all your pictures[edit]

Hallo Aroche,

I see you are uploading many pictures with the license {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}}. That's excellent. You are also organizing them well. The statement: Source : [1] however is puzzling, as it suggests that you took them from that site, while your license suggests that you made the pictures yourself. Could you please explain this difference?

Feel free to reply in French if that comes easier to you than English, I read a little bit of French so I'll try to understand it.

Catégories[edit]

Salut, Aroche, content de voir que tu t'attaques cette fois-ci à flickr ! Pour les espèces que tu importes, il est important de les catégoriser précisement avec le nom scientifique de l'espèce, de façon à pouvoir les repérer plus facilement, comme par exemple avec ceci. Salut, merci pour les versions nettoyées des images. Je crois que c'est préférable de les charger sous un nouveau nom par exemple en remplacant 0 par 1 ou en ajoutant clean. Il faut alors ranger les versions propres dans la catégorie Thomé, Flora von Deutschland (modified).

Image:Veronica agrestis1.jpg is not Veronica agrestis. I believe that it might be Veronica persica instead. I added a note about the reasons for my opinion on the discussion page connected to the image. Apart from this the source link is broken. I suppose that you moved your pages elsewhere. You might consider moving the image to Veronica persica or to Category:Unidentified_Veronica and correcting the broken link. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Bonjour Mister Aroche, je suis tombé par hasard sur le blason de Gouville-sur-Mer dont je suis l'auteur et j'ai été quelque peu étonné de la manière dont vous le représentez et le blasonnez, sans doute par ignorance de sa genèse liée à l'histoire même de notre commune. Les armoiries de Gouville ont été créées en 1999 à l'occasion du jumelage avec la ville d'Harburg, en Souabe (Bavière). Blasonnées par moi-même quelque peu féru en héraldique et approuvées par le Conseil municipal, elles sont désormais les armoiries officielles de notre ville. L'histoire de Gouville se partage dès l'origine entre terre et mer, d'où la partition entre sinople et azur qui sont également les couleurs du département de la Manche.

Du côté "terre", en 1789 le territoire du Gouville actuel se partageait entre trois paroisses, du nord au sud : Montcarville, Gouville et Linverville. Au moment de la création des communes, à la Révolution, il y eut quelque temps trois communes distinctes créées à partir de ces paroisses. Mais en 1792, alors que les curés de Montcarville et de Linverville refusaient de prêter serment, seul celui de Gouville adoptait la constitution civil du clergé et, en récompense, une seule commune, celle de Gouville, est venue rassembler les trois paroisses.D'où deux coqs tournés à "dextre" et un seul à "sénestre", car n'oublions pas que déjà à cette époque les traditionnalistes siégeaient à droite dans l'Assemblée et les progressistes à gauche. Le choix du "dextre" et du "senestre" au lieu du "contourné" explique plus clairement l'historique du blasonnement et éclaire en partie "l'enquerre" qui en découle normalement. D'autre part les coqs qui représentent les clochers dont ils sont les girouettes sont fixés sur une axe qui doit apparaître.

Du côté mer, le phare de Gouville qui fut bâti sur le rocher du Sénéquet à la suite du naufrage de l'Antilope était habité par des gardiens régulièrement relevés par mer et son entrée ne se situe pas au niveau du rocher lui-même souvent immergé mais à mi-hauteur de la tour peinte en noir vers le bas et en blanc vers le haut. D'autre part le rocher qui apparaît à mi-marée est ainsi symbolisé sur l'écu et l'onde d'où il émerge est blasonnée "d'azur" et se confond sur l'écu avec l'azur du ciel, seul le mouvement ondulé apparaît au pied du rocher, l'onde ne doit donc avoir aucune épaisseur.

J'espère que ces explications vous permettront de mieux comprendre mon intervention, alors que d'autre part je suis bien heureux pour notre commune que ses armes apparaissent sur le web.

Hello Aroche. First of all excuse for my english(i'm not english!). I've noticed that you have categorized two file (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flora_Appennino_Tosco_Emiliano_001.JPG and http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flora_Appennino_Tosco_Emiliano_002.JPG) as Gentiana acaulis. One other wikipedian say to me that flower was a Gentiana clusii (you can read at the address http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussioni_utente:Innocenti.rob). It's wrong? Or may be possible? Bonjour, ce n'est pas par plaisir que j'ai demandé sa suppression, car cette image a une grande valeur encyclopédique. Je me suis simplement reporté à la politique de confidentialité de la Royal Society. Je n'ai jamais vu de leurs travaux récents sous licence CC-BY-SA, en témoigne la catégorie de Commons. De plus, l'importateur de l'image semble avoir déjà eu des soucis de copyrights. Peut être que je me trompe, mais il serait plus prudent de contacter l'auteur de l'article. Hello Aroche, you uploaded this image from flickr. Are you sure that it really shows a Gekko ulikovskii/Gekko badenii? I doubt this according to the description given in literature. But I have never seen them in reality, so I might be wrong. Hi Aroche, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

You edited User:Aroche/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
Though, that change appears to introduce 1 new jshint issue — the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019[edit]

Le concours Wiki Loves Monuments France est de retour et ouvert jusqu'à 31 septembre ! Déjà 8310 photos ont été importés cette année, vous aussi rejoignez le concours !

Le concours concerne tous les monuments présents dans la base Mérimée (qu'ils soient classés, inscrits ou simplement classés). De l'imposant château aux ruines industrielles, de la chapelle au coin de la rue aux mégalithes en forêt, c'est un impressionnant patrimoine qui attend d'être photographié et documenté. Où que vous soyez il y a des monuments autour de chez vous. Enfin, vous pouvez mettre en ligne autant de photos que vous le souhaitez de ces monuments. Pour information, le règlement est disponible sur le site du concours. Nous attendons vos photos avec impatience !

Les plus belles photos seront sélectionnées par un jury national composé d'amateurs et de professionnels, de contributeurs à Wikimedia Commons et d'acteurs du patrimoine. Un jury international sélectionnera ensuite des meilleures photographies mondiales.
