About the file you deleted

Hi ,

You've deleted the file [[1]] because of a copyright violation.
These set of Windows 8.1 photographs are important for the wikibook. Anyway , I do not see much reason as to why should these photos be deleted. Is it because I used the wrong license?
Or , is it that Microsoft screenshots cannot be uploaded?

Sorry, it's one of the generic criteria of COM:FR chose by the person who made the renaming request, I should have changed this. The IP wanted to add the Polish name of the region?/station? so I accepted the request. Apparently "Wojcieszów Górny" means "Upper Wojcieszów", when "Kauffung" only means "Wojcieszów" in German, and it seems to match the Polish Wikipedia article. Andrey Dmitriev

[2] Photos taken from the site is not Flickr, but from the forum http://forum.globus.tut.by/. The size of uploaded photos is the same size as the photos on the forum, and not on Flickr. Hello, how i was supposed to know that zzuka is Andrey Dmitriev ? If he agrees to license his photos with a CC-BY-SA license, why the license on his Flickr account is "All rights reserved" ? I thought those pictures are beautifully shot, but the page itself does not have any "Creative Common" tag 1, so I was not sure if it was appropriate. Some of the other pages within that site does have one (such as this one 2). Does it apply to the website as a whole or only individual pages? Let me know, because I'm still new to this. Ces images proviennent d'un livre écrit par Mr Pageau, et publiées à compte d'auteur. Ce livre n'a pas de numéro ISBN. Le photographe est mort depuis longtemps… Je suis en contact avec l'auteur, Mr Pageau, c.s.v., qui est très âgé, et souhaite seulement que l'on redécouvre l'artiste qui était son ami. Il m'a donné la permission verbale d'utiliser tout le matériel de son livre. Je dois le rencontrer vendredi et je vais lui expliquer la situation. Je ne crois pas qu'il utilise l'internet… Serait-il pour vous satisfaisant que je lui demande de signer une letttre m'autorisant à utiliser les images de son livre? TOUTES les images? Car il y en a d'autres que je voudrai éventuellement ajouter. Je pourrai alors la numériser et faire parvenir. Cela conviendrait-il?

Cette toile a été volée et a disparu. J'ai obtenu en 2012 une rare image sur un site web où la police de Joliette annonçait sa disparition et demandait aux citoyens de l'aider à la retrouver. Cette image a disparu, et il sera bien entendu impossible de photographier de nouveau cette toile… L'image n'appartient vraiment à personne car elle était dans le domaine public. Je ne pourrai bien sûr jamais obtenir de permission pour cette image, mais je crois important de la publier AU CAS où cela pourrait aider à la retrouver!

Bonjour Fdboucher, pour qu'une photo soit dans le domaine public au Canada, il faut que la photo ait été prise avant le 1er janvier 1949 ou que le photographe soit décédé y a plus de 50 ans. Pour ce qui est de la toile de Max Boucher, Max Boucher est décédé en 1975 et donc malheureusement la toile n'est pas dans le domaine public. Mais je peux me tromper, je vous conseille de vous adresser au Commons:Bistro où des gens plus expérimentés que moi pourront vous répondre. Je ne peux pas vous empêcher de détruire les images que j'ai téléchargées, mais je ne serai certes pas le seul à y perdre: l'auteur même des œuvres, Max Boucher, restera dans l'ombre; la communauté des Clercs de Saint-Viateur, dont il faisait partie, sera déçue de manquer une occasion de mieux faire connaître leur terreau créatif fertile, et de rappeler au monde la mémoire d'un artiste émérite de leur communauté. Quant à moi, ce sera bien la dernière fois que j'écrirai quoi que ce soit dans Wikipedia, alors que j'avais plein de projets, le prochain étant de mieux faire connaître au monde un autre très grand créateur issu des C.S.V, le père Wilfrid Corbeil.

