Czechoslovakian stamps

Hello! Are you sure that the image Image:Karel_Capek_stamp.jpg is public domain? I think that Czechoslovakian stamps are fully copyrighted. Have you got any more information about it? --Snek01 12:51, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I am not sue if I can speak Czech to you, so I am speaking in English.

• 1) I wish to use Czech postage stamps but it is not possible due to Autorský Zákon č. 121/2000 Sb. Every country has got another rights for using postage stamp images from public domain to fully copyright.
• 2) Czech banknotes are limited in use due to another laws. I think at least parts of banknotes could be possible to use, but I am not sure. It is sensitive question.
• 3) I do not know if it is possible to use logo of Charles University. If it is Coat of arms I think that you can use it. But if it is logo only, I am not sure. --Snek01 14:42, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Out of town

  • It is simple ... and boring. The general instructions are here Template talk:Featured pictures candidates#What to do after voting is finished. At the top of Commons:Featured picture candidates we have the necessary links to featured pictures, chronological list and Commons:Featured picture candidates/Log. If a picture has not been promoted, all we have to do is to archive its file in the log page and remove it from Commons:Featured picture candidates/candidate list. If a picture has been promoted, we have also to:

1. Include the "Featured picture" template into its file;
2. Insert the picture in featured pictures (see instructions there);
3. Insert the picture in chronological list;
4. Send the "FPpromotion" template to the creator and nominator.

I don't think you will have much work. There are two pics to promote in the days to come. Thank you for your help.

• Welcome back! Thank you for your help with Promotheus. Do you remember this picture ? You said something has to be adressed before it can hope to be featured. Do you think i could be so rude as to insist and ask for help? :-) Diligent

• Thank you for your welcome note. You may have a hint on where I was during the last week looking at my userpage. As for the Prometheus picture I'm afraid I'm not a specialist in editing. All I did (besides offering my help to the poor guy, which he politely declined...) was using an automatic tool of Corel PhotoPaint ("autoequalize"), which redistributes the tonal range of the photo in the interval 0-255 thus enhancing the contrast. To improve this picture I suggest two actions: to correct the blown parts in the windows (using masks?) and try to straight the curved columns (though that is not serious). Unfortunately I'm not competent to do it myself, almost all of my experience comes from the analogic era. Regards, Joaquim. Alvesgaspar 09:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Les rois assyriens

Ahoj,

J'ai lu ton commentaire au sujet de la photo que j'ai importée sur Wikicommons.

Je n'ai pas trop compris. Il faut que je décrive mieux le sujet de la photo dans le titre ? C'est ca le modèle ? Que signifie la transaction : {{CC-BY-2.5}} {{GFDL}}  ? Est ce que je peux modifier le statut de la photo a posteriori. je voudrais que celle sur les rois assyriens rentre dans le domaine public. Enfin, je retrouve mes propres photos, mais je ne les retrouve pas dans la page sur Prague. Je dois ajouter une catégorie du genre : [[Catégorie: Prague]]  ? Comment faire pour qu'elle se trouve sur la page Prague des commons dans d'autres langues ?

J'ai plein de questions, car je trouve l'utilisation de Wikimedia commons beaucoup plus ardu que celle de Wikipedia. Merci pour ton aide. Zizkovak

Tyršův dům - Michnův palác

Ahoj. Mám dva snímky domů na pražské ulici Újezd, co patří České obci sokolské. Nevím však, co z toho vlastně je Michnův palác. Nechci je zatím nahrávat na commons, aby tam nebyly pod špatným názvem, ale mohu Ti je případně poslat zmenšené mailem, jestli bys je identifikoval. Photos centre commerciaux

Salut,

D'abords, je vais te souhaiter une bonne année 2008, avec tout ce que le destin peut t'apporter de bien, et tout plein de contributions wiki ;).

Je me rappelle bien sûr de toi, pour la raison que tu as citée.

Pour les photos, j'ai été dernièrement assez occupé, et devrait l'être pour 2-3 semaines encore (je ne suis plus actif depuis 1 mois !). Mais je vais bien sûr tenter de satisfaire ta demande. Je vais aller voir du côté place de la victoire. Moi aussi je connais un passage d'une galerie marchande XIXe assez sympa pas loin de la bourse du commerce, mais je crois que c'est en rénovation.

Quant aux centre commerciaux récents, il peut y avoir problème effectivement... mais étant donné qu'un centre commercial n'a pas tellement de caractère artistique, peut-être qu'on sera indulgent. Je pense tout de même faire comme tu as suggéré, et contacter la direction, histoire d'être sûr et propre. Comme j'habite en banlieue, je n'aurais aucun mal à trouver ce que tu recherches.

Je pense aussi n'avoir aucun problème pour les parkings.

J'ai parlé de retourner voir mon amie assez bientôt, au Luxembourg. Elle est messine d'origine et nous emmène parfois à Metz. Donc oui, il est possible que j'y retourne. Pourquoi pas voir ton père donc si l'occasion se présente ? ;)

Je suis désolé de répondre si tard, j'ai été très occupé dernièrement. J'ai passé mon samedi après midi à Paris, et je pense avoir vu la galerie dont tu te rappelles (Galerie Vivienne). Il parait effectivement que c'est l'une des plus classes à Paris J'ai pris des photos pour être sûr : [1], [2], [3], [4]

Galerie Colbert

je mets le temps... mais suite à ta "commande" voici une photo de la galerie colbert, à Paris : Image:Galerie_Colbert.jpg. Ce n'est plus une galerie commerciale semble-t-il (plutôt des salles de cours) mais comme je l'ai faite en tentant de satisfaire ta demande, je me suis dis que ça t'intéresse peut-être.

Galerie Vivienne

J'ai mis le temps, mais je ne t'ai pas oublié. Voici une photo de la galerie Vivienne. Elle pourrait être améliorée à mon avis si les lampes étaient toutes allumées, et si j'y vais un peu plus tôt pour un ciel plus bleu. Je la trouve tout de même assez réussie pour la diffuser. Désolé, je ne suis pas très rapide... J'espère que tu es encore actif.

Commons:Language policy

Hi, in an effort to move the Commons:Language policy closer to completion, I have been editing it and cleaning it up for the last few days. I have tried to make the page as neutral and consistent as possible with the relevant policy and guidleine pages that it cross references.

I would appreciate it, as someone who has discussed some of these policies in the past, if you could look at Commons talk:Language policy and contribute your thoughts. This is the version that exists as I am writing it and I am encouraging everyone to consider the "static" page until everything gets sorted out.

Salut Diligent ! Tes suggestions sont intéressantes mais je manque de données dans les pays voisins (Belgique, Suisse) : ce qu'il me faudrait c'est un tableau des communes de ces pays avec leurs coordonnées en Lambert-93 puis que je leur applique la transformation "à la louche" que j'avais fait subir aux communes françaises, mais je n'ai pas gardé les paramètres utilisés (donc c'est du boulot !). Pour les terminaisons en -sart, -sard, je peux regarder un de ces jours mais j'espère que tu n'es pas pressé ! Ça correspondrait à combien de communes ?
