Ich habe zwei (kleine) Fragen:

• Da ich auf schlicht gestaltete Infoboxen mit optimaler Infodichte stehe, frage ich dich, ob es dir Recht ist, dass ich diese ({{DerHexer/licence}}), von dir gestaltete, Infobox verwende. Als Arbeitsgrundlage natürlich. Wäre nett...
• Deine neusten "Snooker German Masters"-Bilder sind wirklich gut gelungen. Offenbar hast du eine NIKON D90. Welches Objektiv hast du bei der Aufnahme dieser Bilderserie verwendet?

Die Bilder hätten schon vor Monaten hochgeladen werden sollen. Leider gab es viele andere Fotoprojekte, die mich gehindert haben. In einer Woche beginnt jedoch die nächste Auflage, sodass es langsam Zeit wurde … D90 ist richtig, als Objektiv habe ich mir das 70–200er f/2.8 bei Wikimedia Österreich ausgeliehen, dazu ein Einbeinstativ und einen 2x-Telekonverter. Trotzdem benötigen die Bilder noch einiges an Nacharbeitung, was ich nun getan habe. Danke für das Lob! Besides, the specific placement of the tag that appears to recur in your edits dumping the tag tight-next to each page's last category code, seems most likely unwanted - see my change here. Thanks. Law protects famous personalities as well, at least in Germany. Thus, a personality rights template is always appropriate for living people as Commons is an international project and any file can be reused in Germany as well. Further, my country has a post-mortem right of publicity but that's just appropriate in special cases. That is why I'm not tagging dead people. But ofc I can change the position of the template. I'm neither able nor do have enough time do that on my own (and most likely won't do that for long) but yes, in my opinion each file of a living person should have that template. Kannst du das vielleicht bei Gelegenheit sichten und auch einen Blick auf die Artikel in anderen Sprachen (hier und hier) werfen? Freigabe für Bilder

Hallo Hexer! Eine grundsätzliche Frage am Rande: Ist es eigentlich notwendig, dass wir für jede einzelne hochgeladene Datei eine OTRS-Freigabe erteilen? Oder kann man das auch irgendwie einfacher gestalten? Vielleicht in Form einer E-Mail an das Support-Team, die alle zukündigen Uploads umfasst und dann mit jedem Bild verbunden wird? --Verlagsgruppe Random House (talk) 14:18, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

In der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia wäre das deutlich einfacher, da dort Benutzerkonten ja verifiziert werden können. Damit wird quasi indirekt bestätigt, dass der Benutzer auch Dateien hochladen kann, für die er wahrscheinlich die nötigen Rechte hat. Auf Commons gibt es so etwas, soweit ich sehe, nicht. Ich werd mich aber mal erkundigen, wie in solch einem Falle am besten zu verfahren ist. Grüße, —DerHexer (Talk) 14:02, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Das habe ich auch schon überlegt, allerdings würde das Hochladen in der deutschen Wikipedia den Aufwand der Administratoren unnötig erhöhen, weil sie dann mehr Bilder manuell auf Commons verschieben müssten. Ein anderer Vorschlag: Können wir nicht trotzdem eine E-Mail an das Support-Team schicken, in der bestätigt wird, dass es sich bei diesem Konto um ein offizielles Benutzerkonto handelt? Auch wenn es die Verifizierung hier eigentlich nicht gibt, könnte man einen entsprechenden Hinweis auf das Ticket auf der Benutzerseite hinterlassen. --Verlagsgruppe Random House (talk) 14:12, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze

Hallo DerHexer,

in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.

Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Unter den Landeshauptstädten fehlt nur noch Stuttgart. Aber auch hier ist Licht in Sicht.

In der Mitte Deutschlands hat die Denkmallandschaft der thüringischen Landeshauptstadt Erfurt nun das Licht der Wikipedia-Welt entdeckt. Mehr als 50 Tabellen enthalten 3.700 Denkmale. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. August lädt herzlich ein, diese einzigartige Kulturlandschaft zu dokumentieren. Mehr Informationen findest Du auf der Projektseite.

