colocação de imagem[edit]

Caro Darwin Estou de volta outra vez e novamente pedindo socorro. Estou tentando carregar um arquivo de imagem ( imagem que está na minha familia ha mais de 100 anos e atualmente em minha posse pessoal), mas na hora de finalizar diz que o mesmo ja foi excluido anteriormente ( O que de fato ocorreu nao sei porque), pede para que eu mude a descrição do arquivo, o que nao posso fazer, pois nao posso mudar o nome da pessoa da foto. Como faço para carrega-la novamente, até porque tenho + ou - 13 imagens em situação semelhante, para + ou - nove paginas que redigi. ¡Hola DarwIn! ya va siendo hora de que se cree una categoría propia para los "montes flordelisados" en català "mont floronat", que es esta figura: File:Escut de Mont-roig del Camp.svg formada por la suma de un monte y una flor de lis. A ver si puedes ayudarme con la traducción del término para crear la categoría, que sería una subcategoría de "fleur-de-lis in heraldry" y "Mountains in heraldry". Hey Xavigivax! I apologize for taking so long to answer this. I've actually researched it back when you posted the message, but forgot to answer you. I couldn't came up with any English native term for that. However, we may tentatively create something as "mounts fleury" or "mounts fleurie", I've seen people have been using "mounts vert" for the green mountains in heraldry, therefore it seems like an obvious designation for that particular charge.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 22:50, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In English heraldry anything that terminates in a fleur-de-lis or is decorated by a fleur-de-lis issuing from it may be blazoned as "flory".

Imagens da Associação Portuguesa de Plantas Carnívoras[edit]

Boa tarde DarwIn,

Estou a contacta-lo pois como se deve lembrar alertou-me para duas imagens inseridas por mim, sem ter enviado permissão. Desde já lhe agradeço por me ter chamado a atenção ao mesmo.

A questão que se coloca agora é que já enviei o email com a permissão no dia 04-06-2011 e ainda não retiraram o aviso de apagamento. Até enviei com o email Geral da Associação para evitar confusões. Agradeço que caso esteja algo mal me avise para retificar ou em caso de estar tudo bem que retifique a situação.

Mudança de licença desta imagem[1][edit]

Caro DarwIn, eu li a página de discussão [2] e pelos vistos criei uma grande confusão ao mudar a licença, peço imensa desculpa, faça as correções necessárias, eu só queria proteger algumas das minhas imagens que estão ou podem vir a ser usadas comercialmente em livros, algo que eu não quero sem a minha autorização e acordo, por isso mudei a "licença para não comercial". Olá DarwIn,

Estranhamente não estão aqui muitas mensagens de agradecimento. Espero que seja por estar a escrever no local errado e não porque ninguém lhe agradece depois do trabalho estar feito. Vou ter mais cuidado quando colocar mais imagens. Imagens é uma importante parte dos temas. Agora é só perceber bem como isto funciona.

Sobre a página da Associação ainda não percebi o que é preciso. Essa falta de notoriedade. Já li tudo o que aconselham diversas vezes e mesmo assim passa-me ao lado. Parece-me que estou a ler uma carta ao Presidente da República para ir à casa de banho. Toda formal e ninguém percebe nada. Bem mas isso não interessa pois resolve-se tudo!

Por acaso já ando na Wikipédia à muitos anos, mas ficava-me pela inglesa. Vamos la ver se pelo menos ajudamos a tapar a lacuna das plantas carnívoras na Wikipédia portuguesa.

Mas muito obrigado pelo tempo gasto com as minhas imagens. Prometo ter mais atenção para a próxima vez.

Fui confirmar. Afinal nunca cheguei a mandar mail para eles, foi para a outra DRAC :) Vou já enviar de seguida. Em relação à colaboração, vejo que há duas coisas em curso: 1) o Wiki Loves Monuments e 2) uma colaboração a mais longo prazo, essa da BD de fotografias...

Para 1) era o que te pedia para me manteres em CC, e o site é: http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org.pt/ - as credenciais são "wlm" e as oito primeiras letras da iniciativa.

Sim, podes partilhar as credenciais. O âmbito do WLM é: fotos carregadas em Setembro. O que significa que fotos com 30 anos, se nunca foram disponibilizadas numa licença livre em algum outro lugar, são admissíveis para carregamento no Commons (cuja premissa é ter, precisamente, uma licença livre). Posto isto, até tinha a sua graça a DRAC participar com o arquivo eheheh, seria genial! Mas, claro, tem que ser a título individual (ou seja, não pode ser "a DRAC" a participar por ser uma entidade), o que levanta a questão de "como é que o indivíduo licenciará conteúdos da DRAC". É exequível, sim, mas tem que ter a permissão escrita da DRAC. Fiz-me entender?

