Caucasian States location map request

Hello, I want to request a location map of the Caucasian states just like the location map of the Baltic states. Your ISIL/ ISIS map

HI NordNordWest, Can you please clarify what the regions in pink represent on this map of yours? Certainty over the meaning of the shading is causing confusion in a number of Wikipedias in other languages. Some like the Danish even see a third colour wherre I see none. Karte für Vier-Kontinente-Meisterschaft

Hallo, und vielen Dank für deine Bearbeitung der Karte zur Vier-Kontinente-Meisterschaft. Jetzt müsstest du bitte noch mal Hand anlegen. Es gibt eine erste Gold-Medaille für Kasachstan zu vermelden. Das heißt, entweder müsste man Kasachstan in Gold einfärben oder ganz auf diese Hervorhebung verzichten. Da es mir eigentlich nur um die Teilnahme-Länder und -Kandidaten geht, würde ich eher die letzte Variante bevorzugen, also alle "goldenen" Länder auf "Blau" umfärben. Moin! Wie du hier lesen kannst, ist nicht ganz klar, wo sich das Wikingerlager befand, entweder in Asselt oder in Elsloo. Die Quelle, die hier zugrunde liegt, hat sich für Elsloo entschieden, sodass ich das übernommen habe. Von daher kann ich Asselt nicht zusätzlich hineinnehmen, denn sonst würde die Karte zwei Lager zeigen, wo es nur eins gab. NNW 16:47, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Ja wegen der Metadaten, die mit meinem upload gekommen sind. Durch zurücksetzen gehen die aber nach meiner Erinnerung nicht weg, man muss dann wahrscheinlich komplett löschen und neu hochladen. Karte erstellen

Hallo NNW, Du hast so viele tolle Karten gemacht. Kannst Du mir verraten welche Tools Du dafür verwendet hast? (bin Mac-User) Schreibe gerade einen Artikel über eine ehemalige Straßenbahn, dafür die Karte. Oder könntest Du sogar eine anfertigen? Das kommt auf die Karte an. Viele sind in Illustrator entstanden, für einige war auch noch Photoshop vonnöten, für Geländedarstellungen sind einige Spezialprogramme notwendig, bei denen man einiges kartografisches Wissen mitbringen sollte. Für Straßenbahnkarten ist eher Benutzer:Chumwa die ideale Ansprechperson, da er thematisch eher drin ist als ich. Viele Grüße, NNW 16:58, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

A kind request

Would it be possible for you to create the Pakistani equivalent of these maps: File:India location map2.svg and File:India location map 3.png. Most official maps and documents in Pakistan, including those used by the government, often tend to show the disputed Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan. The maps will obviously be rarely used, if at all, on Wikipedia however the maps are required for educational purposes, as is the case with the Indian maps you compiled. nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.

Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.

Darüber hinaus kannst Du auch an der Arbeit der Jury teilnehmen, die Mitte Oktober die Fotos bewerten und die Gewinner ermitteln wird. Bis zum 15. August kannst du hier Deine Bewerbung einreichen.

I've been following for a while some of the location maps you've created for districts and regions of Ghana such as in West_Mamprusi_District and Brong-Ahafo_Region. Hello! The only location map of Ghana I made is File:Ghana location map.svg but none for any region of Ghana. First of all you need a location map template. en:West Mamprusi District uses en:Template:Location map Ghana. The parameter |pushpin_map=Ghana defines which map is used in the infobox and the red dot is automatically put where the coordinates are defined (|latd= 10 |latm=21 |lats= |latNS=N |longd=0 |longm=46 |longs= |longEW=W). If you want to use such a location map without an infobox you can do it the way it is described at en:Template:Location map. NNW 07:57, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Cyprus adm location map.svg

Hello. I am using File:Cyprus adm location map.svg and File:Cyprus location map.svg a lot. Are very useful. But there is a problem. The map are show the condition in Cyprus after 1974. Before that there are two problems:

• 1) Before 1960 Cyprus was under the British Empire. Can you upload a map just with Cyprus shapes? With out inside borders?
• 2) Between 1960 and 1974 Cyprus was one, not divided. Only en:Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia was under the British Empire. Can you upload a map with only the grey area of base areas (with out the seperates lines for the northern part)?

It' not necessary, but if you want and can, you may upload a new version (replace the file) of File:Cyprus adm (–1960) location map.svg with the districts line. Is the same as File:Cyprus adm (1960–1974) location map.svg with out the base areas. I think that the districts areas were exist between 1878-1960 (British Empire period at the island). Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic: Arabic and Spanish official

Somaliland: Somali, Arabic and English official

Leider entspricht sie inzwischen nicht mehr ganz dem aktuellen Stand, weil im Dezember 2014 auf der Bahnstrecke Lübeck–Lübeck-Travemünde Strand der Bahnhof Lübeck-Dänischburg IKEA in Betrieb genommen wurde. Hello! I stopped updating the old location maps (after all that trouble about the Ukraine and Russia maps) and started the New Series (Series N) of location maps which definitely says that these maps always show the de facto situation (that stops editwarring) and they have a less dark blue for rivers so that names which are shown in a location map can be reader more easily. For Burundi there is file:Burundi adm location map.svg with the same area show as file:Burundi location map.svg so it can be changed without a problem. NNW 20:11, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

I see that the updated picture says "The old version will be uploaded as a new file and thus is still available", but I can't find it. Issue on the Syrian map

