Pferde, Katzen sowie manches Strandgut gehören schlicht zu den (wenigen) Motiven, die mir nicht weglaufen. ;-) Im übrigen bin ich immer wieder fasziniert, was unsere Umwelt an atemberaubenden Stimmungen und Eindrücken anbietet - wenn wir uns nur ein wenig Zeit nehmen, hinzuschauen (und wenn dann zufällig eine Kamera zur Hand ist ...).

An Deiner Galerie gefallen mir übrigens nicht nur die wunderschönen und beeindruckenden Motive, sondern dass hier trotz hoher technischer Präzision die Bilder Atmosphäre haben, mich als Betrachter einfangen. Ich wünsche Dir einen schönen 4. Advent und friedlich-fröhliche Feiertage. Upps, das ist ja eine Überraschung! Du bist ja ganz schön mutig! ;-)

Ganz schnell an die Grenze kommt imho leider nicht das Objektiv, sondern vor allem der Sensor der Kamera - die Panasonic Lumix TZ5 ist halt weder Bridge noch DSLR und Fotos bereits deshalb für viele Fotofreaks nicht ganz zu Unrecht schwer akzeptabel. Wünschen ist eine prima Idee *schmunzel*, wird aber auch kurz vor Weihnachten nicht helfen: eine DSLR (sogar eine Bridge) ist für mich nämlich schlicht zu schwer und zu unhandlich. Einen Vorteil hat "meine kleine Kompakte" aber: sie darf häufig mit und wenn ich es dann noch schaffe, sie rechtzeitig auszupacken, entgeht auch ein Graureiher seinem "Steckbrief" nicht (ein Glück, dass er sich ob der unbetreitbaren mangelnden technischen Qualität nicht beschweren kann *grins*). na das hat ja geklappt mit dem Quallenbild ;-) und jetzt zur DSLR: ich wollte da nicht über die Qualität maulen. Bei ein paar wenigen Bilder ist mir aufgefallen, dass es an den äusseren Rändern ein bisschen verschwommen wird. Nichts dramatisches, es stört mich eigentlich genauso so viel wie den Reiher (an den du übrigens recht nahe rangekommen bist!!). Das mit dem Gewicht und der Handlichkeit ist echt das grösste Manko der DSLR. Darum habe ich auch noch eine kleine Ixus 50 ;-) Aaaaaaaaber, mit einer Grossen zu spielen macht schon viel Spass!! Es lohnt sich mal damit herumzuprobieren. Hallo danke für die vielen Bilder vom Botanical Garden of Meran. Ich hatte einige dieser Bilder (zB. das hier: und das hier aus der Kategorie Category:Unidentified plants rausgenommen zum Teil zu klein zum identifizieren sind bzw. es viel zu viele Pflanzen drin hat als das es Sinn machen würde diese alle zu identifizieren. Beim ersten Foto zB hat es vorne links Lavendel es würde keinen Sinn machen den in die Kategorie Category:Lavandula zu schieben. Dann habe ich ein paar deiner Bilder in die Kategorie Unidentifizierte Kakteen geschoben (offensichtlich weil Kakteen auf dem Foto waren ;-) ) und du hast noch mal die Kategorie Unidentifizierte Pflanzen hinzugefügt. Nun, das ist nicht nötig (und ich habe diese Edits wieder rückgängig gemacht) da die Kategorie Unidentifizierte Kakteen in der Kategorie Unidentifizierte Pflanzen liegt.

Ach ja, noch was: Falls du noch mal dort hingehen solltest, mach doch jeweils ein Foto von dem Schild auf dem der Name der Pflanze draufsteht *smile* Das würde vieles seeehr viel einfach machen. Leider kann man die Schilder fast nie lesen. Es hat übrigens ein paar richtig gute Fotos dabei!!! Liebe Grüsse --Amada44 (talk) 20:57, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Ich finde es grundsätzlich gut, dass die Community so schnell reagiert. Ich bin ja kein Spezialist auf diesem Gebiet. Darum schnappe ich mir die Fotos wieder auf und füge meine ursprünglichen Unidentifizierten Kategorien wieder ein, um Generalisten und Spezialisten zu erreichen, wissend, dass dies dann irgendwann, spätestens von mir, korrigiert wird.
Übrigens:Das mit dem Fotografieren der Schilder habe ich mir natürlich immer vorgenommen, ich versuche mich da in Zukunft zu verbessern.
Aber grundsätzlich ist bei mir kein Bild erledigt, bevor es eine wissenschaftliche Kategorisierung erhalten hat. Von diesem Moment kann ich natürlich nur zuschauen und lernen.

