SDing userpages

Hi Motopark. I don't get it, why are pages like User:EmmaL27 and User:SourisValleyMuseum out of scope? They are merely describing themselves AFAIU... Regards, Rehman 13:20, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

I have cleaned list, where are link to some external page like myspace service and I think that they are promotional--Motopark (talk) 13:39, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
No real time because there is a massive outbreak of spam cross wiki and has been for a couple of months now. There are websites advertising tools to allow folk to create accounts and spam Foundation sites. Given that it is very hard to spam galleries and the like they are using talk pages and user pages here - that is abuse of Foundation sites plain and simple. Not got time to review this in detail but there really is a major issue to cross wiki folk (& I am one) at present. --Herby talk thyme 08:26, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Just blocked three spam related IP/accounts in the past 10 mins which is all the time I have at present. This really is a serious issue and I will post on an admin board later about it. --Herby talk thyme 08:34, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, good to know--Motopark (talk) 10:06, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Motopark. I'm maintaining most media under Category:Musical instruments for several years. We always needs reference for each media/categories, because without these, several media/categories couldn't be enough organized and quoted on Wikipedia articles.

On File:JROK & Blackmachine guitar.jpg, you think "reference links" as advertisement, but in truth it is not the advertisement. Do you think what type of references is not the advertisement ? I'm glad if I could read your alternate idea for references on Wikimedia Commons. sincerely, --Clusternote (talk) 08:10, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Please don't bite the newbies. The boy was just creating a user page. It's ok to have a user page be about yourself. --Vera (talk) 14:58, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Do not add internet links to picture pages

You're the one adding the Facebook link to File:Angel pirografato su legno in pioppo 50x70 da Giusy Busco.JPG. If it is the source link, please put it to the description box source like it's supposed to be done and stop wasting the time of us both. Thanks. Palosirkka (talk) 18:08, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Request

Hi! I would like to ask you to upload pictures of the next people: Ari Puheloinen, Gustav Hägglund, Jan Klenberg, Teuvo Aura and the logotype of the Finnish construction company Hartela.--82.128.222.232 20:15, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello

Hey. Good afternoon. The image that you said it was not the case, notice that it looks to the right and one to the left. These files do not match, the file that I uploaded was the work itself. Greetings. --Elcapo1999 (talk) 17:13, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

adding a catagory to my images in the commons

Hello Motopark--I am new here and have added images for the of the Gee's Slough Effigy mounds. In my first round of uploads someone must have been "looking over my shoulder" and added them to categories. When I uploaded two images for the "Gees Slough" Effigy Mound of New Lisbon I was receiving a message that these images were not in a category and so I made the template you removed called Template:"Gees Slough" Effigy Mound of New Lisbon, WI,...which is understandable in that they had text, etc. that was not what you want to do here. So today I used the "wizard" or whatever it is called and they suggested putting them in the category of Category:Effigy mounds so I have done so after mistakenly putting the code line in the image file under the |other_fields= position, then I looked at the other images and the way they had added the category code to the permissions section so I then changed it to try and do it the right way. Now I find that if I am logged in, I will see the images in the Category:Effigy mounds but if I am not logged in I will not see the images in that category page. So I have been trying very hard to "do things right" but I am not sure what the story is and the status of these images. So I am a little frustrated. They are File:Gees slough effigy mounds.JPG and File:Gees slough effigy mounds 2.JPG . So what am I doing wrong?

Regards, Sixa369 (talk) 03:58, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

You can use tool Find categories that can be founded from picture page, if you don't find any category, it's not problem, somebody else perhaps helps you and add those. Commons are place to pictures, not place to text, that's why the template has been deleted. You will have good pictures, please continue your work.--Motopark (talk) 04:13, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

That is exactly what I did for the images above,i.e., used the tool Find Images, and Category:Effigy mounds was what they suggested so, as described above, that is what I did. Still same issue in that the images show up in that category when I am logged in but not when I am logged off. Should I be asking someone from the Wikipedia side of things? Sixa369 (talk) 15:10, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Please ask more from COM:VP--Motopark (talk) 15:17, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

File:Casio CZ-101 upside down.jpg

The image File:Casio CZ-101 upside down.jpg was derived from original image File:Adam (Jupiter's Ring) @ Coachella 2008.jpg provided under CC-by-SA-2.0 on Flickr in JPEG format. Your deletion request seems inappropriate. Please check validness of your deletion request. best, --Clusternote (talk) 07:33, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

