Uploading from Flickr

Do try and grab the largest version possible on the Flickr site. Better yet, why not use the Toolserver bot to do the upload? http://toolserver.org/~bryan/flickr/upload Tabercil (talk) 00:55, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Better, but you missed one crucial step: in the last screen of the bot, if you look at the Permissions box, you'll see it says there "You must then click this link to complete the upload." You missed clicking on that link which would make the bot actually upload the file. I've finished the various uploads, but you might want to remember that for the future. As the source and author of the pictures is mentioned ("Lierse sk" and "Lierse vzw"), i don't understand what the problem is exactly. Bylbyl (talk) 07:55, 3 July 2010 (UTC) :The pictures are taken by the football club Lierse SK (in the form of "a member of their webteam", or "Lierse SK's photographer"), the rights belong to the football club. Lierse vzw is the legal entity of the same football club, and they are the legal owner and author of the pictures (vzw is some sort of legal entity by Belgian law and is short for "Vereniging Zonder Winstbejag" in dutch, which can be translated in english as something like "Unity Without Aim for profit"). All the pictures are available on the official website of the football club: website Lierse.

eg: File:Lierse lisp - tribune II + I.png is taken from original File:Lierse lisp - tribune II + I.png

So, according to me, i did put in the name of the author. I hope this solves the unclarity. Bylbyl.

Praticamente todas são violações de copyright e em algumas tu tiveste a cara de pau de "revisar" o upload do Flickr (que so pode ser feito por usuários cuja comunidade deu permissão para isso) para evitar que tuas imagens fossem apagadas. Kww 2 see the date of the photo in Commons, the upload was made in 2007 and probably their owner changed his license, the correct is ask the photographer if he changes the license of the photo temporarily. Truu (talk) 16:24, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

No one can prove that this image is actually from flickr, but I put the copyvio because the user did the upload of image claiming it was removed from flickr. If you want, you can remove the copyvio. Truu (talk) 19:37, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello Truu

Thanks for your message. I'm really glad to have one since it seems that my images are constantly erased and that some people don't even read what I wrote about it. I already had that discussion with MGA73 who had erased my first images from J. Chueca taken from Flickr: [4]. As I was saying somewhere on the new pictures (I wish people will read it some day and I'm terribly sad I will have the same problem some time soon since there seems to be a lack of coordination somewhere...) I have the authorization from the author (I wrote him before using his pictures...) and I wrote a part of his mail on my userpage. I have also sent the letter/authorization to the permissions committee but I still haven't received any answers up to this moment. I hope you understand how obnoxious it is to write the same message many times (and the time lost...). I'm afraid that if this goes on this way, I won't contribute anymore here, it's so bothersome to see this happen so often... Well, at least you were kind enough to tell me what happens not like the contributor I just wrote before you. Anyway, I wish you all the best. Thanks for your understanding! Hi! I've noticed just now that you've deleted some photos I uploaded time ago because bots have identified them as unauthorised. Many of them are actually officially authorised. Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
