Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

@Globetrotter19: Én sajnos itt a commonson nem tudok ebben segíteni, mert itt nem vagyok admin de közben meglehetősen eszkalálódott a helyzet és egy kicsit én jobban képbe kerültem: röviden össszefoglalva: a Wikidata szerkesztései vissza lettek állítva, itt a commonson szintén, az enwikin leürítve a szócikk ellenőrizhetetlen információk betömködése miatt, illetve egy csomó projektben blokkolva lettek zoknibábjai. A legújabb fejleményként a Budavári Labirintus cikkről itt indítottam egy törlési megbeszélést, örömmel fogadnám, ha kifejtenéd ott a véleményedet. @Hystrix: Hi Hystrix, you are right, indeed, after so much time it is not easy to find the real source of a photo, however the situation is more complicated: the former operator of the cave posts threatening comments on huwiki on the talk page of the article, demanding removal of copyrighted material. He claims his material is used without permission. The photos are not linked to the article any more. I do not find it confirmed that that they have been created by user:Krokip and he is allowed to publish them under free license, considering that they are of very low resolution and alsmost all of them can be found on the webpage of the former operator. In addition, since a few days it can be read on the website that in spite of the court rulings the operator of the cave (the new operator) deliberately tries to mislead the public with the aid of a few wikipedians. (Of course, we do not know of any court rulings, obviously this is plain threatening). The decision is yours, but I think these photos must be deleted due to their unclarified nature. Képek

A feltöltött képeim mind saját készítésűek. Ha csak közkincsű (60-70 éves) műveket lehet fényképezni, akkor csak a Zola kötetről készült kép maradhat, a kötet az 1920-as években lett kiadva [1]. 12akd (talk) 10:59, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

@12akd: Attól, hogy a huszas években lett kiadva még nem következik egyenesen, hogy közkincs régi, mivel a szerző elhunytát követ hetvenedik évben lenne közkincs, amennyiben ismert a szerző személye, amennyiben pedig ismeretlen, azt meg kell indokolni, hogy miért nem lehetséges a szerző személyének megállapítása. --Pallerti (talk) 11:05, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

Derzsi Elekes Andor uploads

I have reverted your copyvio tags, as the uploader has asserted: "All of the photos and vids in the Metapolisz DVD line are under Creative Commons and can be used even for commercial – for profit – purposes." An unproven claim, of course, but a claim to a free license nonetheless, making it ineligible to be a "clear copyright violation" as required by COM:CSD#F1. In these cases, we can use {{subst:npd}} to ask the uploader to provide evidence of a free license, or in the case of large batches like these, a COM:DR is preferred as it groups similar images together and ensures they are dealt with at once. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:36, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

@King of Hearts: The revert was not a good idea, you should have asked first. The so-called Metapolis was never released, it was never available for purchase, it was not available to the general public. This DVD is Andor Derzsi Elekes' own creation, for which he has collected the copyrighted works of other authors without permission. No trace of this Metapolisz DVD can be found except for the Commons project. Andor Derzsi Elekes has been banned from uploading images to huwiki for many years because he has uploaded copyrighted pictures manytimes and has refused to reveal more about the so-called Metapolisz DVD. Andor Derzsi Elekes changed the method for a while, he has new method: he uploads copyrighted images to Flickr under a CCBYSA license, and then specify this as the source on the commons upload description page. The Flickr bot checks and finds that OK, because the license on Flickr is indeed CCBYSA - but fake. You can ask anyone about the methods of Derzsi Elekes Andor on huwiki (@Regasterios, Hungarikusz Firkász, Grin, Burumbátor, and Xia: ), my statement will be confirmed. --Pallerti (talk) 18:07, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

@King of Hearts: It is exactly as Pallerti described. I agree that the nominations should not have been withdrawn. Andor Derzsi Elekes wasn't even alive (possibly a child) when the match tags were issued. He had no right to license the images. This is clear. This should not have required a DR (DeepL translation). @King of Hearts indeed, unfortunately that is the case. We have had a lot off issues with this person on huwiki because of these images. You can check the WikiCouncil decision that banned him from uploading photos to huwiki. You can use deepl translate if you like but in summary: he does not acknowledge that having a photo physically or digitally in his possession will not make him the copyright holder. There is no definitive proof that he is the copyright holder of all the photos on DVD he uses as "source" (which is his own compilation), because he has been proven to upload copyrighted images with that source, or public domain images stolen from elsewhere, and credits them as his own creation... By your long statements, you have shown exactly why it would have been better to create a DR: speedy deletion is only for simple cases that a patrolling admin can make a quick decision on without understanding the full context. The purpose of a speedy deletion is to save time, but tagging so many images as copyvio wastes admins' time by causing fragmentation of the rationale, when a single DR could have addressed all of them in the same place. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 21:15, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
