Template incorrectly changing "vandalism" to "damaged"[edit]

If the object history in Wikidata says that a painting was vandalized, this template changes that to "damaged" which is very different. For example, the Mona Lisa has been vandalized half a dozen times, but most of the incidents resulted in no damage to the painting. Nosferattus (talk) 03:15, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for bringing this up. I agree, it's not the same. This needs fixing in Module:Wikidata art. --Marsupium (talk) 16:25, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the template makes use of Wikidata property nighttime view (P3451). An additional kind of image that could be shown is winter view (P5252) (to be used, for instance, for outdoor monuments). Horcrux (talk) 10:08, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, a bit delayed … I've changed the responsible Module:Wikidata art/sandbox accordingly. So this should work with next update of live code containing it. Best, --Marsupium (talk) 16:35, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Sometimes, like in File:Johannes Vermeer - Girl with a Pearl Earring - WGA24666.jpg, the reference can get long and messy. Maybe some things should be tweaked once the number of references are reaching a certain threshold. I am thinking of: - Making subsections, like "catalogue", "online databases" or others - Hide lower quality resources when many better ones are available Zolo (talk) 11:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a good idea, at least in principle. Module:Wikidata art's function p.get_references() would be the place to adjust the appearance of references. But I guess here the devil is in the details. Do you have thoughts how exactly the result should change under which exact conditions? Cdlt, --Marsupium (talk) 14:45, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Something like: * Count the number of values going into the reference fields. if there are at least 4 in total, and more than one using catalog code (P528), create a "Catalogue" header and put catalogue references below it. If there at least 6, check those that refer to online database and filter out those that link to lower quality ones, based on a fixed list. --Zolo (talk) 08:30, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