Bilderanfrage

Ich habe hier noch ein paar fertige Bilder liegen, warte aber eigentlich auf Hilfe von Ireas, um meinen Lightroom-Upload zu berichtigen. Die Bilder wollte ich daher für die Tests verwenden. Leider habe ich von Ireas noch keine Antwort auf meine Bitte erhalten. --ST ○ 21:51, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Lindt-Goldhasen

Hallo Hexer, ich habe eine oder zwei Fragen, die ich schon im Forum stellte: Kürzlich wurden die beiden Bilder File:Lindt-Goldhasen (2008-04-12 a).JPG und File:Lindt-Goldhasen (2008-04-12 b).JPG gelöscht. Für mich wäre es interessant, einen nachvollziehbaren Grund für die Maßnahme zu erfahren. Denn wenn Gebrauchsmuterschutz der Anlass gewesen sein sollte, ist zu befürchten, dass demnächst alle Fotos von neueren Gebäuden, von Autos, Schiffen usw. aus den Commons und aus Wikipedia verschwinden. Ist das eventuell sogar schon beabsichtigt? Vor Längerem wunderte ich mich bereits, dass das Logo, das ich am Tank eines über 50 Jahre alten Motorrades fotografiert hatte, entfernt wurde, obwohl es andererseits noch unzählige andere Logos in Wikipedia-Artikeln gibt. Tja, das ist zurzeit leider eine Grauzone. Die Meinungen gehen auseinander, ob wir nun diverse Logos und vlt. noch mehr Alltagsgegenstände löschen müssen. Besonders, weil das Geburtstagszugurteil viel offen lässt, der Geburtstagszug selbst vom OLG gar nicht als schützenswert eingeschätzt wurde und der BGH nur eine allgemeine Aussage getroffen hat. Ich hatte mich an der Löschantragsaktion beteiligt, nachdem mein No-Name-Goldhase gelöscht wurde (QI nebenbei...), in der Hoffnung, daß sich daraus ein wenige Protest entwickeln würde. Ist nicht passiert. Die Löschpraxis auf commons ist von absoluter Willkür und vom Zufall geprägt. Bilder von eindeutig als Kunstwerk gedachten Gegenständen (die berühmte, schon vom Material her gebrauchsuntaugliche Zitronenpresse) werden behalten, Verkaufsverpackungen ohne nennenswerte erkennbare Originalität gelöscht. Ich habe mir für die nächste Zeit vorgenommen, auf alle meine eigenen Bilder, auf denen irgendein Warenzeichen, Firmenlogo oder sonstwas ähnliches erkennbar ist, LA zu stellen. Demonstrativ Löschanträge auf eigene Bilder zu stellen halte ich für keine gute Idee. Ich habe heute Nachmittag eine Anfrage an Lindt geschickt, ob sie Bedenken gegen die Veröffentlichung meiner Goldhasenbilder unter CC-Lizenz haben. Gegebenenfalls werde ich auch bei Volkswagen anfragen, ob ich weiterhin unsere beiden Golfs und andere VWs fotografieren und in die Commons hochladen darf. Danke für den Hinweis, wenn er auch nicht an mich gerichtet ist. Um die Goldhasen zum Beispiel mit irgendwelchen Löschfanatikern zu kämpfen, ist mir zu anstrengend. Mein Hase war aus dem Aldi. NoName halt, zwar ein winziges Schildchen dran, auf dem aber keine Marke ablesbar wer. Problem with global account, and previous contributions

@Nico: Hi! You should still be able to login to Nico-dk and continue your work using that account. But that does not really matter, as Stewards will be able to merge two or more global accounts as soon as they get an account merge tool which is expected to happen in late January 2015. Therefor, please also create a global account for Nico-dk. Once both accounts are unique global accounts (which might just happen in April 2015 when the SUL finalization will be completed and all global accounts unique ones), I (or one of my Steward fellows) can merge these upon your request. Nachfrage Globales Benutzerkonto

Hallo, auf deine gestrige Nachricht auf meiner Disk hin habe ich gerade die Prozedur für mein Benutzerkonto Jwaller absolviert. Für das Konto auf en.wikipedia konnte die Aktion allerdings nicht abgeschlossen werden und es wundert mich auch, daß da überhaupt ein Konto existiert, da ich auf Wikipedia unter JWaller (mit großem W) unterwegs bin. Das ist ein Resultat einer vermutlichen Panne bei meinem ersten Einloggen auf Wikipedia, das mir damals mit meinem Commons-Benutzernamen nicht gelang, daher die kleine Modifikation. Bei einer Zusammenführung der Konten müßten also die Konten mit beiden Schreibweisen (kleinem und großem W) zusammengeführt werden. Daher meine Frage: Wie ist jetzt die weitere Vorgehensweise? Für das Wikipedia-Konto mit großem W ebenfalls ein globales Benutzerkonto erstellen, analog zu deinen Erläuterungen für Nico etwas höher auf dieser Seite? @Jwaller: Das enwiki-Konto Jwaller konnte ich umbenennen, da es keine sichtbaren Bearbeitungen mehr hatte, damit ist Jwaller ein vollständiges globales Konto. Da auch JWaller ein eben solches Konto ist, kann es, sobald wir Stewards das Account-Merge-Tool benutzen können, was für Ende Januar 2015 erwartet wird, mit dem Jwaller-Konto zusammengeführt werden. Global account migration

Hi DerHexer! You contacted me about migrating to a global account, and of course I would be willing to merge all my accounts. The problem is that on the English Wikipedia I have used a different username ( en:User:Bicycle bell ) and that the username I use on the other wiki sites (Fietsbel, on Commons and on NL) is already taken by someone else on the English Wiki. Maybe that was actually me as well and I don't remember (after all, that account only did 1 edit which was way back in 2007). Unfortunately, I have tried some passwords I have used through the years and none of them work, and also the Forgot Password for that account does not drop me an email.