Qui va y gagner? PERSONNE! Parce que, imaginez-vous donc, il n'existe pas dans le monde une veuve du photographe de Max Boucher écumant les sites de wikimedia à la recherche de photos affichées impunément sans license de reproduction qui devraient lui rapporter ~~des millions~~ quelques dollars… ni de petits-enfants affamés par l'abus des droits de leur grand-papa…

Moi non plus je n'y gagnerai rien: je me barre, et je vais retirer de wikipedia tous mes textes et images. On ne peut décrire un sculpteur sans montrer ses œuvres! Et de plus, dites donc: j'ai moi aussi des droits sur ce que j'écris!

Hello there, I recently uploaded several pictures from tistory because I saw the little "person" icon at the end of the page. Isn't that an indication for (CC BY 4.0)? Because one of my uploads File:Tiffany in March 2014 (01).jpg has just been tagged for deletion, so I wanna know. I'm still new to this. Thanks. In particular from http://www.trapaninostra.it/wp/2010/06/23/alcamo-maria-ss-dei-miracoli-le-foto-di-preparazione-e-processione/ At the end of that page is written: "Copyleft © 2015 Trapani Nostra - Il contenuto di questo sito può essere liberamente riutilizzato citandone la fonte salvo per quelli a questo sito concessi e coperti da copyright". It means that it is in the public domain (=copyleft) and can be used citing the source. I had also contacted the webmaster of the website (Lorenzo Gigante) to confirm that I can use those pictures because he took by his camera and they have copyleft. Hm, that's a good point. Maybe we could go with 1.2em instead, or use some CSS trickery in form of white-space: nowrap;? As we know, even using 13.8pt doesn't guarantee that it won't be wrapped on some screens, as it depends on the available font selection, rendering performed by the browser, etc. However, it would be the best to modify Template:BUser template a bit (its TemplateBUserImgText CSS class, to be precise), so 45px isn't the only thing that determines how wide is the left "box". — Dsimic (talk | contribs) 12:14, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

I recently uploaded some pictures but a few of them got deleted (although they passed license review), because Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Photos from http://jjoggomi.tistory.com/, but I contacted the owners on their twitter and they are okay with them as long as proper credits are given, so what I should I do to indicate that the pictures are permission-ed? About the Picture you removed.

Hi there, I was wondering to find out the reason why you deleted the image Mehfil Magazine.jpg on 28 Feb 2015. The image is a cover of a Canadian Magazine called "Mehfil Magazine". And I was trying to add that cover image to their Wikipedia page at Mehfil Magazine. They are the original owners of this image and they want their Magazine cover to be displayed on the Wikipedia article. So, they are totally fine with releasing the image in public for free, free for usage or editing. So I don't know how this could be violation of copyright laws. Could you please help me here.

Request for revision deletion

Open proxies

I noticed the revision deletions, protections and IP blocks you did last night at VP and AN. Good work! I've changed the IP blocks to 1-year hard blocks, which is my usual treatment for open/anon proxies. When you get IP hopping vandals, and the IPs are from different countries, you're usually dealing with open proxies. If you wanted to do a simple check on an IP, a quick Google search of the IP is often all you need: https://www.google.com/search?q=110.34.39.58&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8. That search is for User:110.34.39.58. You'll notice all the spam hits, and second to the bottom a hit from a proxy list: http://y2code.com/showthread.php?tid=349654. If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Hi,