A DRAC pode ainda participar de outra forma: ao disponibilizar o arquivo numa licença livre, nós estamos prestes a emitir um comunicado de imprensa sobre o WLM, e podemos referir já essa colaboração! I saw that you requested the deletion of a file a uploaded for copyrighted violation. It was a file, as I reported, from the Web Gallery of Art site, and I uploaded because in Commons there are hundreds (maybe thoundands) of images from WGA). Hello Yukio, if I well recall, it was a sculpture, and {{PD-Art}} only applies to 2D works of art, that's why it was a copyright violation. It is an understandable mistake, I don't think you are a copyright violator, and if you want to remove the automated advice I've sent to your userpage, please do so. Excuse me, but I'm from Copiapó, and actually live to one square away from the monument of Juan Godoy. You can search for many of the existing pictures of the monument and they look pretty much the same. Also, I have never -ever- visited the website you citted before as to assume the picture was taken from there. Then, do you have any certain that the real author of the picture is the owner of such website or at least this was ever authorized to use it?

About case 1: I beg you to not take me for a fool, and do not insult my intelligence. The image that can be seen in File:Dibujo444.jpg is obviously this one. DarwIn: it was not my intention to make you believe so. I won't deny thay only half of the pictures used in the collage were of my authory. The thing is that you said -or apparently so- that the rest of the pictures were copyvios. And regarding the flag of the city, I don't understand what's the problem with making the flag myself, using an authorized picture (the coat of the city). And if so, what especificall license should I use for it. Thanks.

If they were not your work, why have you said it was in the authorship of the file? And why have you done the same for many other files you uploaded, which were others work? You even passed the work of another Commons user as your own. For Christ sake, what was the need for that?

About the collage, you can't keep it here, even if only one of the photos is a copyvio. If you have images taken by you or under a free license, you may make and upload a new one.

About the coat of arms, you cannot grab a coat of arms from the internet, paste it into a blue field and make a flag from it, as it would still be a derivative of the original copyrighted work. You can do one yourself using available free elements or elements designed by you.

About the university picture, if you claim authorship on it, please follow COM:OTRS procedures to properly license it. I would gladly restore it while waiting for the authorisation if you were a trusted user, but unfortunately you have destroyed that trust with your actions.

