upload problems

When I first uploaded a file, I didn't see how to add comments. I read that the comments could be edited later, so I continued. Then I couldn't find how to edit the comments. So I tried to upload the file again. This time it wouldn't let me because, "This file was previously uploaded to this wiki", even though I had given it a different name. house nr 3/5 in file name seems to be a problem as of the "/". Actually some of my files have been noticed as "Bad Filename" and not been uploaded. Pity for the wasted time, is there some sence in such limitation ? Wistula (talk) 15:59, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

/ is used to delimit directories in most operating systems and in URLs on the web. In the hypothetical example http://www.example.com/images/image.jpg, images is a directory on the server www.example.com, and that directory contains the file image.jpg. On the other hand, http://www.example.com/images/house_nr_3/5.jpg would mean that there is another directory inside images named house_nr_3 containing a file named 5.jpg. There is a limit of 100MB per file. And Upload Wizard has a time limit for uploading (at least that was the case a year ago) of .. I don't know.. 30 minutes?!. Also: uploading more than one file fails with Firefox10 due to bug 34333. --Saibo (Δ) 00:58, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Re-uploading the same file

I uploaded files published under license CC-BY-ND. Then I was explained that this license wasn't allowed, and I at once put deletion request for all the uploaded photos to avoid copyright problems. Then I contacted author of the photos, and he changed the license into CC-BY. Why now the upload master is not allowing me to upload these same photos? Isn't this fool-protection a bit paranoidal? Unsaved categories

When I select the category for the file, I often forget to press "Add" button. Then I receive the message about uncategorized file, and have to go and to set the category manually. Ich bin jetzt 63 und wir waren zusammen 42 Jahren, also GENAU ZWEI DRITTEL meines Lebens. Ich bedanke mich auch dafür, daß Sie mich in seiner Biografiie erwähnt haben, wir waren einander sehr wichtig. Auch die Korrektur, wo ENDLICH das (falsch) "Rhapsody in Blue" Gershwin's Konzert für Klavier und Orchester wurde. Allerdings, bei BRAHMS und FREITAS BRANCO sind die zwei Violinisten noch miteinder vertauscht: er nahme BRAHMS mit JENNY ABEL auf, FREITAS BRANCO mit TIBOR VARGA. Und nach wie vor bleibe ich unerwähnt sowohl bei VilLA-lOBOS ("Carnaval das Crianças") als auch bei Charles Ives ("Three-Page Sonata"), beide für DGG, die, bei der ERSTEN LP-Ausgabe mich AUCH vergessen hat, und das, obwohl BEIDE Werke einen zweiten Pianisten. Ich weiß nicht, wie oft Sie Spalten wie "Diskografie" revidieren, aber hier sind drei Einspielungen die wir zusammen eingespielt haben, die Sie erwähnen könnten, falls interessiert: 1) FRANZ LISZT: die Werke (v.a. "Weihnachtsbaum" in der VIERHÄNDIGEN Fassung, das war eine ERSTEINSPIELUNG) für Klavier, 4 Hände (für EMI), 2) SERGE RACHMANINOFF: die einzige WIRKLICH GESAMTaufnahme der Werke für 2 Klavier (zu der Zeit wurde diese Aufnahme von der "Neuen Zeitschrift für Musik" als "Schallplatte des Monats" gekührt) (für "ddf"= "Disques Defossez") und 3) GIOACHINO ROSSINI: "Petite Messe Solennelle" für 2 Klaviere, Harmonium, 4 Solisten und Chor ("haenssler klassik" - ein Artikel über diese Aufnahme erschien in "Kultur Spiegel" und sie ist immer noch erhältlich, als CD und als mp3 "Download"). File uploaded was not file shown in thumbnail

I've experienced this problem a couple of times : I select 5 or 6 files for upload, then click the 'upload' button. Soon after I get an error of "File was empty" for all the files but one. After removing the 'empty' files, I proceed with the uploading of the one that remains, name it, etc. I finally find that the file that's been uploaded is not the one that showed on the thumnail, with the consequence it has to be renamed. Upload Wizard is broken

It seems that the Upload Wizard has been broken for several weeks. I filed a Bugzilla report #34387 On Feb 14, but so far I haven't heard of anything from anyone. I am aware that there are numerous problems with this gadget for many users, and I was wondering why can't it be restored to an earlier working version? I have hundreds of images waiting to upload. CC0 license not correctly described

If I select CC0 as the default license in my preferences, the text during upload reads "I release this work under the Creative Commons Public Domain Dedication". The PD dedication is not a license and not something people can release things under. This should be fixed to read that I release it under the Creative Commons Zero Waiver. из-за глюков в загрузчике загрузился не тот файл!!!? с другим именем. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sestroretsk_11.jpg удалите,пожалуйста первый файл с пирамидой, чтобы я его потом отдельно загрузил. Popup help messages

The popup help messages that should supposedly be triggered by clicking (or hovering?) on the many question mark symbols in the questionnaire aren't working for me in FF10. Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:35, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

(Non-)navigation bar

After several months of using the wizard, I'm still irritated by the "Learn-Upload-Release rights- etc." navigation bar on top. It creates the impression as if one could navigate by clicking on it, and my mouse hand always, always automatically wants to go there, rather than to the actual "continue" buttons that are hidden somewhere below. Categories that don't stick

I keep getting thrown off by the fact that if you type in a category, it won't "stick" unless you make that extra click on "save category". That's a very unexpected behaviour for a string that has been typed into a normal-looking text box in a form, and is different from all other text boxes elsewhere. I also don't find the semantics of "save category" very transparent. "Save" suggests saving something to a repository that is out of sight, like a file on disk or a database, not just "making it stick" on the form you're working on.
