Änderung?

Ja, auf der talk seite hat jemand geschrieben, dass man dort das Nummernschild auf der Umweltplakette noch lesen kann. Ich hab dann auch grad die alte Version gelöscht. Ich hoffe, dass das in deinem Sinne war. LG, Amada44  ^{talk to me} 19:57, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

naja, daraus lernt man ja ;) ausserdem finde ich es nicht so eine krasse Fehlentscheidung. Meiner Meinung nach sollte so ein crop nur gemacht werden, wenn jemand das genau so im Artikel benötigt. Das Original ist ja da. Sozusagen prophylaktisch alle möglichen crops zu machen halte ich nicht für sinnvoll. Und ein 'low quality' hat sich das Bild seeeeeehr verdient. Ich hab mal ein Schnitz von einer Orange oder so ähnlich zum löschen vorgeschlagen denn es hätte auch eine Mandarine oder sonst was sein können. Die Qualität war so schlecht, dass man einfach einen orangenen Schnitz gesehen hat. Nur der Name war irgend was spezielles. Irgend eine spezielle Orange oder Mandarine oder Kreuzung oder was auch immer (das Bild hatte vielleicht 200x300 Pixel mit einem älteren Handy aufgenommen). Nun, es kamen Leute daher die 'Keep' gevoted haben: 'denn wir haben ja sonst keine anderen Bilder dieser Frucht'. hummmmmmm,… habe ich mich da gefragt,… was ist denn das für eine Logik? Da könnte ich ja ein schwarzes Bild hochladen und sagen es sei Elvis auf dem Mond das kann dann nie gelöscht werden denn dieses Foto ist absolut einzigartig *smile*

Danke fürs Gerade-rücken-meines Bildes, das ich hier von Commons habe. Nachdem ich erst nachdem ich das Originalbild gesehen hatte, überhaupt mal erahnen konnte, was da überhaupt abgebildet wurde - ... ! Aber seis drum: "Die Community" hat entschieden. Commons:Deletion requests/File:Anti68.jpg

Hallo, Du schreibst als Entscheidung:

"If you have a problem with File:Flower-Power Bus.jpg put a DR to that, not here."

Diese Entscheidung ignoriert doch völlig den Löschantrag, und unterstellt zudem eine falsche Begründung!

Im Löschantrag wurden an keiner Stelle "Proleme" mit dem File:Flower-Power Bus.jpg angeführt. Eine Löschung dieser Datei File:Flower-Power Bus.jpg wurde nicht verlangt und auch nicht begründet.

Verlangt, und ausführlich begründet wurde die Löschung der Datei File:Anti68.jpg, für welche File:Flower-Power Bus.jpg in agitatorische Weise verwendet, und zum Schaden der Eigentümer des abgebildeten Fahrzeugs mißbraucht wurde.

Daher möchte ich, daß die Datei File:Anti68.jpg doch gelöscht wird. Die Datei File:Flower-Power Bus.jpg dagegen soll nicht gelöscht werden, Gruß --Rosenkohl (talk) 11:04, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Guten Morgen! wow, das ging ja schnell ;) und ich wollte mich eigentlich noch dran machen und eine Seite erstellen mit den besten Wanzen aus allen Kategorien zwecks Identifikation ;) danke Dir! Das Bild habe ich übrigens mit Focus-stacking gemacht. Es besteht aus ca. 10 Bildern mit verschiedenen Schärfeebenen und eine Software rechnet dann die scharfen Stellen in ein Bild zusammen. Macht grad echt Spass mit der Technik Fotos zu machen weil man Bilder machen kann, welche überall gestochen scharf sind! LG, Amada44  ^{talk to me} 09:33, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Verschieben vs. Move & Replace

Hallo, war hier verschieben richtig oder wäre move and replace besser gewesen? Falls verschieben richtig war, muss ich noch Antrag auf Schnelllöschung des alten Dateinamens stellen? Gruß, --4028mdk09 (talk) 13:26, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Also für alle Dateien welche irgendwo verlinkt sind ist move & replace das bessere. Mit what links here und Global usage kannst du das auch für redirects rausfinden. Da der alte name noch hier verlinkt ist, müsste man das entweder manuell entlinken oder durch den delinker laufen lassen. Vorher kann man den redirect auch nicht löschen.

Das Problem ist, dass es da verschiedene Meinungen gibt. Manche sagen, auf gar keinen Fall die redirects löschen (da ja auch externe den Link als Quelle angeben) und andere löschen bereitwillig die redirects wenn sie nicht mehr in den wp projekten verlinkt sind. Ich bin eher dafür die redirects zu löschen wenn sie in wp.projekten entlinkt sind...

Ich weiss das es mal geplant war, dass wenn eine Datei nicht verlinkt war, das auch User mit Move-rechten eine Datei verschieben können ohne einen redirect zu erstellen (sonst dürfen das nur admins...). Wie der genaue Stand da jetzt ist weiss ich nicht.

