Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Please notice that, in Finland, the correct term is "Minister for Foreign Affairs" (ulkoasiainministeri/utrikesminister) or "Foreign minister" (ulkoministeri). Hej. Template:PD-Sweden-photo gäller bara för fotografier. För teckningar och karikatyrer måste man använda någon annan mall. Jag bytte till Template:PD-Old-70 för File:E.B. Rinman.jpg som gäller för svenska bilder om konstnären har varit död i mer än 70 år. Det är inte helt rätt eftersom Albert Engström som dog 1940, så hans verk blir PD först 1 januari 2011. /Ö 19:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello! Are you sure that this picture is from "mid 1960s" as you have written? I have reasons to believe that it is more recent, because to my eye, Kekkonen looks like over 70 years old in this picture. He is also wearing the large eyeglasses that were customary in the 70s. Is there really not more information about the picture on Vasabladet? If the picture is taken after 1966, it is not free and has to be deleted. --Pxos (talk) 13:10, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Årvasbåo, your upload of the image Romer i Karleby.jpg has been questioned by the author Gunni Nordström. She has contacted Wikimedia Information Team/info-sv, ticket #2013011310007621 with the following remark (my summary, translated from swedish): The image was taken in the 1960's, but was not published for the first time until a few years ago. The image is protected by copyright and may not be published without payment. I will report this violation. Clearly, this is a copyright violation and thus cannot be kept on any Wikimedia project. - I have returned the source book, which I had loaned, so I can't check it right now. The links you provide, however, indicate that it is a clear case. Probably his name was given as simply Hugo Pipping, and he may have been described as just professor in the caption.
