English Mauritius - Republic of Mauritius

The Republic of Mauritius is an island nation off the coast of Africa in the southwest Indian Ocean, about 900 kilometers (560 mi) east of ► Madagascar and about 3,943 kilometers (2,450 mi) southwest of ► India. In addition to the island of Mauritius, the republic includes the islands of St. Brandon, Rodrigues and the Agalega Islands. Mauritius is part of the Mascarene Islands, with the French island of ► Réunion 200 kilometers (125 mi) to the southwest.

La République de Maurice est un État de l'océan Indien dans l'archipel des Mascareignes. Il se situe au sud-est de l'Afrique à environ 900 kilomètres à l'est de Madagascar, 250 km de la Réunion et au sud des Seychelles. L'île Maurice représente 91 % de la surface de l'État, avec 1865 km2 sur 2040 km2. Le reste est formé par de plus petites îles dont Rodrigues.
