Vorname Friedl

Servus JuTa! Du hast beim Vornamen Friedl die Kategorie Male names entfernt . Friedl kann jedoch durchaus männlich sein. In Österreich wird ein Friedrich oft zum Friedl, z. Вікі любить пам'ятки 2019 в Україні

Привіт!

1 вересня вже традиційно стартує українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! До кінця вересня Ви можете подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше про те, як взяти участь, можна прочитати за посиланням.

Із детальними правилами можна ознайомитися тут. Для тих, хто раніше уже брав участь у конкурсі — зауважте, що цього року є певні зміни:

  • у номінації «Найкраще фото» — файли повинні мати не менше 4 МПкс;
  • у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» — оцінка фотографії пам'ятки складається із суми базового та додаткових балів (в останній враховується чи ця пам'ятка вже фотографувалася іншими авторами та скільки фотографій пам'яток уже є з цього населеного пункту);

Нагадаємо, що фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Також цього року маємо спецномінації «Єврейська спадщина» та «Млини». Також окремо відзначатимуться найкращі відео із пам'ятками.

I used the LA1 voice database created by Olivier Bianchi to generate the audio pronunciations. The MBROLA software and the voice databases were released under the same license. Here’s proof. Also, MBROLA was actually released under {{AGPL}} according to Wikipedia and the official GitHub repository, but in the Village pump I was told I can also use {{GPLv3}}. Latisc (talk)

I see you made some edits to this video. The video and the content of that page are automatically created by VideoWiki, so your fixes are likely to be erased next time someone updates the video. This is achieved by editing Wikipedia:VideoWiki/Dengue_fever and following the instructions to publish on Commons. The folk involved in creating and promoting VideoWiki are User:Pratik.pks, User:Doc James, and User:Ian Furst, who should be able to help fix their software to output the format you would like to see on Commons.

I have a number of concerns about creating Wikipedia articles as videos, which I've expressed in the essay Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not YouTube. Many relate to the features about collaborative editing on Wikipedia that are not shared by Commons. At present, VideoWiki appear to be a failure, since after six months, they have not achieved any significant community take-up. The reason why I edited it, was the video had a "lo license since" template in it, but hidden by collapse. So I couldnt find it directly, I removed the collapse thingies and found the relevant source with now a license. File:WMRD logo small.jpg is not the same image as File:WURD logo small.png. The subject organization has recently rebranded from WMRD to WURD, hence the recent updates in page and images. People only categorised by name

While I appreciate the need the clear up WantedCategories, I don't think creating categories only categorised by name is the way to do it. I think person categories should at least contain the nationality and main profession of the individual. Categorising only by their name is almost like not categorising them at all, only they don't show up on Special:UncategorizedCategories and end up completely lost.

There already exists a category called Category:People to be categorised by country that can be used if you want to create a person-category without finding out their nationality, and today I've created Category:People to be categorised by profession which follows the same function for professions. That gathers these categories in a central place and allows others to provide better categories and connect them to Wikidata. I would appreciate it if you included these (or suggested an alternative version of doing the same thing).

Don't misinterpret me, I actually think creating these categories in a systematic way is a good idea, but I think it should be done with a bit of care so that they can be improved later. Väsk (talk) 18:26, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Italiy und Vulcano

Hallo JuTa, erstmal Danke für die Bearbeitung von File:Italiy Lipari Faro di Marina Corta.jpg. Allerdings hatte ich eine Löschung dieses Dateinamens erwartet. Wer, außer mir, sucht Italien mit Italiy. Nicht einverstanden bin ich aber mit der Umkategorisierung von Vulcano (der italienischen Insel nördlich von Sizilien, von deren Namen die Vulkane ihre Bezeichnung haben) auf Vulcanoes - damit sind ja alle Vulkane gemeint. Ich hätte da noch ein paar Fotos mehr. Da fände ich es nett, wenn Du das rückgängig machen würdest. Schönen Sonntag noch -Arnoldius (talk) 15:21, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Hallo, bei Duplikaten ist das die normale Vorgehensweise, das Duplikat nach Löschung auf das Original weiter zu leiten. Grund die Datei könnte (auch von außerhalb der Wiki-Welt) mit diesem Namen in Benutzung sein. Diese Nutzung soll erhalten bleiben. Zu Category:Volcano: Die Kategorie ist eine Weiterleitung auf Category:Volcanoes. Ich bin einfach dem Weiterleitungsziel gefolgt. Eine Kategorie für die Insel gibt es (noch) nicht. Vielleicht legst Du ja Category:Vulcano (island) o.ä. an, und gibst dieser sinnvolle Über-Kategorien, dann kann das oder können die Bilder dort hinein. Gruß --JuTa 17:05, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Licensing policy on Commons

Dear JuTa (and @Ellywa),

You have pursued "my" uploaded images somewhat aggressively - that is unreasonable by Dutch legal standards and is just bad for the good trust at the heart of our Commons project and for the trust in you. You are probably a good lady or guy and don't want that, so please desist.