Herzlichen Dank für die schnelle Antwort. Ich finde es sehr gut, wie man auf diesem Platz miteinander kommuniziert.
Grundsätzlich bin ich wegen der Überkategorisierung mit Dir voll einverstanden. Ich werde also versuchen, in Zukunft, die von mir angenommene tiefste Kategorisierung einzusetzen.
Mir Deiner Anmerkung zu den Urlaubsfotos bin ich einverstanden, allerdings habe ich das Problem, dass ich bei Eingabe einer einzigen Kategorie einen Markup bekomme (Cat:1). Solange die Bilder aber nicht gelöscht werden, kann ich damit leben.
Strukturierung ist übrigens eine "Leidenschaft" von mir, da ich in zwei grossen Bauprojekten in der Schweiz als Controller eingesetzt war. Ich könnte mich da in Zukunft auch vermehrt um die Kategorisierung in wiki kümmern. Im Moment habe ich aber noch zuviel anderes am Hals.

It appears I like the airport terminal's floor. I notice that you speak German so I have a question for you. I saw Schneebrille which links to Ski goggles on the English Wikipedia. If the German article is about ski goggles then the picture is incorrect and the article would probably be better with File:Sport goggles.jpg. I had a look at it. Schneebrille means snow-goggles so the picture there is okay (maybe one should change the link to the english WP?). I added the picture at Schneeblindheit. I'm feeling mellow, and with your kind words, more assured and happier. It wouldn't be the first time I mocked the pontifications of an administrator.  :D  Still, I'm unsure of my usefulness in much of my categorizing, though I'm also unsure if pictures of several hundred naked women are really needed on the varying WM projects. Not that I'm complaining, but again, I wonder if 1/2 my categories are really that useful given the Scope; and thought I'd bring it up at the Village Pump.

well, I am also not sure about the usefulnes of so many images. But to be fair, there are tonnes of images of flowering cherry trees and my guess would be, that 90% are also not useful. I actually don't mind at all those images. I think though, that it would be good to have a filter option for eg. schools and people who feel offendend. The commons are very closly linked to wikipedia and so there is a sort of responsibility to stay somewhat educational. There are lots of good images which would be clearly explicit but are also highly educational. Then there are some images like this one where I wouldn't be sure if there is much educational value to it which dosen't make the image bad or anything like that. I guess there has to be a boarder somewhere and differnt users have very differnet opinions to where that border should be. Amada44 (talk) 18:28, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

