Turner

Thanks for changing the name back. That was a study as the title said. Here's the final work at the Royal Academy: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:J.M.W._Turner_Dolbadern_Castle,_1800.jpg which is twice as large. Philafrenzy (talk) 19:14, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Look

May I ask EXACTLY WHAT your problem is?! What have I actually done to get blocked?! I sense a tiny bit of power getting to ones head. Which is unfair and stupid. I've done nothing wrong. For a second time. Was happily contributing away and then you go and mess it all up again. WHY?!

  • Thank you for admitting to being a sock. IP blocked. I don't know what you're not understanding about the fact that you are indefinitely blocked here and insist on evading that original block (one I did not place). Courcelles 00:37, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Im not importing problems, I am discussing them

Courcelles, I am not importing problems, I am attempting to discuss them, such the compulsion of you and others to vandalize positive contributions out of spite, against policy. But, since policy does not apply to you and you seem pretty set to ensure that doesn't change, there isn't much I can do I guess. Maybe someday you will either commit to caring more about the project than keeping your power or the community will get smart and remove the tools from admins like you who are willing to violate Wikipedia's policies to get what you want. You know, the whole abusive admin thing I have been talking about for the last couple years that you and your friends banned me over so you could continue to do whatever you wanted. Reguyla (talk) 02:24, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

  • Maybe I wasn't clear enough: Go away. Unless you have something actually related to Commons to discuss, stop posting on this page. If you want to discuss your ban, contact arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org. Courcelles 02:40, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
    • If I have something commons related I need help with Courcelles I will ask someone else that is actually here to help. As for contacting the Arbcom, all you do is ignore or delete my emails and you and the other members of Arbcom have already committed to doing whatever you have to too keep me banned. So that would be a pretty pointless act and you know it. Reguyla (talk) 02:45, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
      • As you suggested I sent an email to the Arbcom. I expect it to be ignored but I sent one. There is no reason why you and the others need to continue to make a disruption where none should exist just to prove a point and to punish me for believing that admins on Enwp should have to actually follow policy and not get what they want by either ignoring it or manipulating the outcome, which is what consistently happened to get me and keep me banned there. Everyone knows I am just trying to edit and improve the project and that my ban is only in place to protect admin privilege and to show the community what happens when you question admins. Any arguments to the contrary are flat lies. Reguyla (talk) 12:02, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
        • Was a request to not being enwp disputes here -- and even "go away" really not explicit enough for you? Okay. Stay off this page. Unless there is something explicitly about a local project, do not bring enwp issues to my talk page on any other project. Courcelles 19:48, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
          • Ok, then consider this a 2 way interaction ban then. You stay away from me and I will stay away from you. Fair enough? Reguyla (talk) 20:51, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
            • No, I will not consider that. Courcelles 04:46, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
              • Ok. I didn't think you would because it would be out of character for you to be collaborative and consider others feelings and interests other than your own. But I wanted to offer that as a consideration in an attempt to reduce the disruption you are causing.
              • Also, just a point of clarification. You really should be honest when making statements like you did on some of those articles. Instead of stating this one is actually useful, when in fact every single one of the articles you vandalized were useful, it might be better to just revert it back without the snide comments attempting to create a disruption. Just my opinion.Reguyla (talk) 13:14, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

I' glad to see you didn't revert all the edits I did. It's still disappointing to see you vandalize some though. My hope is after three years you and the others will quit finding petty reasons to create a disruption for no reason but I guess without drama you wouldn't have much to do. All I am trying to do is improve the project and I will contiune to do that regardless of whether you want me to or not. So, if you want to follow me for another 3, 5 or 10 years rather than do the right thing and remove my ban that shouldn't even exist, you can, but I don't think it's a very good use of your time nor is it in the spirit of building an encyclopedia. Reguyla (talk) 00:45, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

BTW, I still haven't gotten a response of any kind from the Arbcom about the email I sent. Since your the one that suggested sending them an email I thought I would let you know. Not that I expect them to do anything, but at least acknowledging they received the email would be nice. I would like to put an end to you and the other folks creating a disruption to punish me for being critical of some admins and the arbcom. Reguyla (talk) 02:04, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

renaming Battambang

Hello It doesn't matter if "Battambang1" is renamed into "Battambang Norry 2016 2" or another number instead of 1. Regards.--Io Herodotus (talk) 09:03, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

I think this has been dealt with? Courcelles 09:09, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Those aren't mine

I would tell you that those aren't mine but I know it wouldn't matter. Reguyla (talk) 20:47, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