This photograph has been or is about to be deleted for the third time. The situation is this: the subject was photographed by a professional photographer approx eighteen months ago. The photographer handed over ALL copyright to the subject ie he agreed to allow the photograph to be used under public domain. Since then, this image has been used on numerous websites with NO difficulty except on wiki commons and Wikipedia. The photographer was contacted last week, the situation was explained ie that the image was to be used on Wikipedia/wiki commons. He had no problem with that. He kindly removed some text on the image so that he did not lay claim inadervertently to any copyright while maintaining public domain on the image. He then sent the new image to the subject who then uploaded it to his Flickr account who in the meantime had altered the licensing terms on his account to creative commons share-alike. This latest image was uploaded to wiki commons a short time ago and lo and behold it is now subject to a deletion request. What can be done to stop this nonsensical merry go round? I can supply the photographer's website address where you can contact him but it seems extraordinary the lengths that the subject, the contributor and in particular the photographer have had to go through for all this. By the way, the photographer does not use Flickr which is why the subject uploaded the image to his Flickr account. Hoping for some light on the subject. There's quite a bit of information available on the image, but unfortunately this information just doesn't slot into the predetermined rigid categories of the Information template in any simple or direct manner. Adding a template with almost all of the fields left blank really doesn't accomplish anything much which is useful, and adding a template with blank fields generating error messages marks an image for ultimate deletion (though there is no reason to delete this image). Excuse me Thibaut120094, can I ask a help to you? Recently unreviewed files are more than 1000 files over 1 week, so I think we need to check them quickly. but I wonder that license reviewing Korean images seems to (currently) mostly be left with user:-revi alone, such as this user:Vmffjtmrkarl case. Although I understand your idea that it is better to ask a Korean-speaker when we treat some of license-review-needed files, but according to contributions of -revi, the Korean admin seems to be somewhat inactive than I thought and think the task is very tiresome business. salut thibaut, je voudrai rapporter un truc qui m'énerve sur common et vu que je sais pas où je viens ici.

Quand j'importe une image avec upload wizard. Tout ce passe bien.

Je clique "ce fichier est de mon propre travail", je met suivant

ensuite il faut choisir un titre, une date, un decrptif

Je clique sur suivant, il me dis le titre est déjà pris.

Je change le titre , mais je na'i plus suivant, je suis obligé de relancer l'importation.

Si mon fichier met 2 secondes à importer ce n'est pas grave; mais quand c'est une vidéo et que ça prend 10 minutes parce qu'il y a conversion de firefogg en même temps, là on hésite à le refaire(enfin me concernant).

Vous m'avez signalé que les photos mise en ligne ce matin n'étaient pas assez renseignées au sujet de la licence. Ne comprenant pas grand chose à ces licences, je voudrais quelques précisions. Sur le site où je les ai trouvé, ici, il est mentionné la phrase : « Les photos (19 492 photos à ce jour) sont sous licence "photo©BE", libres de droit à la seule condition d'indiquer l'origine et faire un lien, les photos qui nous ont été adressées (nous indiquons toujours la source) demeurent la propriété exclusive du propriétaire. » En toute bonne fois, j'en déduis qu'on peut télécharger. Est-ce vrai ? Dans l'affirmative, mon erreur vient de la case cochée lors de leur téléchargement ? Pouvez-vous éclairer ma lanterne, je n'y comprend rien dans ces licences. Dans une autre page du site, il est marqué "Les photos sont sous licence "photo©webmaster eb", :libres de droit, à condition de demander et citer la source en faisant un lien : http://www.chateau-fort-manoir-chateau.eu.", ce n'est pas très clair. Pourquoi mon image a-t-elle été supprimée alors qu'elle est paramétrée exactement de la même façon que celle de Google et Youtube hébergée par un autre utilisateur.

Photos utilisables sur Commons ?

J'ai trouvé un site de photos sur les races bovines portugaises. Il y est mentionné sur cette page que As fotografias obtidas a partir deste site podem ser livremente utilizadas. Sempre que possível deve ser referida a sua origem/autor. Traduction aproximative : les photos obtenues sur ce site peuvent être librement utilisées. Chaque fois que possible, on doit faire référence à son origine ou l'auteur. Il est aussi précisé que les images ne peuvent être vendues, ni utilisées pour offenser, discriminer, diffamer ou dans un mode indécent.

Edit warring about blanking of templated notifications is silly and pointless. All of the messages are in the history of the talk page if anyone wants to see them. je suis nouveau malgré que mon compte est ouvert depuis décembre 2014. Mon objectif, en qualité de contributeur, est de faire un inventaire, des personnalités et des organisations issues des quartiers populaires qui au travers, de plusieurs de leur actions et de leurs prises de position ont eu un traitement médiatique national et internationale auprès de médias sérieux et reconnus.

