Loire-Atlantique et Maine-et-Loire[edit]

Salut Sting ! --Flappiefh (talk) 08:50, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Permission for your Tectonic plates boundaries map[edit]

Hello, Mr. Gaba,

Pearson and the Kentucky Department of Education are developing assessment tests for students in Kentucky. We would like to use your map found at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tectonic_plates_boundaries_detailed-en.svg to illustrate a question on a practice biology test.

We will be happy to credit you as the author of the map, but we would not be able to distribute the test in which it would appear under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic license. Would it still be permissible to use this map in the test?

Best regards, Robin Dufner Permissions Coordinator Pearson robin.dufner@pearson.com — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 159.182.1.4 (talk) 21:50, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Maps of Albania[edit]

Hi Sting, i'm come here for asking yourself if you can make the maps of borders of Albania half-amazing as the File:Pyrenees topographic map-fr.svg.

I know that is significant work to do, but it would be so useful to make articles about the borders of Albania in some wikis (actually, it only exist three articles which are more lists than articles. Regards. - Lector d Wiki (talk) 22:50, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portobello Books: Brilliant Maps[edit]

Dear Eric Gaba,

I am writing to let you know that Portobello Books will be publishing a book of maps with Ian Wright, based on his website Brilliant Maps, in November 2018. The Brilliant Maps book will feature maps based on existing data, reimagined by a team of graphic designers, and will be sold throughout the world in volume and electronic form.

We would love to use the concept for your map Colonial Africa 1913 map in the book, both in our edition and in any editions we licence to publishers. We will not use your original map, but rather redraw the map using the most up-to-date information.

As the concept is your own, we’d like to offer you a brief biography at the back of the book, to acknowledge the inspiration for the map and to allow readers to discover more of your work; any licensees would do the same.

As we are working to a tight production schedule, we would appreciate hearing from you with your biography and statement of approval by the 29th June.

Do let me know if you have any questions about the book or our plans.

Best wishes,

Sinéad O'Callaghan

File:Morocco location map.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Use of map image[edit]

Hi,

I would like to use your map to show the location of The Orkney Islands, off the northern coast of Scotland, in a Facebook post to educate my contacts on FB about the Islands location. The post is not for financial gain and you will be credited. Hope that is acceptable

Alaska compared to Lower 48[edit]

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alaska_area_compared_to_conterminous_US.svg

A really great map! It visualizes the vast area of Alaska and the lengths of (SE) coast strip and (SW) island chain.

(In mid 1982 heading for Alaska, hitch-hiking from Rochester, NY, I did not even reach this state, but got 24 hrs stuck in Wonowon, nice name, see

We are a small translation company, which has translated Alexandre Dumas's book Georges to Finnish. We sould like to use your map about Mauritius (File:Bonne - Isle de France (Detail).jpg) in that translation. Is that ok? Should we also ask from Frank Schulenburg?

Map of Morocco[edit]

This is not a correct map of Morocco. I am Moroccan with a PhD from Essouira and the Sahara area, and that land belongs to us, as it has for over 10 thousands of years. Do not cut out country in half. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2A02:A44F:8A1D:1:41A6:864F:F240:3EB4 (talk) 23:56, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Use of your Fuller Dymaxian Projection Map/software[edit]

Hello! I've used your Fuller World Map Projection as the start of a tattoo. I'm getting the triangular sections as I travel to new places. I was hoping to have a look at the code you used to generate the map, as I would like to project lat/lon pairs onto the output map so I can place them correctly. Is this code available anywhere?

Many thanks! Chris — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cculpepper1214 (talk • contribs) 01:55, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