Parece haver um problema no que se refere à descrição e / ou licenciamento deste arquivo específico. Verificou-se que você adicionou na descrição da imagem apenas uma predefinição que não é uma licença, embora ela forneça informação útil sobre o arquivo, ela não é uma licença válida. Poderia resolver este problema, adicionando a licença no arquivo acima? Você pode editar a página de descrição e alterar o texto. Carregar uma nova versão do arquivo não muda a descrição do arquivo. Ahhhhhhh! No, I didn't exactly missed it, I confused myself with the 2 links for the 2 DRs that were in the DR tag, and apparently followed the wrong one and ended up in the old DR (for the first deletion) - Then I thought that you had simply linked to that DR instead of opening a new one (which would be perfectly fine and logical too), so simply deleted the image. Parece-me que voce vetorizou a imagem, os traços ficaram melhor definidos e a cor mais viva - mui grato. Acredito, por alguns de seus trabalhos que tive a oportunidade de apreciar, ser o seu interesse intelectual pelos assuntos Monarquicos e a Nobreza, o que muito apraz-me posto ser Monarquista por tradição famiiar, formação e indole, porem sendo esses fatores consubstanciados à ciencia politica - na qual sou convicto. Sereno moreno y calmantes montes. No la hagas de jamón porque es de milanesa. File:Montilivi.jpg es una imagen valiosa, así como la nueva, es por eso que separé los archivos. El escudo de Girona FC, mismo que sea tu proprio trabajo, no es un logo libre, por eso es violación de copyright. File:1aalineaciongirona.JPG ha sido borrada (no por mi) porque la cargaste aquí como tu proprio trabajo, lo que no es verdad. Se la quieres de vuelta, tienes que identificar la origen y data de la imagen con mas precisión. Hola. Vi que intentaste como yo ayudar a este usuario, por lo que venia a darte un par de explicaciones. Hoy fue bloqueado por un mes debido a que continuaba subiendo imágenes no libres y a sus comentarios hacia varios usuarios, aquí y en es:WP. El problema exacto con sus imágenes es el siguiente: él es artista. Consigue una imagen en internet de algún artista y pinta un cuadro con esa misma imagen. Luego le toma una foto a la imagen y la sube en Commons como trabajo propio. El problema aqui es que, aunque él haya hecho efectivamente el cuadro, la imagen original no es suya, sino una fotografía con derechos de autor. Esta es la causa por la cual se borran los cuadros que sube. También hay que decir que lo intenta desde el año pasado, que en es:WP ya fue bloqueado en otra ocasión y que me ha dicho en su discusión "yo no estoy interesado en amoldar, o vovlerme parte esencial de Wikipedia", por lo que, por triste que sea esta situación, no creo que tenga arreglo. Puede ser, pero no es la primera vez que le pasa. No es novato en este tema y más de una persona trató de ayudarlo por las buenas, así que no lo veo muy justificado. Si no quiere peleas, me parece bien. Mejor que aproveche este tiempo para pensar en lo que Wikipedia significa, en sus objetivos en Commons y en que las políticas son para todos, incluyéndolo a él y a su talento. Además, con una petición de debloqueo como esta poco después de que hablaras con él y le explicaras las cosas, dificilmente pueda creerte que está dispuesto a calmarse o cambiar. Early assumption: blocking is only for safeguarding the project, not a form of punishement. So, I think that the project needs at least one month without Neo ender; this is the minimum time for understand and realize if he is truly interested in partecipate on Commons (not only for use it like a personal showcase). If so, after this period he will be here with his in-scope contributions (after reading some policies and guidelines, I hope, in particulary COM:DW). If we unblocking him now or after only one week, I believe that he will return here with the same ideas, and this means a huge waste of time for all. Further, I don't trust in tutoring (unless it's done by more people), it's an high risk. I talked with him off-wiki and I know he now understands how COM:DW works. He's much more calmer as well. I will work this out with him a little further, and then ask for an unblock at AN if he wants to come back earlier than the month. Yes, logos are generally copyrighted, unless they are very simple, which is not the case of this one. Commons:Village pump/Copyright#I just wrote template:PD-German logos. But I still feel that it is not constructive to open deletion discussion about many logos, just to prevent speedy deletion. There would be also sufficient precedent for a special licence tag for American logos. For most other countries, there may be a lack of case law. But most would still be free because de minimis non curat lex (the courts cannot be bothered with trifles). Hello. I saw that you deleted the File:TI-Nspire CX.jpg and File:TI-Nspire CX CAS.jpg files. These images are normally copyrighted, but according to the descriptions of File:TI-Nspire.jpg and File:TI-NspireCAS.jpg (on Wikipedia, not Wikimedia Commons (I'm not sure how to make inter-wiki links...)), Joerg Woerner has allowed "the Wikipedia project" to use the images. I'm not sure if that means Wikipedia or if it means all Wikimedia sites, but if it does mean all Wikimedia sites, I believe that the images should be undeleted (and that Joerg's image usage permission should be included in the descriptions). The very fact that someone says that the file is to be used in Wikipedia suggests that they don't want it to be used anywhere else, or that teh license is purely non-commercial, therefore those files are currebtly a copyvio and can't be undeleted. Olá! Estive trabalhando em Courbevoie e não consegui atualizar os dados demográficos do artigo (o último dado é de 1999). Imagino que a predefinição devesse permitir a atualização da tabela. Pelo menos, na versão original Modèle:DemogFR, na qual se baseia a versão espanhola Plantilla:DemogFR (transposta por você para a pt.wiki como Predefinição:DemogFR), está dito que é possível incluir mais três anos na série histórica. Hello Midnight bird, first of all, we don't allow non-commercial licenses here, and FAL (the license you have placed there) is not a non-commercial license as you seem to believe. However, those photographs seem to be public domain according to the Italian law, because they were created more than 20 years ago (as stated in the tag). If you disagree you should nominate them for deletion, not just return the old tag (unless you really want to release them under FAL, which I doubt, from your comments above).-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 19:31, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Je comprends les avertissements, mais malgré les explications fournies sur les sources et les autorisations d'utlisation de photos qui ne sont pas à moi, j'aimerais que tu puisses consulter cette page. C'est la page d'un forum sur les bus angevins (qui contient les photos que j'utilise pour Wikipedia) où j'ai demandé l'autorisation de mise en ligne des images sur Wikipedia. Le principal modérateur a accepté, a condition que le nom de l'auteur de la photo soit clairement mentionné. Ce que je fais habituellement (il se peut que j'ai oublié de le faire dans certains cas, c'est vrai).

Tira uma dúvida. Vi que uns logos de clubes do Brasil foram marcados como copyvio e você reverteu baseado que tratava-se de geometria simples e estavam no limiar da originalidade. Bem, enquanto o simbolo do File:Sao Paulo Clube.gif pode ser feito com uma régua existem outros bem elaborados como File:Fluminense logo.gif. Como é possível afirmar que as letras ali, FFC, tratam-se de geometria simples? Desconheço qualquer outra incidência desta geometria simples em qualquer lugar. Se basta competência técnica para elaborar à mão um desenho para ser considerado geometria simples, pelo menos o símbolo do Microsoft Excel poderia ser perfeitamente carregado. Pelo que você está explicando, todos os logos criados a partir de 1941 podem ficar sem problema algum, e boa parte dos que foram criados depois e são baseados em antigos. Tem que melhorar a documentação interna disso pq é deficiente e qualquer um que vier de outro projeto vai querer apagar estes logos. Veja o caso do Vasco aqui. Template SIPA[edit]

