Not much here

"I am no artist; yet I contribute; so I am."

Nothing particularly interesting about me, though if you are desperate for a little more, look at User:Billinghurst.

I am a great believer in the position of Commons as the source of all our files wherever possible. So I have done most of my work through moving files from Wikipedia and Wikisource to Commons. I do see that things are not always working smoothly between the WMF projects and Commons, and that sometimes it is hard for the other projects to get their needs met in a timely manner, and with lots of work to do that is not unsurprising.

Looking to help?

If you are looking for things to do, and would liked to help two projects at the same time, then have we got a deal for you! Wikisource has a lot of images that need to be extracted from the original sources files (djvu extraction is icky) and for these images to be uploaded to Commons, then linked within the Wikisource transcription projects. Most of the files are hosted at Commons, with links back to the original files, often at Archive.org where we extract a better quality image from the available files.

DjVu files

DjVu files are becoming central to the functioning of Wikisource in production of works in our library, through the Extension:Proofread Page (instructions at Wikisource:Proofread Page). These multipage files have associated text and image layer per page, and Wikisource needs the alignment of names in both projects to allow for best use of these tools. Though the images from djvu files are less than special.

Ad hoc bot runs for Wikisource works

While I am willing to consider ad hoc and smaller bot runs for general tasks, the primary function of SDrewthbot is to update files of works at Commons that are used at the Wikisources.