SVG to PNG Conversion

Thanks for you help and comments via the help desk on this issue. I have now completely restyled the three files I uploaded and this has overcome the conversion problem. Unfortunately I cannot now upload a replacement for the File:EnglishMonarchy01.svg as the "Upload a new version of this file" option is missing. I need to upload this because when you used Inkscape it made a hash of the text styling (One of the reasons I do not like using it!). I am not sure of the procedure here but I am assuming that either you can delete your version or possibly the whole lot so that I can upload the new version. Sorry but I have the same problem with File:Test.svg. I suspect that this is because I am a new user. I do not think it is a good idea for either of us for me to ask you to upload new versions of files that I created. So my preference is to do it myself. I have not been able to figure out why there is this limitation but it does seem odd. danke für den prompten hinweis zum bilder drehen. vielleicht können sie mir bei einem zweiten problem helfen, das mir sehr viel zeit und nerven raubt. von den fotos, die ich hochladen will, sind immer wieder mal einige dabei, die ums verrecken nicht angenommen werden. da ich immer nach dem selben muster vorgehe, und es meistens klappt, kann ich mir das problem nicht erklären. es handelt sich um fotos aus der selben serie und es ist immer zeitraubend, das formular jedesmal neu auszufüllen. in einer roten zeile steht, dass entweder die quelladresse nicht stimmt (die ja immer automatisch abgerufen wird) oder keine lizenzierung angegeben wurde (was ich immer mache).Sundar1 (talk) 13:59, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Ne, DSLR geht einfach nicht, solange die Dinger für meine kleinen Hände zu groß und die Kamera mit allem drum und dran zu schwer und unhandlich ist - ich habs zwischenzeitlich ernsthaft ausprobiert! Schade, aber das sind einfach Abstriche, die ich machen muss (aber immerhin: ich kann überhaupt fotografieren *wasnglück*). Allerdings: zur Zeit probiere ich die Fuji HS 10 aus - ja ich weiß, ist keine DLR und wird / wurde in den Foren zum Teil ganz böse zerrissen, ist aber eine Kamera, die ich gerade noch halten kann (ist aber hart an der Grenze und könnte ein Grund werden, sie in den nächsten Tagen zurück zu geben), mit einem traumhaften Zoombereich und schnell genug für das, was ich derzeit am liebsten fotografiere (auch wenn ich leider die meisten Bilder gar nicht Commons zur Verfügungs stellen darf so von wegen mögliche "kommerzielle Nutzung", hier gehört wirklich lizenzrechtlich was geändert). Also, *smile* . Die Bilder mit der FinePix HS10 hast du gut gemacht ;-) Ich finde (ohne irgend was über die cam gelesen zu haben), dass die Kamera wenig Details aufzeichnet. Die Bilder sehen bei 100% teilweise etwas matschig aus. Ich hab über die Nikon D3000 folgendes gelesen: Die Kamera ist sehr kompakt und eher für kleine Hände geeignet, der Handgriff lässt sich aber gut "anpacken" . Na wenn das nix für dich ist? Nein, ich möchte dich gar nicht zu etwas überreden mit dem du dann kein Spass hast. Ich überlege mir übrigens eine etwas neuere DSLR zu besorgen. Ich bin bei meiner mit dem Bildrauschen nicht so zufrieden. Ziemlich sicher wieder Nikon (wegen den Objektiven halt...) Das mit dem "Matsch" der HS10 wurde vielfach diskutiert, das erste Upgrade war hier wohl sogar noch eine Verschlimmbesserung. Ich habe heute die Firmware Version 1.02 aufgespielt und bin jetzt selbst mal gespannt, ob und welche Unterschiede ich mit meinem technisch unverständigen Blick feststelle. Schade, dass wir heute besch.... Fotografierwetter hatten. Zur DSLR: die Größe und Handlichkeit des Bodies ist eine Sache (danke trotzdem für deinen Tipp), mit Objektiven (insbesondere im Zoombereich) wird das ganze für mich aber einfach zu schwer. Sogar die im Verhältnis recht leichte HS10 - nach knapp zwei Stunden war mir heute die Lust am bummelnden Fotografieren gründlich vergangen. So, genug gejammert -

nun *smilesmile* zu dir: Du hast wunderschöne Bilder hochgeladen - nicht nur über die hungrige Eichhörnchenmutter habe ich geschmunzelt. Auch wenn ich verstehen kann, dass man seine Fotos auch technisch möglichst perfekt haben möchte - ich persönlich finde die Atmosphäre, den Gesamteindruck, die Aussagen eines Fotos immer noch viel wichtiger. Und da gehört deine Galerie zu denen, bei denen ich immer wieder gerne vorbei schaue. :-)

Nichtsdestotrotz - wenn du aufrüsten magst, wünsche ich dir viel Erfolg bei der Qual der Wahl und dass du möglichst bald das für dich richtige Modell für die nächsten Jahre findest.