Viva DarwIn, eu alterei um pouco o template IGESPAR, e como o template SIPA usava os mesmos critérios, alterei-o também. Eu deveria ter discutido aqui primeiro (as minhas desculpas), mas como estava 'com a mão na massa', foi tudo de seguida. As alterações foram: 1-"Type=CMN-Conjuntos Monumento Nacional", deixou de existir, pois não é uma classificação no IGESPAR; 2- "Type=E/A" passou a direccionar correctamente para a "Categoria:Monuments without legal protection in Portugal by name"; 3-A "Categoria:Monuments included in classified sites in Portugal by name" passou a ser carregada com o novo "Type=INC" (para cobrir os monumentos que embora classificados "E/A", estão incluídos em Sítios ou Conjuntos classificados). Olá de novo. Aqui vai uma questão um pouco complicada: Dado que 'praticamente' todos os monumentos da base IGESPAR estão também na base SIPA (atç. que o inverso não é verdadeiro), não poderia ser criado um template conjunto, que evitasse a existência de duas 'caixas' seguidas nas categorias e páginas que os usam? Poderá ser complexo, e eu não me sinto capaz de o fazer, mas pode-se sempre pedir uma ajuda ao Otourly ou/e ao Jean-Frédéric, que creio terem sido os autores iniciais do {{IGESPAR}}. Olá de novo. Enquanto a situação se mantem (i.e {{IGESPAR}} e {{SIPA}} separados), quando uma página usar os dois templates, a classificação do SIPA (Type) deverá ser igual à do IGESPAR (prioritária). Quando o {{SIPA}} é o único, e não existe referência no IGESPAR nem na DRAC-RAA nem na DRAC-RAM, deverá ser classificado na "Category:Monuments without legal protection in Portugal by name" se o parâmetro "type" for nulo. Para isso o {{SIPA}} poderá ser alterado para o fazer automaticamente. Nos caso em que a base do SIPA indique que o monumento está incluído em Sitio, Conjunto ou mesmo Zona de protecção, dever-se-a nesse caso colocar parâmetro "type=INC" e será classificado automaticamente na "Category:Monuments included in classified sites in Portugal by name". What was your idea to get serveral files renamed that I uploaded? There was no need nor reason for such action. Now the original file numbers from the camera are lost. English vs Portuguese[edit]

Olá Darwin. I hate to bring you into this, but I wanted your opinion, since you were so friendly on the work I did on the Azores material. Recently, some editors associated with the "freguesias-versus-civil parishes" disagreement, and with the WikiLove Monuments in Portugal campaign, have begun to systematically create and/or rename files into Portuguese. I was hoping that you could suggest a course of action. I have been counselled to bring the categorization changes to discussion. Is there an appropriate forum within Commons to debate wholesale changes or actions in violations of the Commons:Language policy? In reverting the category names, the user has suggested that "it is the right name in Portuguese", which goes counter to the English policy guideline. While I have accepted the "freguesia-versus-parish" discussion in the past, it seems that it has embolden this user to go ahead with full Portuguese name usage in the categories, likely supported by other like-minded individuals. My renaming-to-English-attempts have have been reverted and the re-categorized imagery returned to the Portuguese variant. Any suggestions? well first of all, my dad works at st marys high school (of which the picture is for, the wikipedia page he asked me to work on for him). He took the picture, he is in charge of the website. Keith Kidder, it shows it on the wikipedia page. the our lady of pompeii, my church, i dont actually need, so you can just go and delete it thats fine.

About the St. Mary HS picture, if the case is as you say, you may do one of two things: If you *really* want the deleted image here, someone in charge of the website or the actual author of the photo himself must follow the instructions in COM:OTRS and email the permission to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. If your father works there, however, it would be much simpler if you just go there with a camera and take a new photograph of the building, so that it would have EXIF data to support your claims of authorship.

About the logo, the case is not that simple. First of all, we need to know who designed that logo, and if that person authorizes it's publication under a free license. Authorship of the actual photograph of the logo is immaterial in this case, however - All that matters is who actually designed the logo or owns its copyright.

Hi DarwIn,

Just letting you know that I appreciative you of awaring me any copyright violations from me. Later after you warned me 6 months ago, I tried to stop uploading and took myself a look at the welcome page about contribution to the media repository I decided them to upload them on Wikipedia as a fair-use rational. Once I read the welcome page, I contribute photo very good photos but free from copyright. I did this by mistake to avoid myself shame. As you can see, I have made many good contributions to Wikimedia Commons since now such as helping the user to promote a picture into a Quality and Valued picture status back in October I know what I have did is wrong.

I settled here on Wikimedia Commons specifically to promote great quality images into VP, QP and FP status. I actually learned my mistakes earlier in the last six months. I'm also actually active in the English Wikipedia specifically to upload fair-use articles to illustrate the subject on the article. During my time here, I always track down copyright violations and help Wikimedia Commons running smoothly free from trouble. That's what i'm really good at for now. So im only trying to improve here very well. I have been long active in Wikimedia Commons I do understand well about image licenses already but I will be also familiar with more still about copyright. I'm trying to be nice, assume good faith and being honest for this.