Prinzipiell also: Move&Replace für alles was irgendwo verlinkt ist und wenn der redirect nirgends mehr verlinkt ist, kannst du mich ja persönlich um die Entfernung dessen bitten ;) Amada44  ^{talk to me} 20:42, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Danke für die ausführliche Antwort. Ich habe heute eine handvoll Dateien, die ich unter falschem Namen hochgeladen hatte, verschoben. Es wurde in jedem Fall ein Redirect erzeugt, unabhängig davon ob die Ursprungsdatei auf Commons eingebunden war oder auch nicht. Folgende Redirects sind imho entlinkt: [1], [2], [3]. Darf ich auf Dein Angebot zurück kommen und Dich bitte, diese zu löschen? Künftig werde ich dann wohl besser "move und replace" nehmen. Hi Regge! Thanks for asking me here. The duplicate tag should only be used for exact duplicates! That is the reason why I have reverted your edit. As the cropped black and white images is slightly larger, I would also say that we should keep it. Thank you for noticing that it is not H.F.Tollens but Staring. What you can do is rename the file. For that you just add {{rename|Staring croped.jpg|wrong name}} to the image and it will be renamed. You are also free to edit/correct the description on the page and adding the correct categories. I see you deleted File:Radio Gureshk -e.jpg because it was an "Exact or scaled-down duplicate" of File:Afghanistan (3238337098).jpg.

I have participated in several discussions recently over what administrators should do when one of two files has been proposed for deletion, because it is a duplicate.

Other administrators have said they are careful, to make sure that they do an intelligent merge of the categories and descriptions from the two files.

In these discusssions people discussed the value of keeping the image that was uploaded first, or the image with the most eventful revision history.

Personally, I think that if the later image was uploaded by a bot, it should always be the one deleted, even if it is of higher resolution, because volunteers shouldn't have the discouragement of having a bot's efforts be more highly valued than a human beings.

You deleted the image with the superior name, and kept the one with the totally unhelpful name. Can I ask why you did this? Isn't the use of totally non-descriptive names counter-policy? Geo Swan (talk) 17:03, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes I can tell you why. This (File:Afghanistan (3238337098).jpg) image has been uploaded on the 13 November 2009. Yours 23 September 2010. I know that the flickr uploadbots do not check for dupes (which they should!!) so its difficult to know if the image has been uploaded already. But since the other image has been on commons for nearly a year and yours just a few days, I have decided to delete your image (as less external source will link to your image, being only a couple of days on commons). I am sorry, that it was your image which was deleted (I read your comment on Village pump...) But you could also see it like this: You uploaded an image which already existed and it took me 4 minutes to check all the parameter and get it deleted.... so what about my time? *smile* no, just kidding. We need dupe-checking with the flickr upload bots, thats the only solution. As for the name, lets do a rename. In fact, I have seen that you have done so many good edits, that I have given you rename rights. Would you be so kind to give that file a sensible name? I may have screwed up a tag, but the images to KEEP are those named "MACLINTOCK V" (You were supposed to keep , not delete it) I misspelled it the first time. Request for rights for sreejithk2000

Hi Amada, my request for file renaming rights is being pending for some time. I have more than 4,800 edits in commons and more than 38,000 edits in English wiki. I am also an admin in Malayalam Wikipedia where I have more than 6,400 edits. I have read and understood the renaming rules in commons and will respect it. Hi Sreejithk. So, once you have read it, are you sure you still need rename?? ;-). Rename should really only be used if really necessary and since we are an international project 'we' want to explicitly allow every language. (One of the reasons for this is, that we would have files renamed all the time. One person wants them like this, a month later somebody renames them to a different language and so on)

The problem with your request is, that I now have to trust you, that you won't secretly carry out your rename agenda converting everything to english…. can I trust you there? Amada44  ^{talk to me} 12:10, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't have an agenda here. I just want to correct file names in Indian languages. I can read and write Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil. I can help people who puts renaming requests with file names in these languages and give suggestions if needed. Unidentified plants from Gardenology.org

Hi Amada44. I'm not crazy about this new category you've created. I wish you'd discussed it first. It's not even a location like the others in the category. The files in the "Unidentified plants by location" category tend to get ignored, unfortunately. That has been the case with the plants in the Huntington Library category there with my files. Meanwhile the ones in the simple "Unidentified plants" folder at least seen to get noticed by some people. If the files can stay there a little while they might actually attract people who like to label plants! I'd really love it if you could reverse your changes for now please. Naming convention

Hi Amada44, wir waren schon in Kontakt (vgl. User talk:Lord Koxinga).
Ich habe nun ein Problem. Ein user sieht Probleme mit meinem File naming, das ich schon seit einiger Zeit anwende, und das auch eine Reihenfolge in meine Files bringt (s. User talk:Lord Koxinga, ganz unten). Ich denke mir, die Sache macht, so wie ich sie brauche, Sinn (s. z.B. Category:Chenggong). Was ist Deine Meinung dazu?

Hi Lord Koxinga.