Could you help me with this situation? If this involves renaming some accounts I don't mind which username I end up with, whether that's Bicycle bell or Fietsbel. (It's the same thing after all ;-) )

Does it help if I already start with the merge between my Commons and NL accounts? Or would that actually make things more difficult...?

@Fietsbel: Please create a global account for Fietsbel first. Until April 2015, when SUL finalization will be finished, the enwiki Fietsel account will be usurped and your Fietsbel account will remain as a completed global account. @Zairon: Mit der einmaligen Eingabe deines Passwortes auf Special:MergeAccount werden alle gleichnamigen Benutzerkonten, die ebenfalls dieses Passwort hinterlegt haben, dem globalen Konto zugefügt. Dann genügt ein Login für alle Wikimedia-Projekte und der Name ist für dich definitiv gesichert, es kommt nicht mehr zu Benutzerkonten selben Namens, die von verschiedenen Personen betrieben werden und daher im Zuge der Vereinheitlichung jetzt umbenannt werden müssten. Weitere technische Funktionen werden für globale Konten ebenfalls ermöglicht, weswegen sukzessive alle Benutzerkonten jetzt in globale Konten umgewandelt werden. Meine Empfehlung ist da, dies lieber selbst zu erledigen, als dass dies bspw. durch die Wikimedia Foundation irgendwie geschieht. @Basili: Apologies for responding in English, but I'm able to read and understand French at least. Please first create a global account for Basili by submitting once your password on Special:MergeAccount. Then I can check whether your global account is already completed like your Basilou account. Once all your accounts are completed global ones, stewards could merge their names and edits upon their request as soon as the account merge tool will be available for us, that's expected to be late January/early February 2015. That merge action would combine all your edits done by multiple accounts with one global account, Basilou for example. Of course, you can still keep them separated if you prefer. @Joydeep: As far as I can see, you successfully created a global account for Joydeep. I've usurped some accounts with no visible edits. The two remaining ones will be automatically usurped during SUL finalization till April 2015 by the Wikimedia Foundation which will make your account a completed global one. Please also create a global account for your second active account. Once all your accounts are completed global ones, stewards could merge their names and edits upon their request as soon as the account merge tool will be available for us, that's expected to be late January/early February 2015. That merge action would combine all your edits done by multiple accounts with one global account, Joydeep for example. Of course, you can still keep them separated if you prefer. User:Verlagsgruppe Random House

Hi! Die dortige pauschale Entbindung von der Freigabepflicht kommt mir ungewöhnlich vor. Ist ein solches Vorgehen irgendwo in den Richtlinien festgelegt? Warum wird der Verlagsgruppe nicht stattdessen eine Ticketnummer gegeben, die sie in allen Freigabemails nutzen und selbst in die Bildbeschreibung einbinden könnten? So wären die Freigaben im Ticketsystem doumentiert, ohne dass ein OTRS-Mitarbeiter sich jedes Mal einzeln damit befassen muss. --Martina talk 16:12, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Auf der Benutzerseite stehen zwei Ticketnummern, die eine Verifizierung des Kontos darstellen. Das sollte meines Erachtens genügen, da die Freigaben immer korrekt waren. Selbst können sie die Ticketnummern nicht angeben bzw. haben dies einige Male schon versucht, da deren Angabe Benutzer der Gruppe OTRS member vorbehalten ist. Eine andere Lösung ohne die Bearbeitung von Dutzenden Tickets zu erzwingen angesichts der massiven Rückstände im OTRS sehe ich nicht, lasse mich aber gern überzeugen. Im Rahmen der Landtagsprojekte war die Einbindung eines OTRS-Bausteins (zu einem vorhandenen Ticket) ganz einfach machbar; auch bei WLM-Uploads im Auftrag von User.Huckety (Bot Stern... soundso von Raymond) ging das. Ich halte es für wichtig, dass Freigaben für jede Datei hinterlegt sind, dass diese auf der Bildbeschreibung ersichtlich sind, um wiederholte Nachfragen zu vermeiden, und auch, dass nicht ausgerechnet ein PR-Account solche (von wem erdachten?) Ich stelle es um, es steht auf meiner To-do-Liste und wird von dieser auch nicht einfach verschwinden. Aber es bedeutet für diese Aufgabe mehr Aufwand als so manch andere Aktivität. Wenn mir jemand bei der Vorlage hilft, wäre das schon mal ein Anfang. Per Skript würde ich dann über die bisher hochgeladenen Dateien drübergehen und danach per E-Mail Random House über das geänderte Verfahren informieren. The Catalan user Beethoven is very eager to keep that name, and I can accept that, if I can have Beethoven9 as my global account. So, when time comes, I would like to have Danish Beethoven merged into Beethoven9.

