While I like the simplicity of the upload wizard, you stripped out the ability to add location and categories to the photos. To say the experience to trying to do this AFTER uploading the file has been frustrating would be an understatement (hours later...). Ironically on the page showing the photo, the photo is flagged as not have been categorized, so you ask for help in doing so. Then you make the process very difficult in trying to figure out both how to do this and in selecting a category. With the original form you had a link built into the help that guides you through the process of adding categories. PUT THIS LINK DIRECTLY ON THE PAGE WHERE YOU ASK FOR HELP TO CATEGORIZE!! THEN ALLOW THESE CATEGORIES TO BE ADDED TO THE PHOTO!! Help us help you. In the meantime I give up trying to categorize the photos, you make it too difficult now. Il semble que vos images ont bien été déposées ici (Special:Contributions/Roccella). Mais les descriptions sont incomplètes ou absentes. Notez aussi que si vos images ont été publiées sur un autre site web auparavant sans mention d'une licence libre, vous devez envoyer une permission par email (voir COM:OTRS pour les détails). Uploading multiple files with the same name

When uploading multiple files, the form doesn't warn you if you name multiple files the same, and subsequently the files are uploaded to the same file name or the upload fails. It should really do that... Mike Peel (talk) 17:43, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Du brauchst nur bei dem deutschen Foto die Vorlage:commonsfähig einsetzen, dann wird es überprüft und durch Bot erledigt. Bei deinem gewünschten Foto schuae ich es mir an und setze den Baustein. --gruß K@rl (talk) 19:04, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Zusätzliche Infos

Es wäre gut wenn man bei den Koordinaten zwischen Locator und Object Locator unterscheiden könnte.

Bei Angabe der Lizenz sollte auch ein Feld für Permissions möglich sein. Somit kann man eigene zusätzliche Vorlagen ergänzen.

Bei der Lizenz cc wäre günstig, wenn man aus der IP-Adresse die Herkunft ausliest und danach ein -de oder at etc. anhängt. Wenn keine Volrage vorhanden ist, kann man es auch weglassen.

Wizard gets blocked.

I uploaded 5 files, 4 uploads successfull, one failed, so I removed the failed file, and, as the menu for upload another file was still there, I reuploaded the failed file a second time, with the other 4 files waiting. Kategorien nicht vorhanden

Kategorien werden vorerst nach unten kopiert. Bei der Korrektur bei folgenden Fotos löscht man die kopierte Kategorie. Neue Kategorien lassen sich aber nicht mehr korrekt eintragen. Es kommt auch Kategorie nicht vorhanden obwohl korrekt.

Der Wizard sagt mir nach dem Druck auf "Weiter" folgendes: "Beim Ausfüllen der Formulare sind 6 Fehler aufgetreten. Bitte die Fehler berichtigen und erneut speichern." Die Fehler werden aber nicht benannt/gekennzeichnet. So ist das nicht hilfreich. Emha (talk) 09:05, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Ich habe viele Fotos auf einmal hochgeladen, dann nach entsprechender Fehlermeldung noch Pflichtfelder ergänzt und die Angaben zur Höhe verändert. Nun bekomme ich immer noch die Meldung "Beim Ausfüllen der Formulare sind 4 Fehler aufgetreten. Bitte die Fehler berichtigen und erneut speichern.", aber ich habe keine Chance, die Fehler zu finden. Keine Lizenz für alte Werke, die keine Gemälde sind

Die Lizenz "Faithful reproduction of a painting that is in the public domain" passt nicht für Bilder, die keine Gemälde ("Paintings") darstellen. Für Holzschnitte, Buchseiten, Münzen, Medaillen usw. vermisse ich eine Lizenz-Auswahlmöglichkeit für "PD-Art" oder "PD-old" in Verbindung mit "PD-1923". --Neitram (talk) 14:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

If one adds another file just at the moment before finished appears, the added file is uploaded, but then there is no possibility to continue towards release rights. One has to start over all uploads. Havang(nl) (talk) 08:31, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

bug in importation of altitude

When you import a fil geotagged, the altitude is shown as 65/1 instead of 65 and more weird 131/2 for 65.5

The altitude field also gives error messages and one has to empty all altitude fields in order to go on. All my photo's are with geolocation, so I have to empty for all my wizard upoloads all the altitude fields. Please remove that field. --Havang(nl) (talk) 08:36, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

I can not upload a file with the name 'Hermes_13_265.png'. the error message is that such a file already existed and was deleted. That's probably true, but the reason to delete the file was stupid, the file is needed and is copyright-free! Starshollow (talk) 14:14, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

It gives up

On the file description page, the form gives up after about 2 failed attempts to submit (when there are errors in the descriptions.)

Another unrelated problem is that experienced editors should be allowed to circumvent the enter details part of the form, and just upload the image and edit the description page manually... Deryck Chan (talk) 21:01, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

I just waited minutes to upload two images, the wizard says "2 of 2 files uploaded", and there is no "next" button, nothing. I try to click on "Release rights", but it is just text, not a button. I'm stuck and my time is wasted.

Third step -- duplicate file names

At the third step, the wizard informed me that two files already existed with the same name, but told me nothing about what to do.

In this case, they were files that I had uploaded yesterday, but included today by mistake. I thought that I should simply change the titles to Junk 1 and Junk 2 and delete them after the upload was completed.

An sich ist der Assistent sehr gut ausgereift, aber es wäre praktisch wenn man die Kategorie von vornherein irgendwie aussuchen könnte. Ist von Vorteil, wenn man mehrere Bilder des gleichen Typs hochlädt.

Can't complete uploading photos

I get Unknown warning: "exists-normalized". My guess is that this is because I have chosen a name that is already in use. It would be nice if there were a way to back up and change the name or if the system made an arbitrary modification of the name so that there is not a need to upload the file once more. Hi, I'm working in Galician Wikipedia, gl.wikipedia.org, we want to promote the use of the UploadWizard in our comunty and I think that if the tool could add the "Galicia" category by default, with an explanation message, it could be more simple to use for new users. I think that all photos uploaded in galician language are from or about Galicia and that change could help new users. UploadWizard not working

The wizard stopped working for me today, for uploading single or a batch of files. I have tested it on 3 computers running Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit. I have tried uploading from Firefox 14.0.1, as well as IE9. The file just hangs in the upload page, with no progress and an idle network. Also tried uploading on 3 separate internet connections 2 separate ISPs. (and also tried emptying cache, running the browsers in safe mode (no addons), restarting the PC, etc) Rehman 09:47, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Okay, this is what I discovered. I basically have 3 connections from 2 ISPs. One ISP provides me with a 512K basic/slow Wimax connection. While the other ISP offers me 2 broadband connections using HSPA. Uploads work only on the Wimax connection, no matter what hardware/software I use. How is that possible? Is the ISP blocking certain addresses which Commons use? Any tests I could perform? Rehman 10:34, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