Zuletzt: zu den Bildern, die ich nicht hochladen darf: ich bin regelmäßig Besucherin in zoologischen Gärten und habe hier oft das Glück zur rechten Zeit am rechten Ort zu sein - nur: da auf Commons eine mögliche kommerzielle Nutzung nicht ausgeschlossen werden kann, darf ich nicht hochladen. Und bei dem einen oder anderen Bild (enzyklopädisch verwendbar und gleichzeitig Stimmungsaufheller *schmunzel*) ist das schon schade. --4028mdk09 (talk) 16:57, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Ist da denn (ausser den Tieren) noch Zoogebäude auf den Fotos mit drauf? Denn sonst sollte das ja kein Problem sein, oder? Ich hab mal zwei Bilder hochgeladen (rechts; ist schon länger her das ich die Fotografiert habe) die gut zeigen was man mit den manuellen Einstellungen machen kann und das macht Bilder oft sehr attraktiv wenn der Hintergrund nicht gestochen scharf ist. Aber du kannst mal schauen, ob das mit der HS10 auch geht. Oft funktioniert der Portrait Modus nach dem Prinzip möglichst unscharfer Hintergrund also grosse Blende, kürzere Belichtungszeit. Denn es stimmt schon was du sagst: Wenn man mit der DSLR rausgeht kommt man sich a.) wie ein Tourist vor und b.) man muss schon richtig wollen denn das Ding ist unhandlich und mit der Zeit wirds schwer. Die Eichhörnchenmama war wirklich, wirklich hungrig *smile*. Die hat diese Eichel so gierig gefressen und es war ihr völlig egal das ich da im Gebüsch rumgekrochen bin ;-) LG, Amada44 (talk) 18:04, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Zum Zoo: dass da auch Gebäude oder charakteristische Anlagenteile drauf sind, lässt sich oft nicht vermeiden. Außerdem - gerade die Säugetiere sind unverwechselbar. Da können dir auch langjährige Besucher sagen, wen du da fotografiert hast. Von den Tierpflegern ganz zu schweigen.

Zu den Möglichkeiten der HS10: die hat auch Modi, bei denen ich fast alles selbst einstellen kann, auch Modi für Zeit- bzw. Blendeneinstellung. Da ich aus dem Kompaktbereich komme und technisch überhaupt keine Ahnung habe (ich weiß gerade mal, was Brennweite überhaupt ist), werde ich mich hier stückchenweise experimentierend vorarbeiten und bin jetzt schon mal beruhigt, dass es einen unendlich großen virtuellen Papierkorb gibt. ;-) Für die Entscheidung, ob ich die Kamera überhaupt behalten will / kann, habe ich die bisherigen Bilder meistens mit den Automatikfunktionen gemacht und bin zur Zeit mit Auswahl Bildausschnitt und der zweihändigen Bedienung voll ausgelastet. *schmunzel* Zur Eichhörnchenmamma: gegen bis zu 6 hungrige Jungtiere im Kobel warst du wahrscheinlich das kleinere Übel *fg* - die Arme musste schlicht sehen, wo sie bleibt. humhh, I don't really know whats wrong with your inkscape because I am using inkscape too... Did you load the svg file I created? Rendering problems are often related to fonts. It is also recommended to save files as normal svg files (not inkscape svg files). There is a testfile File:Test.svg where you can upload your svg test files to see if it works (I used it too to check your file). Amada44 (talk) 07:11, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. Yes, I use that too. After a while I get quite a collection of items and it becomes more and more difficult to find the right ones ;-). I was often thinking how to do automatically for the most obvious ones like duplicate, bad quality tag etc. Often one ends up writing things twice, which is kind of unproductive. I'm doing some circle cleanup and noticed that File:Disc Plain white.svg is identical to File:White dot.svg (rendered different size of course). One needs to be deleted, and I would have chosen File:White dot.svg since yours is consistent with other filenames. It is, however, used far more than yours. No, I don't really disagree. I put it through delinker but it couldn't replace it here. so I checked the page and the image there is used with the white border... So I removed the tag but feel free to delete as dup if you want. I thought of removing all cats and just adding Category:User page images. About the upscaled images: I delete them as duplicates. Hallo ihr beide - wieso reden wir eigentlich Englisch? ;) Das Hochskalieren habe ich gemacht, da ich die Farbwertekurve leicht angepasst habe. Ohne Hochskalieren geht dabei ein wenig Information verloren (bedingt durch die Restriktion auf 255 Farbwerte). "Überhaupt erst "angefasst" hatte ich das Bild, weil das gif nicht richtig von Mediawiki gerendert wurde. Mittlerweile geht es irgendwie doch wieder. Patroll Backlog