Effet, mon premier article sur lequel je travaille depuis longtemps ( voir historique dans brouillon) concerne hassan ben m'barek, J'ai donc contacter monsieur ben m'barek afin d'avoir des éléments biographiques et des photos mais aussi de lui demander il y a quelques jours d'envoyez les déclarations de consentement pour les images utilisées dans l'article afin d'être en conformité avec les principes de wikipédia.

Plusieurs administrateurs avaient écrit pour supprimer ces photos mais comme je ne comprenais pas bien les procédures de validations et j'avais beaucoup de mal techniquement à retrouver dans Wikipédia car ce n'est pas du tout facile. Ce qui a eu mon conséquence qu'un administrateur qui avait demandé depuis décembre la suppression de plusieurs photos à poser un bandeau en rouge pour la suppression de la page entière car je remettais des photos supprimés. Il n'y avait pas de mauvaise intention de ma part simplement je ne comprenais pas.

Initialement il y a avait un bandeau jaune qui demandait de préciser les sources avec un délai d'1 an ,

Comme vous êtes un auditeur certifié et reconnu dde wikipédia, j'aimerai savoir si vous pouviez m'apporter votre aide pour me dire ce qui a lieu de faire pour rédiger au mieux cet article et le corriger afin qu'il soit accepté car il est mis en discussion

Probably there was a problem with the bot that day, but it seems up and running again. Normally there is no need to bother about open DR's after deletion by a different procedure. Although I think we should all try to avoid double procedures. In case of File:Lita, avec le nouveau WWE Women's Championship.jpg, the DR was started 4 days after the no source tagging and completely unnecessary, because the no source tagging would take care of deletion after 4 more days. À la suite de mon signalement, tu avais initié une procédure de demande de suppression normale pour les deux fichiers douteux : File:Travaux de la Gare de Dugny la Courneuve août 2015.jpg et File:Travaux de la Gare de Dugny la Courneuve août 2015 (2).jpg. Comme plus de sept jours se sont écoulés depuis la demande que tu avais faite, je me permets de te demander si tu sais pourquoi la suppression effective de ces deux fichiers n'est pas intervenue. Neue Liberale Logo

Merci pour ne pas commencer un Edit War. Le logo ancien des NeuLib est le logo ancien car il est interdit d'utiliser cet logo de 3Mai2016. eMail à l'adresse eMail copyvio est envoyé.

Très gentil d'effacer le logo ancien ASAP, car sinon, l'entreprise qui s'est identifié comme gardeur du copyright certainement va entrer le court contre la partie des Neue Liberale. On voudrait bien laisser ca.

Si vous savez plus, faites l'entreprise contacter les Neue Liberale et clarifier que l'interdiction de l'usage du logo ancien n'est plus en force.

Deleting the rest of User:Lindenhurstlib's uploads

I noticed you closed the two DRs I opened for two of User:Lindenhurstlib's uploads. It really seems like we need to delete the rest of User:Lindenhurstlib's uploads as well, sadly, since they clearly didn't understand the license they were supposedly granting. Hoax flags

I am rather confused what's going on with this hoax flags thing. The original for File:Hualien County flag.png was uploaded to zh:File:Hualien County flag.png. Suppression rapide

Bonjour Thibaut120094 Je te remercie d'avoir initié le débat sur Commons:Deletion requests/File:Tableau de loge App.JPG, il semble clair, que je n'ai pas apposé la bonne licence sur ce tracé public et j'aurais du la replacé dans le domaine public, comme pour la seconde. Afin de ne pas envenimer un débat qui tourne en rond avec le dit auteur du tracé, je te propose de clôturer en suppression celui-ci au plus tôt. Comme je le dit ce dessin ne représente rien de plus qu'un des énième tracé de loge d'apprenti, comme il en existe des centaines dans le domaine public, inutile de tergiverser autour de paternité ou de droit qui n'existe pas, vu qu'aucun de ses dessins ne pouvant être protéger ceux-ci appartenant à des objets ou des thèmes dit : de grande tradition... code de l'INPI. Obviously I thought that these ought to be deleted -- they are either out of scope or copyvio. "Out of scope" is not a reason for {{Speedy}}, so I put a DR on them.