But If I crop the picture, I can't get this version, so the picture has been cropped from other picture--Motopark (talk) 08:44, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
You should learn more about derived work before issuing inappropriate deletion request without enough knowledge. The derived work is not only mean the "cropped" version of image, but also includes more complex editing results.
For example, the File:Casio CZ-101 upside down.jpg was
  1. first cropped from File:Adam (Jupiter's Ring) @ Coachella 2008.jpg,
  2. then rotated to correct horizontal,
  3. trapezoid translated to change effective viewpoint, and
  4. finally added missing/hidden parts by hand drawing.
  5. (Also sometimes contrast/color are adjusted if these adjustments were essentially required)
I always editing derived images with above procedure, and resulting hundreds of results were all accepted as proper derived work. (Note: I always locally keep editing results in GIMP or SVG format, so I can always show the validness of my derived works)
You should withdraw the deletion request for my derived work. --Clusternote (talk) 11:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

I think you misunderstood the purpose of the copyright notices on the myspace.com pages. They are not meant for content uploaded by myspace users to their account as section 6 of the 'Myspace.com Terms of Use Agreement' [1] clearly states (see also my remark on the deletion discussion page). Therefore your delete request for this photo seems inappropriate. Optimale (talk) 15:08, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot 12:40, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

File:Diane dipiazza.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Dank/thank you Kulturagent

Hi, I'm the creator and owner of

  • File:NonSurgicalRhinoplasty5.jpg
  • File:NonSurgicalRhinoplastyTwo.jpg
  • File:Nonsurgicalrhinoplasty1.jpg
  • File:NonSurgicalRhinoplasty3.jpg

I thought I had posted and tagged them correctly. Can you tell me what I did wrong (you've deleted three, and it looks like the fourth is about to come down. Thanks! River2zero (talk) 14:50, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Ah, I think I see the problem; they've been published elsewhere already; is that the issue? River2zero (talk) 14:55, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, and your pictures must do like this File:Zona metropolitana de guadalajara..jpg--Motopark (talk) 15:06, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, but I'm not seeing how I can make a composite of two separate photos (with one caption shared by both photos); can you expalin how to do that? Thanks River2zero (talk) 17:52, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Source?

Hello,

Why did you tag User:Otto Placik's images as no source? He is a medical doctor, so I don't see any problem. Regards, Yann (talk) 17:54, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

I have given to him instruction hos to load pictures first in commons and then collect them.--Motopark (talk) 18:16, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

In other projects I created this page. I can confirm with them. --Strannik27 (talk) 05:14, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

A thought

You reverted JonParangin this user's first action, which was blanking his talk page. I'm not sure how you found that, but no matter.

My thought is that having a new user blank his talk page as the very first thing he does is odd -- it suggests that he might actually be an experienced user, which indeed this was. He was the second sock of a serial recreator of deleted images.

When you find odd actions by a new user, you might want to nose around a little, or call a CU. .     Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 13:04, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for info.--Motopark (talk) 14:22, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

I removed the {{No source since}} tag that you added from this file. Please see File talk:Lazika IFV.jpg. I hope that's okay. If there's some other issue, please just add the tag again and explain on the file talk page. Cheers, LX (talk, contribs) 12:15, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Please do not place inappropriate warning templates

I'm sure that you're trying to be helpful, but please don't tell me that I can't remove templates from my own talk page. The guideline COM:TALK states "Others delete comments after they have responded to them (but this practice is no longer recommended - archiving is preferred)." Preferred and recommended do not mean required. I am in the group called "others", and I choose to not have my talk page emblazoned with huge, unhelpful templates. This is common practice on Wikipedia. Please do not place inappropriate warning templates on my talk page in the future. Thank you. - MrX 18:21, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Commons have own rules and this warning are in use here. You can ask more in coffee room.--Motopark (talk) 18:59, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Motopark, you're just wrong. Be nice to people and don't (ab)use a template that's intended for persistent copyright violation uploaders at talk pages of users who are not persistent copyvio uploaders. Multichill (talk) 00:35, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
"missing info" notices are not "warning templates". When the issues have been addressed, the user is certainly entitled to remove them without getting slapped with a "don't remove warnings" template. Rd232 (talk) 01:02, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Disruptive editing warning

Stop adding templates to my user page. I explained the guidelines to you above. Did you even read it? There is no rule requiring that I leave warnings that I have responded to on my talk page

Consider this a good faith warning that if you add a similar warning to my user page again, or revert the warnings, I will file an administrators noticeboard report for disruptive editing. This could result in you being blocked from editing. - MrX 19:15, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Rollback

Because of your blatant misuse of rollback rights at User talk:MrX, I have removed them. You may request them back in the usual way, but will need to persuade the community that you have understood what you did wrong. Please read COM:ROLLBACK and feel free to ask if you still have questions. Rd232 (talk) 01:00, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
