Photo usage[edit]

Hello!

I'm about to publish a book about the Estrela Mountain Dog, a Portuguese canine breed, and would like to include the following of your photos: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:F-auricularia_M_-_HngFBK20080915_A023.jpg

I'm including photo credits in subtitles, so if you don't mind my using this picture, I'll be glad to credit it to you - but would need to know in which name. So please can you reply to my address pontadapinta@gmail.com? Thank you kindly.

Best regards. Manuela Paraíso

Identification suggestion[edit]

Hey, Arp... not sure if you'd notice without a pointer: User_talk:Arp/ID-requests_Tst-1. It looks like the discussion has quietened down over the past few months, hopefully it won't be abandoned entirely. I've created a test page to try to transclude: File_talk:Orchard_Oriole_(immature_male).jpg/Identification, but I didn't want to edit your proposal page itself. What do you think? Hi Arp, this discussion popup again in a discussion on my talk page. So I'm ping you again to know the current status of your attempt. Jee 17:47, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Licensing Image[edit]

Hello,

I hope that you're well? I'm currently working for Chump Production, a UK television production company. We're currently working on a brand new TV show, and we would really like to use this image that I believe is yours - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAF_Daffodil#/media/File:DAF_31_(1965)_frontright.jpg

I would love to be able to talk to you more about this, and you can contact me on Adrian.S@chump.tv

We would be able to credit and pay you for your work, but I really do need to know ASAP if we can use it or not.

Thanks again, Adrian — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 31.221.27.90 (talk) 14:56, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Permission please...[edit]

Hi. I'd like to use your picture from the Wikipedia entry for the Harlequin Ladybird in one of my talks about alien species. Thank you for allowing this, but who should I name in the credits at the end of my show? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benaldiss (talk • contribs) 13:11, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Benaldiss. As stated here you don´t need to give me credit, but if you wish to do so anyway you could either use Arp of my full name Arp Kruithof. Cheers, Arp — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.204.141.198 (talk) 13:30, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi renaming files needs to be done appropriately. Changing a name if you identify a species does not obviate a more generic classification, and it is not an "obvious" error. Feel welcome to change the information. Alternatively have a conversation with uploader about the files that they uploaded and reach a consensus on the file renaming.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:48, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Drewth, answering from phone, not logging in...
I'm afraid I don't understand. If the image is showing a different species than the filename suggests, it would seem to me that the filename is 'obviously' wrong and it should be renamed. With that I make a point of using any naming scheme the original filename seems to follow and just substitute the correct species name in that. If the original uploader wants a different name, I suggest a new request be issued. I've never yet experienced a case where this happened, so it seems a total waste of time to go and discuss this beforehand on every misidentification. Time I don't have, and certainly have no intention wasting on bogus procedure. The name is wrong, I request to correct it. Done. Period. Wiki wiki 'member? Also I do make a point of reclassifying, changing descriptions and categories. If you think I went wrong with that somewhere, please provide a link and explain why. picture[edit]

Dear Sir, I am coordinating the publication of a new textbook of zoology (in Italian) and I wonder whether it is possible to use your picture published in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File%3APhalangium_opilio_with_parasitic_Mite_larvae_20060729_top.jpg. In the case, you will be credited for it. Best regards and thank you for your attention. Loriano Ballarin