I have given you the best gift for awaraing me of this. I appreciate your contributions.

Eles estão no artigo deste site - http://ecologia.ib.usp.br/portal/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=71&Itemid=412 O site não cita qualquer licença, mas enviei um e-mail para o autor da obra e ele me informou que os gráficos podem ser usados para qualquer finalidade desde que cite a fonte. Yes VI is a label that is not acquired permanently. A little further down the page selection, you have this case with the "Lake Dera Yunco." The label will move from one image to another. This label was created for illustrators quickly find the best image for a given subject. In the gallery of COMMONS labels are displayed. At the moment many category does not include a lot of pictures but the speed at which develops COMMONS this tool will be indispensable. Scopes are a little difficult to understand at first, but in my eyes this label is the most important of all. For one who has to make the most sense. Viva, já limpei os limpet's todos da Nossa Senhora da Lapa, pois era um verdadeiro disparate.

Quanto às marcas de àgua, é verdadeiramente uma pena. A Torre do Tombo e o Centro Português de Fotografia fazem exactamente o mesmo, ainda que sabendo que não tem quaisquer direitos de autor sobre as fotos. Outro exemplo é a Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Gaia que coloca marcas de água sobre fotos das quais não possuem quaisquer direitos a não ser o serem os possuidores das mesmas.

Alem disso parece-me incorrecto e mesmo ilegal que declarem possuir os direitos de autor sobre fotos ou documentos de autores falecidos à mais de 70 anos, só pelo facto de estarem na posse dos originais - a meu ver, isso não lhe dá quaisquer direitos, pois não se tratam de direitos de posse, mas sim de direitos de autor. (enfim democracia à Portuguesa). Neste aspecto, os americanos dão um bom exemplo (todas as fotos do governo ou de funcionários em serviço são do domínio público). Então, nós, que pagamos com os nossos impostos o trabalho deles ainda temos que lhes pagar os direitos de autor??? — infelizmente temos muito a aprender com os anglo-saxonicos e outros paises nórdicos no que diz respeito aos direitos dos cidadãos.

Sobre restablecimiento de imágenes[edit]

Gracias por restablecer las imágenes al fin alguien con sentido común, cuando creo los colages es por necesito ilustrar algo con varias imágenes me parece fuera de lugar subir una a una además del colage, acá siempre es un problema subir fotos, siempre le colocan una plantilla y nunca no especifican que es lo que hay de malo, por lo general las plantillas engloban un conjunto de falta y uno tiene que estar adivinando, por le escribo a los que colocan la plantilla y no te dice o no saben porque la colocan y los administradores aun peor ya he optado porque no les consulto nada porque nunca responden. Hello. I followed the example in Category:Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, which seemed very reasonable to me. Category:The Illustrated London News issues of 1922 besides being horrendously long, it's not more easy than ILN 1922. Actually, it's much worst, as it clutters the category list in HotCat with the almost 80 entries for the issues. I do not agree with using a expanded name here. Anyway, when I have already created 80 of them like that, I'll not change the system. Olá José Luiz. Sim, confere. Essa licença que eles colocaram no site não tem validade, pois mesmo que eles fossem os proprietários do copyright das fotos (que não devem ser), se estas não têm autor declarado podem ser considerados trabalhos anónimos, e como tal em domínio público uma vez que já passaram mais de 70 anos da sua publicação. De acordo com um amigo jornalista que me passou as fotos, elas faziam parte de um arquivo do jornal e nem foram publicadas. Faziam parte apenas de uma caixa de arquivos. Segundo ele são todas dos anos 40 porque aquela arquibancada mostrada nas fotos foi demolida nessa década. Mas é só o que se sabe, não há menção ao nome de quem fotografou nem nada. Viva Darwin..., uma dúvida: É verdade que fotos que não têm autor declarado podem ser considerados trabalhos anónimos, e como tal em domínio público uma vez que já passaram mais de 70 anos da sua publicação; isto é valido para Portugal? Isto significa que fotos anteriores a 1942 (com autor desconhecido) estão todas no domínio público? - é que procurei informação específica sobre isto e não encontrei. Tem razão. A tal arquibancada de madeira ainda existe mesmo. Mas o campo acabou, virou de futebol soçaite, ou seja, de grama sintética em tamanho menor. Aquilo tudo ali que na época eu frequentei agora está incorporado à Acadêmicos do Salgueiro, uma escola de samba. O que é isso de DR? O que eu escrevo quando passar as fotos para fair-use? Pelo que eu entendi o jornal acabou e o meu amigo que foi jornalista lá pegou as fotos para ele. O time também acabou porque a sede foi incorporada pela escola de samba. Ele me disse que caiu tudo em domínio público. As fotos nunca foram publicadas em jornal, estavam só em arquivo, e não estão em nenhum sítio. Tenho que ver como preencho no fair-use. Though I don't always agree with Gunnex speed deletion marks (generally on text logos, if I well recall, IMO they should be sent to DR if there are doubts), I've total confidence on him, and he's an old and very valuable asset we have at wiki-pt. A página afirma "NOT_IN_COPYRIGHT", possivelmente porque foi publicado em 1922, mas o autor, Jaime Cortesão, morreu em 1960 (há 52 anos) donde, não está no Domínio Público em Portugal - Certo?
Assim, não poderia ser carregado na Commons, ou pode?

