Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikipedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best use CommonsHelper
If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.

If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Hi, im not a photographer and not very qualified in reviewing images, but the newly uploaded version(s) IMO is not an improvement of the image. On commons we in most cases favor the highest resolution, so maybe you like to revert the image to your version of 23:35, 24 August 2008 with a resolution of 4,921×5,588 pixels. There is no problem with the size of the image, also users with a slow connection can see this image on wikipedias because it will be scaled down by the software. --Martin H. Käytä alaluokkia[edit]

Luokitellessasi tiedostoja vältä sisällyttämästä niitä sekä saman puun pää- että alaluokkaan. (Tiedostoa ei esimerkiksi tule sisällyttää sekä luokkaan Category:Finland että Category:Helsinki.) Tällä vältetään tiedostojen yliluokittelua ja liian suuriksi paisuvia luokkia. Yleensä kaikkein tarkimmin määritelty luokka on sopivin. Katso myös Commons:Categories. Kiitos.

Vältä myös lisäämästä uusia luokkia, jotka ovat samansisältöisiä olemassa olevien kanssa. Esimerkiksi luokka Category:Suomen sotahistoria on päällekkäinen luokan Category:Military history of Finland kanssa. Kaikki muu oikeastaan tuli ymmärrettyä, mutta ei tuo edellytys käyttää luokissa jotain lontoota, kun kuvittelin Commonssin olevan monikielinen, mutta ei väliä voihan tänne tallentaa kuvia ilman luokkiakin ja jos jotain englanninkielistä kuvat kiinnostavat niin opetelkoon Suomen kieltä, niinhän tässä on joutunut itsekkin opettelemaan jos jonkinlaisia kieliä. Kyllä, Commons on monikielinen hanke. Luokkien kohdalla ongelma vain on se, että nykyisellään tekniikka ei salli monikielisiä luokkia. (Tällä tarkoitan nimen omaan, että luokan nimi voisi olla monella kielellä.) Siksi käytännöksi on sovittu, että luokkien nimissä käytetään (toistaiseksi) englannin kieltä. Ilmeisesti jossain tulevassa MediaWikin versiossa monikieliset luokat mahdollistuvat, jolloin tämä ongelma poistuu. Vesteri, jos et osaa englantia, pyydä meiltä muilta suomenkielisiltä käyttäjiltä apua kuvien luokittelemiseksi. Commonsiin ladattu luokittelematon kuva on käytännössä täysin arvoton, sillä sitä ei voi mitenkään löytää. Moikka! Kyse ei ole siitä ettenkö osaisi englantia, vaan se on periaatteellinen ja mitä tulee kuvien löytämiseen niin lisäilen kuvia omiksi tarpeikseni tekemiini artikkeleihin ja jos kuvat joitain kielitaidottomia englantilaisia kiinnostaa niin Englanti-Suomi sanakirjoja saa ostettua hyvin varustetuista kirjakaupoista. Lisäämistäsi kuvista saattaa tosiaan päätellä, että kyse on periaatteesta. :-) Kannattaa kuitenkin huomata, ettei wikiprojekteissa olla levittämässä mitään tiettyä aatetta. Erityisesti on huomattava, että Commonsin toiminta ei onnistu, jos ei kuvia ei luokitella. Luokittelematon kuva on hyödytön kuva. Jos haluat välttämättä latailla kuvia ainoastaan artikkelien yhteyteen, pistä ne saman tien fi-Wikipediaan, josta ne joku muu sitten lataa tänne.

On muuten lisäksi huomattava, että hyvä kuva monistuu ympäri maailmaa ja voi muodostua suorastaan jonkin asian symboliksi. Tuon vihjauksen jostain määrätystä poliittisesta suuntauksesta otin kyllä loukkauksena, koska en todellakaan ole ajamassa mitään poliittista suuntausta. Nyt vain on niin, että tekemäni artikkelit koskevat Suomen sisällissotaa ja jääkäreitä ja näissä jääkäreissä oli paljon poliittisia henkilöitä moneen lähtöön kuvistani löytyy myös venäjälle loikanneita kommunisteja jos niitä olit hakemassa. Vesteri, älä ota loukkauksena eilistä, ajattelematonta kommenttiani. Ajattelin lähinnä, että yo. kommenttisi aitosuomalainen mielenlaatu ja lisäämäsi Suomen äärioikeiston historiaa (esim. IKL) kuvittavat valokuvat sekä huomautuksesi siitä, että omistat itse IKL-univormun, antavat aihetta uskoa sinun kannattavan enemmin oikeistoa kuin vasemmistoa. Tämä ei tekisi oikeaan osuessaan sinusta hyvää eikä pahaa ihmistä, sillä poliittinen vakaumus ei ole toisten eettisten tuomioitten piirissä.

