Hi! I was wondering why did you decide that this file is the object of copyright infringement? --Nurbek Matzhani (talk) 12:38, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I restored the file. But it lacks the permission (COM:OTRS) of the photographer Dementyev Roman. The specified link www.dementyev.kz does not work anymore. Hystrix (talk) 17:23, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My Brother's Blues.jpg[edit]

You deleted this image. I work for the artist who did this CD and am doing the Wiki page for him at his request ... I also am the artist and I composed the CD cover (my credit is actually on the CD). Therefore, it is my work (as I said it was when I uploaded it) and I should be able to freely use it. I would appreciate an answer and steps on how I can upload my own work to use on Wiki pages in the future without having to do this each time. Thank you so much. --Debraannclark (talk) 02:54, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This was speedy deleted by yourself as a copyvio, why? -- (talk) 11:29, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I dont know. Mysterious. --Hystrix (talk) 11:38, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File:Logo KM 3D.jpg wasn't deleted. Also not kept. I don't know if it would be PD-textlogo. If you think it should be, feel free to change the license. - Alexis Jazz 06:58, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I now see in the log you restored it saying "my mistake". I thought it was that bug again that caused deleted files randomly not to be deleted, but I was mistaken. However, the file is not properly "kept" now either and still has no valid license. - Alexis Jazz 10:32, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to keep it as a PD-textlogo. But I read here:
"The intellectual property rights and trademarks for all images, texts and logos (hereafter referred to as "material") that are stored in the database available at www.konicaminolta-images.eu are held – unless otherwise stated – by Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH, Europaallee 17, 30855 Langenhagen (hereafter referred to as "Konica Minolta"). Use of this material by third parties is only permitted in accordance with the following terms of use: I. Authorised users Use of the material is reserved for the following group of people: a. Authorised dealers, distributors, cooperation-partners or end-customers who are contractually bound to Konica Minolta or to group companies of Konica Minolta, b. Deleted. Thank you very much for your hint. Hystrix (talk) 17:10, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: Notification about possible deletion[edit]

I uploaded pictures which I took, but almost all files have been listed at 'Commons:Deletion requests.' They have been nominated for deletion. The reason for the nomination is 'Low resolution, no EXIF. Only one file within.' I think it is because there is no metadata. Is the reason 'NO metadata'? But is there any rule that the metadata should be included? I want to hear about more specific reason for deletion requests.

And, I took the picture with my smartphone and sent those pictures to my computer through SNS (not USB) and save them. During the process, can the metadata of picture be deleted? How can I resolve this problem? Should I delete the files and upload again the pictures with metadata?--Yeon So Jeong (talk) 04:57, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

--Pentachlorphenol (talk) 19:32, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Da kann ich Dir leider nicht helfen. Evtl. kannst Du im Forum nachfragen. Hystrix (talk) 17:17, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Football kit templates[edit]

Lol excuse me, I just got back home from work and am not exactly well tuned :-) You mean that you've turned Footballl kit templates into a disambiguation page for the several football codes kits? -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 20:04, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

«You mean that you've turned Footballl kit templates into a disambiguation page for the several football codes kits?» Yes «I just got back home from work and am not exactly well tuned» There's no hurry. Hystrix (talk) 20:39, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks, well done! -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 18:55, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am the creator of this text, which is based on PD material. Even though it is my own work, which I uploaded and agreed to release with CC-BY-SA, a "no permission" label was added to the page recently (and in my opinion mistakenly). In order to deal with this (unnecessary!) label, I sent a permission form to OTRS immediately on the morning of September 3 (the very day the no-permission label was added), but have not received a reply. And now the file itself, which is in current use on Wikimedia projects and has been for years, has been unilaterally deleted with a note that says "No permission since 3 September 2018" (!).

I therefore ask that the file be restored. Dovi (talk) 20:37, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can you send me the OTRS number? Hystrix (talk) 20:48, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Like I wrote, I have not received a reply to the permission letter I sent to OTRS on 3 September. Dovi (talk) 20:55, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You wrote a letter to OTRS and you don`t know the number. OK. On 3 September we have more than thousand Mails. Hystrix (talk) 21:21, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Why in the world would a letter to OTRS have a number? The number is in the reply from OTRS, which I haven't received. I'm sorry there is such a backlog at OTRS, but this file shouldn't have had a "missing permission" tag added in the first place, nor should it have been deleted. When someone does his best to follow the rules, and does so promptly, but there is a backlog and it takes time for OTRS to respond with a number, then simply leave the file in place in the meantime. Dovi (talk) 05:13, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Wait! I apologize! I just noticed that there is a number in the automatic reply email. I thought it was only in the final (human) approval. I submitted two OTRS requests on 3 September, and got two automatic replies. The numbers are: Ticket#2018090310001621 and Ticket#2018090310001658. Once again my apologies, I didn't understand that the number you were asking for was there. Dovi (talk) 05:17, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Dovi: The file is restored via OTRS number. Please check everything again and apologize for the trouble. Best regards, Hystrix (talk) 06:08, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you and sorry for the misunderstanding :-) Dovi (talk) 06:48, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think you accidetally deleted this?--BevinKacon (talk) 22:49, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, my mistake. Restored. Thank you very much for your hint. Hystrix (talk) 08:13, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

files removed from commons[edit]