Category:Paintings of standing biblical figures[edit]

In my regard just the posture when it comes to paintings-of-biblical-figures is negligible to other characteristics. Should a Category:Paintings of sitting biblical figures also be started? I personally think not. Classifying bible-related artworks can be enough covering with epoch (Renaissance/Middle Ages/Modern), identity of figure depicted and artist. LOL I absolutely agree with you. I just wanted to get rid of those biblical paintings where generally (IMO) posture is not important at all, that were crowding the "paintings of standing men" category, so I created that pigeon hole for them. Be my guest to just discard that category.

In the same situation are the Greek and Roman mythological paintings and the likes.

Perhaps a different situation would be the portraits of saints (they are portraits, right?) but I don't thing it would be useful to mess them amidst the portraits of ordinary people, since they are generally imaginary or fantasy paintings and not real portraits of existing people. This is not linear, however, since it was usual in the 15th and 16th centuries to portrait the patrons of works of art in the paintings they commended as saints or accompanying figures...-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 17:37, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tell me if you think any special move should be taken with Category:Paintings of Greek mythology and Paintings of Roman mythology you're mentioning, in my view neither one is too crowded and they seem to display the full range of postures from standing (or flying) to dead.. Category:Paintings of standing men is now OK because I irradiated it yesterday. ;) I believe we both agree on the way things should be done. When a category becomes too populated, and there is an useful way of dividing things, then it should be used. I usually follow that rule when a dead-end category reaches 200 files.

Relating to posture, I really do not understand why this categorization should be useful to any paintings of men which are not portraits. The way people are portrayed in the arts ecompasses a variety of positions and postures (as does sex) and readers may practicably be in search of artworks after such particular keys, i.e in which position the figure is shown; most classical portraits were created indeed when the model is seated, when it comes to non-portrait paintings the artist's decision is depending, as I guess, on the narrative or feelings they wish to bring across, so kneeling, recumbent or standing personifications might do play that role also for our end-users looking for a specific impression. Well the standard settings are to archive a section after 31 days without any comment; that seems plenty to me. You can also prevent auto-archiving for some cases by setting a timestamp some way into the future (eg 2015), and removing/editing it when you're happy the thing is done. Alternatively, you could use SpBot instead (it only archives on request): {{Autoarchive resolved section/usertalksetup}} together with {{Section resolved}} makes manual archiving a little easier. Thank you very much for your interest to my pictures, and for your corrections in the categories of the relief of the CoA of the El Escorial monastery.

If these CoA are not only the "property" of this king, but of some of his followers too (and at least two queens of France...), I think however that the category "CoA of Philip II of Spain" makes sense here, as he was the builder of the monastery. That's why I specified this king.

Hello Jebulon, I tried to categorize those COAs based on their basic description, which is the 1580 model which, apparently, was used until as late as 1668. The purpose was not to strip original coats of arms specifically related to one king from their owner, but I might incidentally done so. I think you are right (CoA of spanish kings since 1580), but I think I'm not wrong (CoA of Philip II)... This is not incompatible. The sign is the little portuguese escutcheon, in the middle above. As you surely know, Portugal was lost by kings of Spain in 1665 after a lot of military defeats, but inspite of the Treaty of Lisbon of 1668, maybe King Charles II owned those CoA too, until his death and the advent of Anjou-Bourbon family, I don't know... No, you are not wrong, it should have both categories indeed.

(Comment) We (Portugal) never belonged to Spain. Filipe was a legitimate King of Portugal by blood, and he and his successors always ruled Portugal as a separate Kingdom, with a separate administration. For instance, I don't believe the Filipes ever used those Castillan coats of arms among us. Instead, the normal coat of arms of Portugal was used. The coat of arms of the Filipes as Kings of Portugal, if I'm not wrong, is Portugal without any marshalling. If it was not for the war with England and its alliance, it could have been a very prosperous time for us. The so called "restoration of independence" in 1640 was nothing but a palacian coup d'état by a cadet royal branch against another. That holiday will be celebrated this year for the last time, the 1st December. Yes, I guess it was a personal union, though I don't believe there ever was a true "Spanish-Portuguese Empire". Both empires remained separated all along, and I'm not aware of any effort to "Hispanize" our possessions.

This is the last year for 1st December (Restoration of Independence) and 5th October (Republic implementation) holidays as part of the Troika economic measures of austerity. It is supposed to be a 5 year suspension, but it is not clear. In any case, at least the 1st December holiday is not expected to return, since it's permanence today is basically indefensible.