The only reason a DR can be closed sooner than seven days is "Deletion requests for obvious copyright violations can be closed earlier." Therefore, when you close a DR before the seven days have elapsed, I think it's important to cite a source for your finding that the work is a copyvio. Musée de Bretagne

Merci pour la vérification des comptes du Musée de Bretagne. Puis-je te suggérer d’apposer le modèle {{OTRS}} sur le bandeau {{Collections from Musée de Bretagne}} (comme ce qui se fait sur {{Nationalmuseum Stockholm image}} par exemple) ? Je pense qu’ainsi, la légitimité des versements sera plus visible que les {{Verified account}} sur les PU des employés du Musée et on évitera de reverter des demandes de suppression de la part de contributeurs qui ne seront pas allés voir ces PU.

Mais il faudra vérifier régulièrement que le modèle n'est pas utilisé sur des images qui n'ont pas été importés par des employés du musée. Je vais essayer de l'ajouter dans le modèle. Les modèles qui sont traduits en plusieurs langues ne sont pas simples à modifier, en effet. Il faut généralement aller modifier la sous-page /layout. C'est chose faite sur {{Collections from Musée de Bretagne}} mais j’ai du passer outre un avertissement de MediaWiki, n’étant pas dans le groupe habilité à apposer {{PermissionOTRS}}. Je te signale le compte Al walid ben Talal, très probablement du meme auteur, c'est à dire Gloudou. Voir notamment sa dernière image qu'il vient d'insérer sur fr:wikipédia dans un article qu'il viens de créer sous IP, avec un magnifique photomontage avec son (probablement) propre visage (il l'avais déjà fait, voir bistro wp du 25 décembre dernier) ! FOP en Belgique - Restauration de Masse

Je me permets de te recontacter suite à ta très gentille proposition de restauration de masse des fichiers supprimés suite à l'absence de FOP en Belgique.

La loi est entrée en vigueur aujourd'hui, il est donc possible de restaurer tous les fichiers de cette catégorie : Category:Belgian FOP cases

As-tu toujours la possibilité de faire cela automatiquement ?

Behaviour

Not sure what you were thinking when you wrote this. {OTRS pending}, as opposed to {OTRS received}, gives no status at all to a file. Also missing license for 7 days is a demanding reason for deletion. The {OTRS pending} tag does not change that. Please get yourself more familiar with Wikimedia Commons procedures instead of abusing the name of Jesus while showing your lack of understanding to the community. Thank you for your concern but I am more than familiar with Commons procedures. Don't come here talking about my "behaviour" when you delete more than 300 files that followed our OTRS procedure correctly, adding extra work to admins who have to restore them and to the OTRS agent who have to write the request. It is also not very nice to the uploader who took the time to write to OTRS and adding the template to each file. OTRS backlog is huge, we have a very few active volunteers, it is normal that it takes a while for volunteers to get to the ticket and the files, thus the 30 days grace period.

I like it best when we work together and help each other. Sometimes we bump heads and irritate each other though; an unfortunate part of life in general. I'd say more, but I've had a sour stomach for most of the afternoon now because of too much morning coffee, so I'm a bit uncomfortable and distracted. Just because I have been asked: In my opinion Jcb is technically correct, and I don't see why otrs-pending should warrant an extra grace period because anybody could make such claim. Images with otrs-pending will be no-permissions-since _at latest_ after 30 days. (Perhaps this is only my personal interpretation.)

On the other hand, when having a relevant batch of highly valuable images, one could do some search and convert the otrs-pending to otrs-received at least, instead of deleting them. Although this is uncomfortable work (context switch, slow search, etc.) it would have paid back in this specific situation regarding total work amount as well as consumer satisfaction. --Krd 08:03, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