  • Let me ask you: how should i proceed when i upload an image AND i have obtained permission from the copyright owner AND i have sent that to the permissions-office of the Dutch OTRS BUT processing there takes some time. I put up the Template OTRS-pending BUT i do NOT put the Template CC-BY-SA-4.0 before permission is granted (i am allowed to do it afterwards, you found my nice Somaliland dog ;-). The OTRS-crew should put the license after accepting the permission by the copyright owner. But then you come along impatiently and threaten to delete the image beforehand.
  • So you want us to put the CC-etc-label on an uploaded image before OTRS has accepted the permission?

Well, every image on commons needs a valid license template on its description page. Otherwise it will normaly deleted after a week. So: You should first contact the copyright holder, and ask him if he/she is willing to publish the image(s) under exactly which free license, then you upload the image(s) with OTRS pending tag and tis license. Then the copyright holder should send the mail to OTRS, which then can be processed even it takes longer. regards --JuTa 07:01, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
OK, but what do you think, of course i have obtained permission for a specific license before i upload, it is just that Dutch OTRS wanted to put the license themselves.   • I see that while you undeleted these two above, you had the opportunity to delete five empty cats, also pertaining to Lisbon trams, even though that it should be clear that I am working on the curation of newly uploaded images and that these empty cats might be needed in the next few days. Any way you may defend your actions, as you did before, doesn’t look good. Hi Pugliesig, there was no confirmation of an OTRS volounteer on the file description page for about 5 months. After some time such images automaticly fall into a "please delete" category, which I was working on.   • (talk page stalker) To be frank, I see no disadvantage in keeping hardcoded in Commons file pages’ wikitext the very same categories that are provided by transcluding from Wikidata. If they fully match, then they do fully match. If they don’t, then most often it’s unchecked vandalism done to Wikidata or bad info Wikidata scooped from somewhere, or, in seldom cases, it may be wrong data in Commons, which is goot to flag and further correct when it is used also somwhere else. Please undelete file File:Shkola_shetinina.jpg. This picture was taken from offical website of the Shetinin School at http://raeliceum.ru/about . I got in contact with officals from that school and they said they allow using their picture under free license. They sent a letter to OTRS volunteers to permissions-ru@wikimedia.org (suffix "-ru", I suppose, means that letters can be written in Russian, so they did it in Russian - according to this russian version of manual). Hello Thanks for relaying this information. When uploading the file I did not provide any misleading information as your post states, I provided the link to the file and stated very clearly on the upload page that I did not have any solid information copyright status, but stated that the photo is a government-issued photo by KUNA the official government arm for news information and photography. The photos produced by the agency are used in every newspaper (both domestic and international) since the photos are produced for that use purposefully. I am not an expert in copyright law and did not claim to have any information on that, I assume that is the job of a large group of Wikipedia editors (you being one of them I assume since you brought this to my attention), that is why I provided the direct link to every photo and image I have uploaded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kman6651 (talk • contribs) 02:57, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Well, every image on commons needs a valid license template on its description page - see Commons:Licensing. If you dont know the copyright status of an image, you should not upload it to commons. You can ask the copyright holder if he likes to publish the image(s) under a free license of his choice (see Commons:Copyright tags). Please reconsider plan to delete image file 'Wundowie charcoal iron blast furnace in 1952 (The West Australian, Tue 4 Nov 1952 Page 17)'

I have included the original source in the file name, which shows that it is before 1954. The site where the image exists is the National Library of Australia (NLA), 'Trove' archive of scanned newspapers, which clearly states that scanned newspapers before 1954 are OUT OF COPYRIGHT. This is all explained in the section 'Summary" with the file on Wiki Commons. I cannot say which licence to use, because NLA don't say it either, but the file is OUT OF COPYRIGHT. I have met all the conditions that the NLA say need to be met to use this file on Wikipedia, under their FAQ "Can I copy the images and use them in Wikipedia, and how should I cite/credit them?" which you can verify at https://trove.nla.gov.au/general/using-digitised-newspapers-faq/#using_reuse. Please note that all the above is already included explicitly, in the 'Summary' section for this file on Wiki Commons. Perhaps you could assist me, by suggesting which of the licences would apply in this case? A problem, with anything after 1924, is that all the licences are USA-centric, and not suited to other countries' laws, such as Australian copyright in this particular case. a) The file is the reproduction of a company bonds public offering, published in 1918. The company no longer exist. b) File can be accesed throught the following url: http://hemeroteca.lavanguardia.com/preview/1918/08/07/pagina-2/33312337/pdf.html?search=productora%20de%20fuerzas%20motrices It is publiched in the newspaper website (La Vanguardia), as part of the newspaper archives.

Maybe now you have more information to decide if the file can be published in Commons (or not).

If the file doesn´t fit with Commons copyright requirements, I'll delete it.

It's used as the lead image on en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Pink Floyd and should be a composite of four other free images already held on Commons (but not being an admin here, I can't tell). Yes, but the DEFAULTSORT value is missing if one name is missing on wikidata. So you either add the name(s) on wikidata or you leave the DEFAULTSORT value here. Otherwise the people anywhere gets sorted after given name and not surname. Thx. --JuTa 18:22, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
