Status Civitatis Vaticanae est civitas minima Europae et centrum Ecclesiae Catholicae Romanae. Est in Roma, et ita enclave. Lingua plerumque adhibita in Civitate Vaticana est lingua Italica. Lingua Latina est lingua Catholicae Religionis. Civitas Vaticana sita est intra moenia urbis Romae, scilicet in Monte Vaticano, ad ripam dexteram fluminis Tiberis.
La Stato della Città del Vaticano (Status Civitatis Vaticanæ) è uno stato indipendente europeo posto sotto l'autorità del Pontefice della Chiesa cattolica, che vi esercita i poteri di un monarca assoluto, anche se le principali azioni di governo sono svolte dal Segretario di Stato. Con una superficie di appena 0,44 km quadrati, inserita nel tessuto urbano di Roma, sulla riva destra del Tevere, il Vaticano è il più piccolo stato indipendente del mondo, sia in termini di numero di abitanti che di estensione territoriale. Per Santa Sede si intende l'ente al quale spetta la piena sovranità e proprietà sullo Stato della Città del Vaticano.
The State of the Vatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of ► Rome. At approximately 44 hectares (108.7 acres), it is the smallest independent nation in the world and is classified as a microstate. It was created in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty as a vestige of the much larger Papal States (756 to 1870). It is the sovereign territory of the Holy See and the location of the Apostolic Palace—the Pope's official residence—and the Roman Curia.