This is concerning an issue on the Syrian location map. A recent dispute has occurred regarding the location of certain villages along the Euphrates River. It affects the location of villages on the Syrian Civil War wiki map. Without going into too much detail, suffice it to say that there is an issue in the map svg itself that needs to be resolved: The Euphrates river appears too thick near the border with Turkey. It is no longer a thick lake, but rather a river, partly due to water shortages. The river's size and shape needs to be adjusted to the current status of the river, which can be interpreted from satellite images. Presumably, not only the Syria location map but also 2 other maps which use this map also need to be updated. The goal of this requested change is to improve the reliability and accuracy of this map, and along with it, Wikipedia. I and the rest of the community would greatly appreciate it if you would update the map. I would do it myself, but I like the necessary equipment and expertise to edit and save SVG files. Thank you. Daher ist es wünschenswert, die Karte zu ergänzen. Die Beschriftung Bourg-St.Maurice sollte in Bourg-Saint-Maurice umbenannt werden, da der Ort sowohl in der deutsch- als auch in der französischsprachigen Wikipedia so heißt. Request for partial version of File:Yugoslavia (1939–41) location map.svg

G'day NordNordWest! I am using your excellent location map for a series of en WP articles about the invasion of Yugoslavia, and have found that this one is too large for the level of detail I need for en:4th Army (Kingdom of Yugoslavia), en:7th Army (Kingdom of Yugoslavia) and en:1st Army Group (Kingdom of Yugoslavia). If you have a look at the articles in question, you will see that the markers are clustered in the top left quadrant. Hello! Technically it is possible to create such a map. The creation of location maps is reasonable when they can be used in more than two or three articles. I estimate a location map of Northwestern Yugoslavia in 1939 much too special for further use than the articles you mentioned. It would be easier to take the location map, scale and crop it and locate the places within this new file if you really think that the location maps right now are insufficient. Another advantage: This file could be re-used much easier than a map which is created using a template. Btw: In my opinion they work quite fine although you only use a small part of it. Zusammen mit dem nachfolgenden „Die Versuche, eine Landverbindung durch den Erwerb der Grafschaften Mark und Berg zu schaffen, scheiterten zuletzt unter Erzbischof Dietrich von Moers“ verstehe ich den Satz so, dass damit lediglich gemeint ist, dass es sich um eine Exklave gehandelt hat. Ob für das Vest dasselbe gilt wie für Westfalen („Verfassungsrechtlich unterstand das Land zwar den Kölner Erzbischöfen und dem Kölner Domkapitel, in der Verfassungspraxis blieb es jedoch ein eigenständiges Territorium.“), was denn auch der Grund für die unterschiedliche Darstellung in der Karte sein mag (ich habe sie nur übersetzt, nicht gezeichnet), kann ich nicht sagen. There is the new connection Verona-Bologna-Napoli; then there are new bus routes operated by "NTV ItaloBus" that connect the station of "Reggio Emilia AV" with Piacenza-Parma, Cremona-Parma, Mantova-Carpi, Sassuolo-Modena (maybe you can make these connections with a different colour like blue). Aktualisierung Karte Schmöckwitz-Grünauer Uferbahn

Hallo NNW! Schöne Karte! In der Zwischenzeit haben sich einige (geringfügige) Details allerdings geändert:

• die Haltestelle "Schappachstraße" liegt seit 2012 südlich der Schappachstraße.
• das Kehrgleis dort existiert nicht mehr. (Schrift vielleicht grau, wie zB auch Grünau Staatsbahnhof?)
• Die Haltestelle Reifenwerk ist seitdem auch abgebaut (seit den letzten Woche ist auch vom Reifenwerk selbst fast nichts mehr zu sehen. Die Fläche wird saniert und im nächsten Frühjahr aufgeforstet).
• Die Haltestelle Zum Seeblick liegt seitdem weiter nördlich Richtung Reifenwerk, etwa dort, wo in deiner Karte die Kleinen Waldstücken westl. Schmöckwitz gegenüber liegen.
• Die Haltestelle Bammelecke könnte man als Saisonhaltestelle kennzeichnen.

das ging ja schnell! Super! Zwei ganz kleine Anmerkungen noch: die Haltestelle Sportpromenade liegt weiter östlich, etwa genau da, wo die Krumme Lake in den Langen See mündet und Du (ganz nebensächlich) Du hast die diversen Inseln im Langen See nicht dabei (kleiner und Großer Rohrwall vor Karolinenhof, Weidenwall etc. vor Schmöckwitz). Bin auf den Gesprächsfaden zu dieser Karte in der Kartenwerkstatt in 2013 gestoßen. Da ging es darum, ob die StraBa in der Schappachstraße in Mittellage oder neben der Straße lag. Der Baumbestand ist beiderseits ähnlich alt. Ebenso wie einige Gebäude (Westseite steht das ältestes Geb. Karolinenhofer), mindestens aber die Parzelierung. Der Fußwegquerschnitt ist relativ standardisiert in Karolinenhof. Die Gleise müssen also in der Straße gelegen haben. Ein verschwenken im Verlauf der Schappachstraße macht keinen Sinn. Auf dem Foto im Karolinenhofartikel ist zu erkennen, wie bis Anfang der 90er das Doppel-Kehrgleis lag. Eins mittig, eins ostseits. Also alles richtig mit eurer damaligen Argumentation. Auch hier gut zu erkennen: [4] stammt aus den frühen 90ern, das Kopfsteinpflaster ist noch original, ich würde sagen spätestens 20 Jahre, da bis zu dieser Zeit der Teil besiedelt wurde. Spätere Straßenzüge waren lange nur Sandwege.