I'm also very much motivated by learning, here. Indeed, it's pretty much the biggest attraction of this whole endeavour. It's a joy and a privilege. So I ask you, if you have any doubt about any of my categorizations in heraldry or elsewhere, then please tell me. Hello SatuSuro, I don't believe it was your fault at all. It's that US copyright thing with statues, which is difficult to understand. For instance, there are a lot of statues in Category:Avard Fairbanks which for unclear motives are left untouched. I suspect it has to do with the year of publication, those published before 1978 without copyright notice are safe to keep. Anyway, don't lose your sleep over it. :)

The only thing you may learn from that, if you don't know already, is that you may salvage those FOP deleted images by cropping them, if they are still usable without the copyrighted part, like this one. In some cases it's not even necessary to crop the whole thing, just the necessary to make it de minimis. -- Darwin ^Ahoy! 06:03, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In background, we have Castile-and-Leon, ok. A (royal ?) crown, and a Golden Fleece collar.

But what is this strange blue escutcheon with five golden escutcheons ?

The style of the relief looks 18th-century, but the painting is modern, IMO.

This central escutcheon is not the "Anjou" one (no fleur-de-lys), could it be a part of the Portuguese one, with a mistake in the painting ?

I really dont know...

Boas Darwin. Como não conheço mais nenhum sysop por aqui, recorro a ti mais uma vez. Podes desenlear esta duplicação de cats: Category:Castle of Evoramonte e Category:Castelo de Evoramonte. Não me perguntes porque é que criei Category:Evoramonte Castle em maio, porque já não me lembro; suponho que foi porque assumi que essa forma era a normalizada/padronizada. Pelo que tenho visto, a norma é que os nomes das categorias sejam em inglês; por exemplo, na Tuquia, nos últimos meses um editor turco(!) tem andado a substituir nomes "aturcalhados" por nomes em inglês. Not the same picture[edit]

Hi, I saw you deleted a picture I took at the National Gallery of art in DC for copyright violation. It looks a lot like the picture you posted as a copyright violation, but it is in fact a different picture. I had never seen the other picture before so it's not like I tried to recreate it or copy it or anything, in fact it would have been impossible since that picture is dated July 10th 2012 and I took my picture when visiting DC in November 21st 2009. I'm glad there's people making sure that copyrighted works are protected. In this case however, it is not the same picture.

Inserir traduções de poemas e desbloquear um link[edit]

Olá, como vai? Já conversamos e me ajudaste no passado. Tenho recebido uma chuva de pedras por ter criado um blog para exemplificar com traduções o trabalho de poetas que biografo. Então colocaram o blog na lista negra do SPAM, o que é um absurdo, pois temos ali a intenção de divulgar conhecimento sobre a poesia do autor. Podemos não ter como provar que o blog é reconhecido internacionalmente. Afinal, quem escreve sobre blogs fora dos blogs? Não estou disposto a lutar pela justiça e para desbloquear o blog, pois estou muito doente. No entanto, gostaria de retirar, sim, o rótulo de SPAM do blog e saber como fazer para continuar inserindo na Wikipédia traduções de poema dos autores (desde que não se viole direitos autorais, claro). Imagem de conhecida[edit]

Oi Darwin, eu conheço a pessoa que é autora dessa foto e foi quem a publicou. Ela deve ter errado algo no preenchimento da licença, porém ela é a proprietária dos direitos autorais da foto e queria realmente doar com todos os direitos liberados. Seria útil em artigos ligados ao Carnaval do Recife. Aproveitando, queria tb tirar uma dúvida, o File:O Galo da Madrugada Carnaval do Recife.jpg que foi licenciado pela Agência Brasil está com o link fora do ar. Isso pode de alguma forma comprometer a "verificabilidade" do material, tipo, alguém desconfiando que é falsa a declaração de que aquilo foi postado pela Agência Brasil, e portanto, é um trabalho livre? Em relação ao primeiro caso, a imagem foi carregada sem licença. Pergunte à pessoa sua conhecida que licença ela quer na publicação, que eu restauro e coloco.

No segundo caso, a resposta é sim, pode comprometer. Não seria imediato, até porque isso foi carregado pela Jurema, que tem boa reputação, mas se fosse colocado por alguém com fama de trapaceiro a imagem poderia ser eliminada por precaução, uma vez que a licença e fonte não podiam ser confirmadas. No caso dessa imagem específica eu consegui encontrar o novo link dela lá na Agência Brasil, e fiz a revisão da licença, de modo que ela agora está segura mesmo que o link desapareça. Nesses casos em que o licenciamento provém de um site externo convém sempre pedir revisão da licença com {{Licensereview}}. Coloque essa tag nos ficheiros com esse tipo de licenciamento, com uma fonte que funcione, e logo um administrador ou revisor faz a verificação.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 05:05, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Em relação ao {{Licensereview}}, é bem mais simples que o OTRS. Basta colocar essa tag e um link válido para a fonte e licença da imagem, que um administrador ou revisor faz a verificação, e protege a imagem de futuros questionamentos caso esse link desapareça, ou mudem a licença na origem (como a Agência Brasil já fez, inclusive).

