Vampyroteuthis infernalis Chun 1910.jpg has better resolution as compared to Vampyroteuthis illustration.jpg, and Vampyroteuthis infernalis.jpg is digitally altered (background removed). FPC Lambis truncata

Hallo Citron, could you please explain, what you mean by "clean the borders of the shell on the right"? The borders are correct IMO. If you refer to the shell in the right bottom margin, all you can see belongs to the shell (it was photographed in front of a black background), although it might seem to be not correctly cut. Perhaps you can annotate the area in my picture and then give me some information on my discussion page, what you mean exactly. If it is necessary to correct, I will do so. Category corrections

Thanks for correcting the categories of my uploads. If you have any suggestions to help you in categorizations please let me know. I upload images for the Wikisource Popular Science project where there are an estimated ~15,000 images, many of whom deal with marine life, an area in which I am very interested but ignorant.Ineuw talk page on en.ws 18:51, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

I read your note on Wikisource and if you look through the images of the Category:Popular Science Monthly illustrations by volume, there are several fish images need to be properly categorized. For example, I noticed this:[:[File:PSM V11 D011 Short nosed gar pike.jpg]] someone categorized it as unknown fish.

Category:Marine life of Haiti

Citron - A quick question: Over the weekend I uploaded around 70 images under the subject category. I sent the category link to a friend and when they view it, only 17 images appear in the category while I can see all 85 that are in there. Is this a problem with my friend's browser ? I would prepare the nomination(s), and write "support as co-nominator", so that you can also add yourself as "support as co-nominator" before we then make the nomination public. I somewhat sympathise with J Milburn's concern here - the colours look at bit strong on my monitor, possibly with a hue shift relative to the original? I know that you're familiar with image restoration, so I'm curious what you did there and why. It's so difficult to determinate the truth colors of a coral, because in the water the light spectrum is essentially blue, Nick use a light projector for his subwater pictures. But the light spectrum is not natural. The red light is fastly absorbed by the water. So I have add a little bit red, but I have not changed the green. So, maybe is too much, if you would, I can change the red saturation. :) --Citron (talk) 10:27, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Salut,

je ne trouve pas la photo super super jolie (désolé), mais là c'est vraiment personnel. Je pense qu'il faut la prendre cette photo, et j'estime qu'elle mérite le status FP. J'aurais utilisé des réglages différents pour minimiser la prépondérance du flash dans l'éclairage. f/13, et ISO 100, c'est trop sombre à la base, mais plus facile à dire qu'à faire vu l'environnement, et on n'a pas forcément le temps de trop y penser. Category:PD-scan without primary license

Hi, I noticed that you are uploading a lot of images using {{PD-scan}} license. I am trying to clean up maintenance Category:PD-scan without primary license with images which do not provide the primary license telling users why is the original source in PD. I started with 80k files and I am now down to 1.5k, and a lot of them are yours. Could you help me figure out rational why is the original in PD? I assume that some of them should be {{PD-US}} and some {{PD-old-70}} however without creator templates (to help verify {{PD-old-70}}) or date and place of publication (to verify {{PD-US}}) - I have hard time figuring out what license should go with what image. Hi, I thought the template {{PD-scan}} was sufficient, I realized recently that it was not the case. In fact, all my files with this template are under {{PD-old-70}}, because all these books are in the public domain. Most people using {{PD-scan}} thought it was sufficient. However the text of the template claims that original is in PD and there is often no way to tell why. Hi. Your dramatic illustration of Mesonychoteuthis is widely cited, but the scale is not accurate, even with recent revisions.

Would you be willing to replace the current file here:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Calmarcolossal.jpg With this version: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Calmarcolossal2.jpg

The mantle is 2.5 meters long, and there are pictures of humans next to a scale model on the web, which make it easy to scale the diver to a more accurate size.

I don't say that the scale is really accurate, because I based on estimates : lenght = 10 m

The specimen with the mantle of 2.5 meters long, is a sub-adult as say here.

Your version seems to me a little exaggerated, if you based on the 4.5 meters long specimen. The specimen doesn't seem to 500 kg and I find it too small.