Omasta muokkaushistoriastani, joka löytyy fi-Wikipediasta, voit itse päätellä omat kiinnostuksenaiheeni. Ne käsittelevät historiaa ja yhteiskuntaa, kuten sinullakin. Poliittisesti olen varmaan sinusta vasemmalla, mutta en missään tapauksessa kommunisti. Okei, en ota asiaa loukkauksena. Kuten olet myös huomannut minun kiinnostukseni sotahistoriaan. Vuosien saatossa on tullut huudettua kuolinpesien huutokaupoista kaikkea mielenkiintoista ja niitä peruja on myös tuo univormu, jonka olen aikonut säilyttää tuleville sukupolville joka tapauksessa, kuten muunkin materiaalin, jota löytyy myös sisällissodan punaisella puolella taistelleiden kuolinpesistä. Tuossa aitosuomalaisuudessa olet osittain oikeassa, mutta siihen ei liity mitään poliittista. PS. Politiikkakin kiinnostaa historiallisessa mielessä ja kaikki suuntaukset ovat kiinnostuksen kohteina, mutta päivän politiikkan kiinnostus rajoittuu vain äänestämässä käymiseen ja siinäkin vallinnan olen tehnyt humanistisin en idealogisin perustein. Älä muuttele tekijänoikeuksia[edit]

Terve!

Olet ladannut järkyttävän suuren määrän muotokuvia sotilaista. Valitettavasti suuritöinen urakkasi on ollut pääosin turha, sillä lähes kaikki nämä kuvat ovat tekijänoikeuden suojaamia. Studiomuotokuvat ovat taidevalokuvia, joita ei saa käyttää vapaasti ennen kuin 70 vuotta on kulunut tekijän kuolemasta. Se, että yrität käyttää kuville tägiä PD-Finland, ei toimi, sillä on todella hankala todistaa kuvien olleen 70 vuotta julkaistuina nimettöminä. Älä siis yritä muokata niitä "suojaan".

Toisaalta on hyvä huomata, että Saksassa otetut jääkärikuvat ovat (lähes) kaikki tekijänoikeuden suojaamia, sillä Saksan tekijänoikeuslaki suojaa myös yksinkertaisia valokuvia. Poikkeus on Aarne Sihvon kalterijääkärikuva, joka on Venäjän tekijänoikeuden alainen ja {{PD-RusEmpire}}-mallineen kanssa vapaa.

Haloo! Jos kuva on otettu Suomessa vuonna 1918 niin millä perusteella olet poistamassa niitä. Suomen armeija kun ei ole koskaan ottanut omiin tarkoituksiinsa kuvia ns, taiteellisessa merkityksessä ja SA-kuvia on lupa käyttää kunhan lähde SA mainitaan julkaisun yhteydessä. Mitä tuleen Saksassa otettuihin jääkärikuviin niin, jos sinulla on parempaa tietoa kuvien ottopaikoista niin ilman muuta poista vain kuvat ei siinä mitää, mutta ei ilman hyvää perustelua ns. musta tuntuu ei kelpaa. Nuo kuvat eivät ole Suomen puolustusvoimien ottamia. Vuonna 1918 oli tapana käydä yksityisillä valokuvaajilla. Näin tehtiin molemmilla puolilla. Samoin toisen maailmansodan aikana otetut sotilasmuotokuvat on otettu yksityisissä studioissa. (Tämänhän näkee jo kuvien erinomaisesta laadusta). Vaikka niistä olisikin tullut kappale puolustusvoimille, kuvaaja on yksityinen ja tekijänoikeudet ovat voimassa 70 vuotta kuvaajan kuoleman jälkeen. No jos sinula on parempaa tietoa niin silloinhan teet niin kuin parhaaksi näet. Oma olettamukseni on se että kuvat ovat SA-arkistoista koska ne on julkaissut Puolustusvoimain sotahistoriallinen osasto.