Quanto à imagem da sua amiga, basta perguntar a ela que tipo de licença quer. Poderíamos eventualmente presumir qual seria com base em outros carregamentos correctamente licenciados que ela tivesse feito, mas não sei se isso aconteceu. Não se pode simplesmente colocar a licença menos livre, pois já tem acontecido (e não poucas vezes) gente carregar imagens aqui sem colocar licença pensando que isto é para uso não comercial, por isso é necessário realmente algum tipo de confirmação da parte do detentor dos direitos autorais.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 12:16, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Olá Eugenio, um Feliz Natal também para si! Creio que tem razão quanto à legislação brasileira. Nestes casos o procedimento adequado é enviar a imagem para uma discussão de delecção (DR) como eu fiz, uma vez que não se trata duma violação directa e óbvia de direitos de autor. Software changes this week

The new version of MediaWiki (1.24wmf22) is on test wikis and MediaWiki.org since September 18. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis on September 23, and on all Wikipedias on September 25 (calendar).
If you have more than 2000 notifications, the oldest ones will be removed.[35] [36]
In the "Vector" skin, the icon used for users will show a neutral gender. [37] [38]
The VisualEditor template tool now tells you if a required field is missing. [39]
The "Cancel" button of the VisualEditor save window is now called "Resume editing". This shows that you can still edit and you won't lose your changes. [40]

Problems

All JavaScript on Commons was broken for a few minutes on Tuesday. It was because of old code in the HotCat tool. The same problem happened on some Wikipedias on Wednesday. It is now fixed. [158]

O Olavo de Carvalho não é professor universitário e não possui diploma de Filosofia. As fontes citadas, pelo menos no verbete da Wikipédia em inglês, não são fiáveis. Está escrito na Wikipédia em inglês que o Olavo possui interesse pela psicologia, mas o Olavo criticou uma decisão do Conselho Regional de Psicologia do Paraná. Existem muitos problemas envolvendo o verbete sobre o Olavo de Carvalho na Wikipédia.

This is regarding the image https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:VarahaVadivu.jpg&action=edit&redlink=1 I had uploaded which has been deleted. The owner now has emailed the permissions-commons@wikimedia.org releasing the license for the image along with seven other images. Can you please help me how to go about in requesting for reverting the deleted image?

I am new to the Wikipedia editing ways, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Amymy/Vadivu is my first attempt to compose a full-fledged page. I am planning to add the remaining seven images to this topic page.

Support request with team editing experiment project[edit]

Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! Recent changes

In UploadWizard, the dialog to see an image preview has been removed. You already see the images in the thumbnails when you upload them. [461]

You can now edit music scores in VisualEditor. You can add new sheet music scores and get live updates when you edit one. [463]
When you send an e-mail to another editor using Special:EmailUser, that user will now get a notification on the wiki as well. [464]
You can now see 500 images when you upload images from Flickr with UploadWizard. Before this change the limit was 50. [465]

MediaWiki developers spent a day looking at proposed code changes in Gerrit. The goal was to clean up the backlog and give feedback to volunteer developers. [467]

There will be a new beta feature that allows editors to use Flow on their user talkpage if they want to. Each wiki can decide if they want to enable it. [470]
The Content Translation tool can give translation suggestions. This feature will now be available in more languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Turkish, Japanese, Italian, and Catalan. [471]

Hello Jarekt, I fixed all the licenses. I would like to remark, however, that none of those files had an "author". They were all produced by a company. According to the Portuguese law, those cases are treated similarly as if they had no known author. I would advice against doing this kind of screening automatically for files related to Portugal, or else a lot of legitimate files could be deleted by the cleaners within just a single week.-- Darwin ^Ahoy! 15:16, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao DarwIn, ti chiamo perché avrei bisogno di un aiuto sul wikipedia portoghese e purtroppo io non parlo portoghese, forse sei la mia unica speranza ma vengo subito al dunque: vorrei pubblicare 2 immagini su un qualsiasi wikipedia e già ho visto che in altre non è possibile per la legislazione invece in altre come enwiki o quella italiana purtroppo non c'è spazio, mi è rimasta quella portoghese e le 2 immagini sono:

purtroppo penso che forse queste 2 immagini per essere pubblicate, come tu già saprai, devono avere le pagine corrispondenti altrimenti diventano immagini orfane e di conseguenza, credo che, vengono cancellate. Quindi devo chiederti anche, purtroppo, se puoi creare anche le 2 pagine corrispondenti... ma credo che non sia obbligatorio farle con molti contenuti ad esempio nel wikipedia francese questa e quest'altra pagina sono molto ristrette, credo che potresti farle simili a queste tanto a me interessa solo le 2 immagini.
