Hi! If you want to send me a message, please send it to my Italian discussion page here. Thank you!

File:Coat of arms of the Holy See.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Sorry, but the file you uploaded was 700% of the size of the existing file, and no explanation at all was given of the alleged improvement. You really need to say why your file might be considered superior if you're going to replace a file with one that's 7 times bigger, with no increase of detail... AnonMoos (talk) 17:27, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1) You can have hundreds of kilobytes of irrelevant file bloat in an SVG file, and the file will still render to a PNG just fine -- but there are a number of people active on Commons who care about SVG coding quality, and like to keep SVG files "lean and clean" when possible (especially flag SVGs), so from that point of view replacing a clean SVG with a dirty SVG is a step backwards.
2) You still have provided no explanation whatsoever as to why your SVG might be considered superior.
3) Maybe you should have discussed the matter first on the file talk page before uploading a file version with a significantly different appearance to all previous file versions. AnonMoos (talk) 17:40, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:United Kingdom Flag Specifications.svg[edit]

That's nice, but it's a 2:1 construction sheet, and does not automatically translate to a 3:2 flag. File:Complete Guide to Heraldry Fig777.png might be more relevant... AnonMoos (talk) 17:46, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I really do not understand the "17:46, 28 December 2012" remarks you left on my user talk page, nor can I figure out whether they are worth trying to understand. However, what I do know is that a 2:1 flag construction sheet cannot always be automatically translated to a 3:2 flag construction sheet (and certainly not in the case of the United Kingdom flag). For example, when you change 2:1 to 3:2, you can either keep the ratio of the width of the red cross strokes as a proportion of the height of the flag, or you can keep the ratio of the width of the red cross strokes as a proportion of the width of the flag, but you can't do both at the same time simultaneously. You can only do one or the other, and which one you choose to do is a matter of interpretation. There are many other interpretative decisions necessarily involved in trying to use a 2:1 flag construction sheet as a guide for a 3:2 flag.
Your version may be better in some particular details, but overall, it makes the George cross and its white fimbriation occupy a large percentage of the whole flag rectangle, crowding the blue flag field and the Andrew and so-called "Patrick" crosses into the relatively small corner rectangles. I don't think there's an official UK government 3:2 flag specification, but we do have File:Complete Guide to Heraldry Fig777.png, which purports to be a copy of an 1801 document showing the pattern of a non-2:1 flag, and it certainly doesn't show the George cross fimbriation as being nearly as wide as it is in your SVG file.
Therefore for various reasons, your SVG file does not appear to be useful in its current form under the name "File:Flag of the United Kingdom (3-2 aspect ratio).svg" at the current time -- and you really would have done well to discuss some of the issues above first, before launching an file overwrite war.
I just now uploaded a cleaned-up version of your bloated SVG file at File:Flag of the United Kingdom (3-2 aspect ratio) - alternate.svg. It is another unfortunate aspect of your recent actions that you rely on other people to do the work of cleaning up after you. AnonMoos (talk) 01:10, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, I still have no idea whatsoever what you're talking about, and strongly doubt whether you have any idea what you're talking about. Where is this alleged non-horizontality, and how could it be produced by the following untransformed SVG path specification: M30,0V40M0,20H60? It would be nice if you had your act together so that you could work together with others without producing completely unnecessary friction accompanied by tangential nonsense. AnonMoos (talk) 20:56, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. As for File:United Kingdom Flag Specifications.svg, as I attempted to explain above, it's impossible to simplistically or automatically translate a 2:1 flag construction sheet into 3:2 flag construction sheet, because the proportionalities with respect to overall flag width and the proportionalities with respect to overall flag height cannot both remain the same (or the George cross will be distorted), so that some interpretive decisions need to be made. Your particular interpretive decisions no doubt seem good to you, but they result in the George cross plus its white fimbriation taking up a greater proportion of the overall 3:2 flag rectangle than they did of the overall 2:1 flag rectangle, which other people might consider a bad thing. Maybe you could answer why the George cross fimbriation is quite a bit wider in File:Flag of the United Kingdom (3-2 aspect ratio) - alternate.svg than in File:Complete Guide to Heraldry Fig777.png, which is claimed to be a copy of an 1801 specification of the flag at a ratio which is a lot closer to 3:2 than 2:1 is? -- AnonMoos (talk) 12:28, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro (1443).svg[edit]

Hi - this Coa holds the insignia of a "Gonfalone della Chiesa" which is a personal appointment by the Pope. Several Members of the House of Montefeltro were appointed personally. But was it ever given to the family as a inheritable title? Or is the former File:Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro.svg the only family crest? -- Maxxl² - talk 21:10, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(moved from User talk:Maxxl2) Hi Maxxl2, do you mean the black two-headed eagle on top of the coat? I really don't know, I've used that soure here http://www.heraldique-europeenne.org/Regions/Italie/Montefeltro.htm. --F l a n k e r (talk) 21:23, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Thx for your quick answer. Could we continue the talk on this/your page only pls? The split answers are confusing.
The first Montefeltro family Coa is File:Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro.svg. Whenn the Federico da Montefeltro was appointed "Gonfalone della Chiesa" he changed the Coa to a quarterly with the Papal States insignia in the pale. His son and his grandson were appointed to the same title. But afterwards other nobelties were appointed to function as "Gonfalone della Chiesa". My view is: File:Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro (1443).svg was a personal Coa of three or four generations but never the Coa of the house, which was always File:Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro.svg. Is that correct? -- Maxxl² - talk 21:39, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I checked that again: only en:Federico da Montefeltro in 1462 and his son en:Guidobaldo da Montefeltro were appointed en:Gonfalonier of the Church and allowed to carry the Papal State insignia in pale. Thus the House of Montefeltro coat of arms was never changed. Don't you think a renaming of the File:Coat of arms of the House of Montefeltro (1443).svg to File:Coat of arms of Federico and Guidobaldo da Montefeltro.svg would make sense? -- Maxxl² - talk 08:39, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree: the new name is certainly more appropriate. --F l a n k e r (talk) 18:44, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File:Rank insignia of боцман of the Soviet Navy.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not.

Thank you!

Stemma araldico dell'esercito[edit]

--Gigillo83 (talk) 09:48, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ho utilizzato, come sempre, Inkscape...
:( Scusami ancora. --Gigillo83 (talk) 07:45, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Cacchio...è vero! Non me ne ero accorto!!

--Holapaco77 (talk) 08:24, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