In the Village pump you wrote about the Patroll backlog. Looking at New pages I see only a few lines in yellow. When opening such a line I see the link "[Mark as patrolled]" in the right bottom corner. On the page Recent changes I see many lines with the red exclamation mark, but when opening one I don't see such a "Mark as patrolled" note. The number of recent changes is also limited. Hi Jim. Those IP edits where related to this user problem. Kalon macau keept reverting users who removed watermark and then he/she went a little crazy. I reverted all the edtis of that IP (Kalon macau was blocked) per mass rollback and I didn't look after the DR properly. Thanks for doing that! Amada44  ^{talk to me} 07:05, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Inkscape / svg-Dateien

Hallöchen - ich möchte gerne auf dein freundliches Angebot von neulich zurückkommen. Ich habe nun eine abgeleitete Dateiversion hochgeladen: File:Alemannic-Dialects-Map-German.svg Ich weiß nicht, wie das Image bei dir aussieht, aber bei mir sind statt der Staatennamen und der Namen der Staatsteile nur dunkelgraue Balken dargestellt. Klicke ich das Bild an, dann erscheinen die Namen, aber auch nur seit dem ich die Schriftart von Garamond zu TNR gewechselt habe. Kennst du zufällig eine Erklärung? Sollte ich nur serifenfreie Schriftarten verwenden? Hat die Datei einfach zu viele Textobjekte? Ist es normal, dass die png-Versionen so "verzerrt" dargestellt werden (aber auch die SVG-Datei teilweise)? Und: kann man unnötige Dateiversionen löschen? Vielleicht ein bisschen viel auf einmal - trotzdem danke für Rückmeldung. --Testtube (talk) 22:29, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Die grauen Balken sind jetzt weg. Oft muss man im Browser ein Reload machen damit man die Änderungen sieht. Oder man macht ein Purge Page und dann ein Reload im Browser.

Die Karte sieht ja richtig gut aus!! Das mit den Schriften ist so ein Ding. Hier gibt es eine Liste von Schriftarten welche unterstützt werden. In Inkscape sieht die Grafik gut aus. Darum schau mal ob du Schriften verwendet hast welche nicht unterstützt werden!

Die unnötigen Dateiversionen kann nur ein Administrator löschen und es wird eher selten gemacht. Wenn es dich stört kann ich sie dir löschen. Da die Versionen aber physikalisch gesehen immer noch auf den Festplatten liegen, spart man kein Speicherplatz mit dem löschen (es geht also nur um die Optik ). LG,

Danke für deine äußerst sachdienlichen Hinweise ;) Freut mich, dass die Karte gefällt. Ich bin auch ganz zufrieden. Alles, was mich jetzt noch stört, ist nicht dramatisch (z.B. habe ich es nicht hinbekommen, mit zwei Farben gestreifte Flächen zu erzeugen). Habe die Schriftarten nun durch SVG-taugliche Fonts ersetzt. Hätte nie gedacht, dass Arial nicht eine Art Standard ist. Die DejaVu-Fonts sind aber auch sehr brauchbar, finde ich. Wenn durch das Löschen kein Platz frei wird, dann ist das Löschen wohl unnötig. Eine ziemliche Dummheit war meine Wahl des Dateinamens, da ich dort das Datum eingefügt habe. Wenn ich in einem Jahr eine andere Version dieser Datei mit veränderten Dateinamen (weil anderes Datum) hochladen möchte, dann geht das wohl nicht, oder? Daher: wenn es möglich ist, könntest du bitte verschieben nach "File:Alemannic-Dialects-Map-1860-German.svg"? --Testtube (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Hallo Amada, die alemannische Karte hat sich mittlerweile zum Guten weiterentwickelt. Bei der dt.-spr. svg-Version (File:Alemannic-Dialects-Map-German.svg) haben sich aber durch falsche Uploads u.ä. ein paar ganz und gar unnötige Dateiversionen eingeschlichen. Könntest du diese bitte entfernen? Es würde sich um folgende Versionen handeln:

• 17:21, 12. August 2010
• 17:18, 12. August 2010
• 23:00, 2. August 2010

Guten Tag! Habe nicht vor und werde auch kein Konto hier anlegen. Habe keine Lust War Edits und unproduktive Diskussionen zu führen wie das üblich bei allen Wikipedias ist. Bis jetzt war ich der Meinung das hier (Commons) nur produktive und sinnvolle Arbeit von Bedeutung ist.