Hier gibt es eine Guideline für die Dateibenennung (auch auf englisch). Ich denke, dass deine Dateinamen okay sind obwohl die zusätzlichen Nummern vermutlich nur zu deiner Übersichtlichkeit beitragen und weniger zu der des Projektes ;-) . Der User welcher sich bei die beklagt hat, hat hier auf commons sehr wenige edits (nur 40), ist aber in der englischen wikipedia ein admin. Vermutlich hat ihn ein Bild link irgendwo auf der englischen wikipedia gestört und das wollte der user dir mitteilen. Wichtig ist, dass die Dateinamen einen aussagekräftigen Teil enthalten. Da das bei deinen Dateinamen gegeben ist, musst du dir keine Sorgen machen. Ein eher kosmetisches Detail: könntest du die .JPG Endung auch klein schreiben (.jpg)? Egg plant

Hi Amada44. I think the plant is a garden plant, in spite of growing wild in northern Spain. I said it is not an egg plant because you can see the fruit on the back. At the beginning it is green and then it becomes red, but does not increase in size, it stays as small as you can see in the background of the photo. The actual size of this fruits is like a peanut, not bigger. Maybe there is a garden type of egg plant that is grown for the flowers?

I have updated another photo of the fruit while still green. It really doesn't get bigger than that. Maybe it helps.

It would be actually cool, if you could do a nice shot of your parrot and upload it here to commons ;). Do you mind to add a speedy tag to your parrot image? An other admin will have a look at it then. Just for your information, Uploader deletion requests are a privilege and not a right. If an image is used in a project, then normally admins will not delete the image. So, to be save delink the image from your userpage before you add the speedy. I was using the redirect still (only found out about the move last night) and will add the speedy tag. I would do another picture (and I really shouldn't say "my parrot" cause it isn't anymore) but we sold the parrot (she was lonely, she has bird friends now) about 2 months ago. I have OCD

As i explained before, I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which means i need everything in my mind to be resolved, otherwise my mind will lose it. Its hard for me to explain to a person who doesnt have OCD. Every now and then I'll have obsessive thoughts, and unfortunately this is one of them.

Im sorry if im annoying you, but Im having trouble going to sleep and functioning in daily life if my obsesive thoughts are not resolved. You cant understand how painful this is to me.

Unidentified plants

Hi Amada - many of the files you've moved to the unidentified plants in Sydney are from (and are labeled) as being from Melbourne. Also, I'm a bit worried nobody will ever look in these folders to notice that there are so many files needing to be recategorized. Hi Raffi. I move Melbourne out. Well, as I said, that category is for images, which are not identified so people can look through them and identify them. Now, your images are mostly identified (by label) and just not categorized. The problem is not as much that nobody sees them, the problem is more that nobody wants to do the work ;) The only way is to ask for help every now and again (also on your home wiki!). Hi Amada, would you be able to add a tag to all the photos in the category Category:Unidentified plants at Huntington Gardens? It would be nice if in addition to having that category, they also have the category "Plants at the Huntington Gardens". That way once the genus/species category is identified, and the Unidentified category is removed, we'll still know they're from the Huntington. Koriander ist eine Frucht ...

Frucht oder Samen?

Ich kann mir nicht erklären, warum in der deutschen WP und englischen WP beim Koriander im Text häufig von Samen, in den Bildunterschriften aber von Früchten die Rede ist. Soweit ich weiß, enthält der Koriander noch das Pericarp (Fruchtwand) und ist damit eine Frucht. Mikroskopischer Farbatlas Pflanzlicher Drogen; ISBN 978-3-8274-1951-4 Haben Sie eine Erklärung? Meiner Meinung nach muss da sauber gearbeitet werden (es wird einfach nicht unterschieden), auch wenn sich da etwas "eingebürgert" haben sollte. Das kann ja in einem Satz in der Einleitung der Artikel geklärt werden. Eventuell sollte das hier aber lieber in die Artikeldiskussionen.

Das Foto finde ich übrigens toll. Aus biologischer Sicht wäre u.U. noch ein sauber halbierter Koriander in der "Innenansicht" interessant gewesen.

Question on panoramic view artwork

Hi Amada44, although I appreciate your work on the image File:John Vanderlyn - Panoramic View of the Palace and Gardens of Versailles - Google Art Project.jpg, I'm trying to figure out whether it's eligible to be uploaded under PD-Art. Was the original painting a flat one that Google created a distorted image of, or was the original work itself painted on a curved surface? Do you know? Thanks. Hi Dcoetzee! That was basically the reason why I de-skewed it. As far as I can tell, it is painted on a circular wall. Nevertheless it should be PD-Art, because its not a sculpture on which the image is painted but just a curved wall. So there is still nothing creative in taking a picture of it. But to be sure we could put a DR on it and ask for opinions. The original image is certainly not PD-Art. Just as theses images aren't:

I've looked at some of the plants you've added to the right category, and it's very strange, the photos are usually not appearing in the category at all. Have you experienced this at all? WP und Commons haben mit dem Vorlieb zu nehmen, was ich zur Verfügung stelle, sonst nichts. Ich bin die Urheberin und damit Eigentümerin der Bilder.
