Interesting shot. My comment is mainly about the restoration, which seems only part done. Blending the large semicircle pattern seems to make it into the source of light -- is it, though? There's still a strip of that pattern along the top-left, some splotches throughout, and maybe light smudging from the cleanup. Thank you for your comment. I think that principle doesn't apply in the same way for wild animals. This giraffe was photographed in a dark forest where shutter speed was at 1/250s while still having ISO 2500. In a dark forest with no sun illuminating the subject, the subject shouldn’t be very bright. Moreover, animals usually have patterns, shapes and/or colors on their coats that camouflage them in their natural environment as it is an advantage for them. Also, I think that the giraffe is highlighted enough in other ways like the crop, the bokeh separating the subject from the background, the fact that it's still very visible, etc. Giles Laurent (talk) 10:03, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I like how they stay in the shadows, giving a sense of calm. The ones on the right seem to be slightly lit. The feeling of ‘awkwardness’ may come from a mix of humidity, the break between afternoon showers, and chronic air pollution in Kolkata. I've choosen to keep the original crop to have the ambience post race. You have riders passing behind the victorious team, soigneur from the team comes to share the hapiness of riders, cameraman is filming. It's just a bicycle race ambience that i want to show accross this picture. And in the center, you have the winner of the race with a big smile. it's a whole that I find hard to dissociate. I'm not sure that there is a lot of pictures representing a recent cyclist rider victory on commons with this angle of view. The idea of this picture is to share with this young rider the hapiness of winning a famous race, and see the team spirit behind this individual sport. Support I have made a little test: mirrored the left half or the right half of the image to create a completely symmetrical picture. At the first glance the results of both tests looked compelling; at the 2nd one they looked both somewhat boring. Then I switched back at the original image. Abstain as author. San Marino has three towers each with a feather on top. The second tower, called Cesta, stands on the highest point of Mount Titano. The fifteenth-century tower is pentagonal in shape. The rooms of the guardhouse and the castellan are currently occupied (since 1956) by the Museum of Ancient Weapons of San Marino. The Montale tower is the smallest of the three towers, it was a watchtower built in the 14th century at a strategically defensive position. @Riad Salih I have tried for a while but you have probably already found the best possible solution. At the bottom the mosaic margins at the left and right continue downwards. This makes the bottom crop look somewhat arbirary – that’s unavoidable as one must cut the image somewhere. It's just a nice photo with decent quality and resolution. No "wow" effect at all, sorry. Also it's pretty noisy with strange compression artifacts (you can see it clearly in darker areas). Composition could be better by i.e. aligning ripple marks with frame diagonal. New category is much better, but from texture photography I expect exceptional quality.
