I have a problem[edit]

Hi Alan.lorenzo,

As you've renamend a file of mine today I hop you can help me. I've tride to upload a file of a building with two facades, this file is "hidden" in the File:Breed 36, Hoorn.jpg. Still visible in the history, but because that happend I can't upload the new file, not even when I rename it before trying to upload it. Can you help me? Está subiendo una cantidad de basura increíble, que, además, repercute en los artículos. ¿Puedes ver esto y decidir si tiene alguna utilidad en el artículo? Lo mismo con esto y esto. Recent renamings of bus pictures on Commons[edit]

Hola Alan,

earlier today you renamed several pictures, stating that these names were completely meaningless. (e.g File:CXX0214.JPG to File:Arnhem Berkhof trolleybus 0214 in 2001.jpg). However, the names themselves were meaningful: the "CXX" in the file name is a common shortcut for the bus operator involved, Connexxion, and the numbers behind the "CXX" are the seperate bus numbers used to recognise the bus.

Hi. The change was requested by the user Steve Morgan, based on the #4 criterion. The original name would be included in criterion #2 (CXX0214.JPG isn't descriptive). If you wish, you can request the rename ussing Template:Rename to add the CXX tag, but tries that the name not be only CXX<numbers>.jpg. Excuse me, but the original name was descriptive to the Dutch people. That you foreign people don't understand it, might be your own problem. The uploader may choose himself what kind of name he wants to use. If he puts the file in the right category or categories they are also always findable. And that last did happen. Hi Leyo. I'm convinced of the violation, including 2007 (excessive results in search, >100), but the system is designed to "peer review". I can confuse me and I can be too wrong. Ich erlaube mir mich kurz einzumischen, auf den ersten Blick siehts wirklich wie ne URV aus. Aber ich denke die Bilder auf den anderen Seiten scheinen von Wikipedia zu stammen, da wie du schon gesagt hast das Bild von einem erfahrenen Benuzuer stammt. File:Cartoon Network HD logo.svg only contains basic letters and quadrates. PD-text-logo clearly.
Your upload, File:Cartoon Network HD 2007.png has design and shades, therefore isn't applicable PD-text-logo license.

You have renamed the above file to a name which is already existing in the category in many very similar forms (the differences are ".JPG" vs. ".jpg", "synagogue" vs. "synagoga" and "(Prostějov)" vs. "Prostějov"). Please undo your file move - it is nonsense and against the rule of having clear, not interchangeable file names. If this cannot be done please rename to "Stará synagoga Prostějov". Problemas con mis imágenes subidas a Commons[edit]

Hola Alan: Para empezar te diré que estoy hecho un lio. Llevo varios días intentando solucionar las enormes advertencias que me ponen en rojo, etc que me agobian muchísimo. Y es que ya tengo 73 -años viejo, que diría un inglés- y a esta edad todo se nos hace un mundo. Por favor ayúdame a poner las cosas bien de mis imágenes subidas, o darme una pauta para ir haciéndolo yo. Es que ni siquiera entiendo las instrucciones en español!!. He puesto unas plantillas que me dijo otro wikipedista pero me da que no está del todo bien. Hola Adolfo. Te voy a intentar explicar de forma rápida todo y luego a medida que te vayan surgiendo me vas preguntando.
Problemas que he visto:
  • He visto más de Google maps con el mismo problema. Te recomiendo utilizar http://www.openstreetmap.org/ que es similar pero utiliza licencia {{CC-BY-SA-3.0}} la cual sirve perfectamente para commons siempre que lo que tu hagas tenga esa misma licencia. Con el fin de evitar problemas he marcado los mapas de Google para su borrado rápido y olvidar el tema.
Echa un vistazo a estos 2 enlaces y sobre todo: No te de apuro preguntarme absolutamente todas las dudas que tengas, por muy absurdo que te parezca todos hemos sido novatos alguna vez y alguien nos ha ayudado (en mi caso a base de borrarme fotos y no entendía el motivo...). Cuenta conmigo.

Categorizar imágenes[edit]

Hola Alan.lorenzo: He preguntado si un artículo mio podría ser bueno. Te invito a que veas lo que me dice Canaan en mi pag de discusión porque no sé como hacer la categorización de las imágenes que he subido. Será la primera vez y espero que «hecho un cesto, hecho ciento» aunque como soy muy, pero que muy mayor, tropezaré la segunda vez en lo mismo. ¿Me podrías ayudar en categorizarlas? Hola Alan: Ya había leido esa página y la he vuelto a leer y releer. Como casi toda mi pag. de discusión está "escrita en rojo", me agobia que salgan más advertencias. Van a pensar que soy un vándalo... o un inutil. He intentado categorizar esta imagen. [[File:C-16. Tte.Cnel Rovira en carro 001.JPG|C-16. Tte.Cnel Rovira en carro 001]] y quitar la plantilla de no categorizada. Y siguen saliéndome cosas en rojo en las categorías. ¿Está bien? ¿mal? ¿Cómo debería haberlo hecho?. Gracias otra vez. El asunto es que las categorías predefinidas no están en español en su mayoría, así que hay que buscarlas en inglés.
Una herramienta cómoda es el HotCat, que lo puedes activar en Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets sección "Herramientas para las categorías", el 2º. Su documentación de ayuda está en Help:Gadget-HotCat. Con este a medida que vas escribiendo te va mostrando las opciones existentes más parecidas.