You know, no matter how many times you vandalize my edits I am going to keep putting them back. Every one of those edits improves the project and every time you revert it you are just performing vandalism. With that said, thanks for at least acknowledging some were helpful. I am happy to discuss reconciliation whenever you want to stop performing vandalism though.Reguyla (talk) 02:04, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
I'm surprised you didn't go after my new account on ENWP yet. I'm already up to almost 150 edits in the last couple days with a couple articles created even along with the normal vandalism reversions and WikiProject tagging. If you haven't found it by Friday I'll change to a different one to protect those edits. You can get some easy log actions and edits by vandalizing my edits some more and showing who isn't here to create an encyclopedia and that you really don't care about improving Wikipedia. I would of course prefer you didn't, since they do improve the project, but I just don't trust you to do the right thing anymore. Cheers! Reguyla (talk) 23:57, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
And I see you left those accounts, knowing they are not me and you wonder why I don't trust you? When you credit me for stuff I didn't do, discard the good that I do for the project and then vandalize my contributions because no one can do anything to you, it only reflects poorly on you, not me, regardless of how many fools believe you. If you cannot prove I did anything, then don't make up shit to accuse me of or violate policy to try to prove your own point with lies. Reguyla (talk) 17:38, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
So I am guessing at this point you have no intention of admitting that those accounts you associated to me, that never did one edit, weren't mine! I have no reason to create multiple accounts at once. I just create one at a time in order to edit and the only reason I am even doing that is because my regular account is blocked for petty reasons because I criticized admins. If you want me to stop creating new accounts then just unblock my account so I can edit. There is no reason for it to have ever been blocked in the first place. Reguyla (talk) 19:14, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Child protection question

I was debating with someone on Wikipedia here who linked an image File:Ann Owl 06.jpg that was posted by a now globally banned user. There is a question raised whether the model could be underage, and so it might be necessary to get rid of the image as a precaution - but I can't really say myself. I don't want to go to deletion request because it's slow and would further publicize the image, but I'm not so sure she's underage at all to report it to WMF, so I thought I should dump this one in some admin's lap and let you figure it out. And you had the most recognizable name on the admins list. Sorry! Wnt (talk) 13:43, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Perfect example of why we have COM:PCP as a principle, though I'm stretching its application a bit. Totally unused file with these concerns -- into the trash it goes. I'll run it by James Alexander just in case it is real enough to be reportable outside the WMF, but I'm doubting it. Still, we don't need to be hosting borderline cases! Courcelles 17:13, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

I see your vandalizing ENWP again

I see your vandalizing ENWP again. That's ok I'll revert that vandalism later. As many times as it takes. Unless of course someone beats me to it that is. Reguyla (talk) 16:30, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

I am going to keep reverting your vandalism as many times as it takes. If you don't want the project to improve then you should stop contributing because the project needs positive contributors not vandals. You need to stop vandalizing articles on Wikipedia. Just because you are an admin and an arbitrator is no excuse to vandalize other peoples work who are trying to improve the project. I am not going to let you and a few others that don't care about the project bully me out because I think admins should have to follow policy. All this vandalizing of content you are doing only proves my point that you not only should not be an arbitrator you should not be an admin. If you're not there to build an encyclopedia then you should find something else to do with your time. Reguyla (talk) 16:23, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Fixing WMF screenshots

Thanks for fixing the some screenshots uploaded by WMF staff. You should also be aware of Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by KHammerstein (WMF). I didn't mention it to Maggie because a) I didn't realise she'd sort things out so quickly and b) KHammerstein is no longer at the WMF. Still she uploaded loads of incorrectly tagged screenshots. I nominated only those which infringe the copyrights of volunteer contributors, since I did not have the time to analyse them all. BethNaught (talk) 07:14, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

  • Joy. I'll see what I can fix myself (later. It's 3 AM here), close those out, and flag Maggie Monday... no chance I'm going to dump this on her without fixing what I can, or let her know it exists on a weekend! Courcelles 07:27, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Greeetings, help me pleaseeeeeeee.

Greetings almighty Courcelles! Was wondering if maybe you would be able or willing to help mer? I am a person after all. I was blocked on the commons a while ago having uploaded several images (with valid licences) including a coat of arms that I made myself (Again with the relevant licence) burt that was deleted. I still have the coat of arms in the hope I can at some point upload it again for use on Wikipedia. So, please say you will help me. 89.243.32.86 20:00, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

It's really QUITE SIMPLE.

HELP ME?! I'm asking for help not a limb of yours. Don't be an ignorant bureaucrat please. 89.243.33.153 17:36, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Your VFC installation method is deprecated

Hello Courcelles, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Can you please also rename 4-7 one down?  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 21:11, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello

I'm writing you as one of the most active Commons users right now. Since a while now, the idea of a dedicated Commons conference has been floating around. But since the last Wikimania concrete steps have been taken to actually make it happen next year. If you're interested in participation or maybe willing to help organize the first ever Commons Conference, I invite you to check out the project page and leave your comments; or just show your support for the idea, by signing up.

Cheers,

Category discussion warning

Sonic the Hedgehog has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

???

The permission of the image is set. SuZumiya (talk) 00:32, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

No notification

I noticed your reply at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Christine Løvmand - Et stykke med forårsblomster - KMS212 - Statens Museum for Kunst.jpg and the fact that I have way less deletion notifications on my talk page. What script are you using? Does it follow redirects or did it stop doing that? Multichill (talk) 16:18, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

I actually don't know what script I'm using, it leaves a "Nominate for deletion" link on the left hand side of the page as well as some other links like "No Permission", "No Source", etc. (FYI, I still use Monobook) Courcelles 16:56, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
I did a bit of digging and I might have found the source of the problem, see MediaWiki_talk:Gadget-AjaxQuickDelete.js#User_page_redirects_not_followed_anymore?. Multichill (talk) 19:22, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

De-adminship warning (Aug 2019)

This talk page in other languages:

Dear Courcelles. I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section/Aug-Sep 2019 within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship. 4nn1l2 (talk) 01:33, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:35, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