Hello Hystrix,

i'm the author of the article "Covention furry" on the french Wiki, and i would like to know why you have removed the pics i had load on wikicomons to illustrate this article ? Those pics have been taken by a friend of mine, and i have the autorisation of use from him. There are no people's faces on those pics, and they have been shot in a public place.

Thanks for you answer --RawWriter (talk) 10:39, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @RawWriter: ,
the photos were marked with {{No permission since|month=September|day=5|year=2018}}. Such photos will be deleted after a short period of one week, for example, to avert possible damage to re-user. Your friend, the photographer or the rights holder, must send a permit to the OTRS team. Your sincerely, Hystrix (talk) 11:50, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ganz herzlichen Dank!!![edit]

LG, Hystrix (talk) 14:23, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Could you undelete File:Stefan Ostrowski.jpg ? The proper agreement has been just sent to OTRS. (Ticket#2018091510002698) Polimerek (talk) 20:09, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Hi, I'm new to wikimedia and I'm trying to create the page of an artist I work for. Her name is Letizia Gambi and she is an amazing Italian jazz singer who released 2 albums, nominated for Grammy awards and who worked with incredible musicians like Chick Corea,Ron Carter, Gato Barbieri and Lenny White and who had Sting support too. I've uploaded pictures that I took personally or that are published already on Letizia's website or on her cd booklets. We have the permissions but all the pictures have been deleted by someone like you did. Even a selfie that Letizia Gambi took herself was deleted. Could you kindly help me and explain me what should I do to not to have those media deleted ? (I'm in troubles even just trying to create her wikipedia page, but that part of my job!) Any help would be more than appreciate

Thank you

Marta

Hi Marta, especially if the photos have been published before, on websites or booklets, the permission of the photographer or rights holder is required. Further information can be found here OTRS/it. Best regards, Hystrix (talk) 14:50, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Uploads deletion[edit]

Please delete the file called Jetstar Airbus A320 inflight (09.07.2018).jpg because I no longer want it, So sorry if I made any mistakes, If I made mistakes, I didnt commit them on purpose. Sorry for any inconvenience and pls dont dont block me or anything else.

and the upload File:F70 Alliance (vertical stabiliser).jpg is definitely my work, 100% serious and just as it says in source own work so please dont delete it or nominate it for deletion

How can I recover the pictures[edit]

Hello,

I'm not clear as to why the pictures on the account I edited for Chance Thomas were deleted. The profile picture he owns and authorized me to use, the picture of the group I took it myself and the picture with the books was taken by Chance personally. How do I go about restoring these pictures?Kdvr9 (talk) 06:06, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please see COM:OTRS. The photographer or rights holders must send a permission to the OTRS team. Regards, Hystrix (talk) 15:23, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File:Criegee 2.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

De-adminship warning (Aug 2019)[edit]

This talk page in other languages:

Dear Hystrix. I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section/Aug-Sep 2019 within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship. 4nn1l2 (talk) 01:33, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Uploads by Malrite/Bruce Adler[edit]

Hi, this request is about images uploaded by Malrite (talk · contributions · Move log · block log · uploads · Abuse filter log that were deleted in 2018. I believe they were mistakenly tagged as "no permission" because the EXIF credited "Bruce Adler", but it looks like the user and Mr. Adler are one and the same. All the uploads from this account are Bruce Adler photos.

Please let me know if this is possible or not. Thanks for your time! Ytoyoda (talk) 17:09, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Report[edit]

Hello, please take a look at this report: Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#Files named with meaningless/disruptive names (motivated renaming was reverted without any valid reason) as these are serious everyday violations of the Commons rules and protection of meaningless names (in this case, Kalumny which translates as Columns). User Kazimier Lachnovič with filemover rights constantly performs violations of the Commons rules, creates instability issues and protects meaningless names, thus creates confusion. His Commons admin rights previously were lifted, but it is clear that it is not enough. -- Pofka (talk) 17:13, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