Danke für ein Lob, für dieses Jahr sind noch ein paar Hundert erst noch zu bearbeiten und hochzuladen (manche sogar heute erst beim Finale zu machen ;-)). @Hubertl: Man darf verblüffenderweise sogar Bilder anderer Fotografen vorschlagen und ist nicht darauf beschränkt, nur seine eigenen Ergüsse zu propagieren.

The local account was not attached to your global account and as it had no visible edits shown, it could be usurped according to the m:Usurpation policy. By visiting commonswiki with your global Jean-Jacques Georges account, a new local account will be automatically created which allows you to use it in any way wanted. If you insist on merging this account with the usurped account with only one deleted image, stewards will be able to do that once the account merge tool will be available (hopefully in March). Hi Lord of Wrath! My fellow Marcus Cyron and I got an accreditation for the complete world cup event in Altenberg. We are here since Thursday and will stay until Sunday. Meanwhile, we took some thousands pictures of all active athletes. Marcus already uploaded his Thursday results, I just those of the German press conference. More will follow soon of course, we will prepare new ones this afternoon and at least Marcus will upload some hundreds of them tonight. We also took picture of some coaches, I remember at least a great shot I took of Armin Zöggler. Afair, David Möller is also there, Georg Hackl did not show up yet. But for trainer it's harder to get portrait shots. We'll do our best. About: Global account

Hi DerHexer! This is referring to the discussion on my talk page. Now I've seem to have gotten a global account, but it's mixed up. Instead of usurp User:Vivo I've got a new Wikipedia account with this user name – which is pretty annoying, as I have to log in and out all the time while switching between the sites. What accounts need rename actions, and from where to where? What result(s) do you want to have? According to Special:CentralAuth/Vivo, the dewiki account will be renamed to Vivo~dewiki. Is that yours? Do you want to integrate it into your V-wolf account? Is the global Vivo accounts yours too? Do Vivo and V-wolf need to be merged at some point? I'm a bit confused now, sorry. V-wolf is my name here, and has always been – because Vivo was occupied. Vivo is my name on Wikipedia (though I have forgot the password on dewp, so I can skip that). However, now when I switch from Commons to Wikipedia I am V-wolf there too (even if I was logged in as Vivo), so I have to log out and log in as Vivo – and that means I get logged out from Commons instead. @V-wolf: Thanks for your explanation! The commonswiki Vivo account will be automatically usurped by the Wikmedia Foundation in mid-April and was already notified on this. Therefore and as this is not covered by the m:Usurpation policy, I would not usurp it now. I could delete your global Vivo account but I don't know how that will affect the global unification of this name. nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.

Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.

I am working on Commons:WLA and have an issue. I have moved the main page of WLAf2014 to Commons:Wiki Loves Africa 2014. But the translations in various languages are still "attached" to the original page Commons:Wiki Loves Africa. How to "move" the translations so that they stay with the original page ? Probleme mit der Kamera

Hallo Hexi,

kannst du mal kurz über meine Bilder in Category:Hans-Schuster-Hof (das erste ist von René) schauen und mir verraten, welchen Bockmist ich da angestellt habe? Die Bilder dieses Tages sind alle so "vergrieselt".

@WikiAnika: Das sieht nach hoher ISO aus, leider fehlt diese Angabe in den EXIF-Daten. Da die Verschusszeiten alle sehr, sehr gering sind (meist 1/4000s), könnte die Kamera im Modus „S“ gewesen sein, das heißt also eben diese Zeit festgesetzt sein, sodass die Kamera versucht, dies mit höherer Blendenzahl (zum Teil f/32!) sowie mglw. mit höherer ISO auszugleichen versucht. (BK) f/25 und 1/4000 spricht für exorbitant hohe Empfindlichkeit, was auch das Rauschen ("vergrieselt") erklärt. Dazu das Suppenhuhn als Objektiv. Da hat jemand vorher ganz im Dunklen fotografiert und die Empfindlichkeit nicht zurückgestellt. Die ISO steht meiner Meinung nach bei 3200 oder höher. Das ist bei solchen Motiven nicht nötig, das ist für schwarze Gemälde in Kellern ohne Stativ.... Seltsamerweise ist in den EXIF keine Empfindlichkeit angegeben. --Ralf Roleček 22:56, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

@Ralf Roleček: Danke. Ich lade die Bilder vom Sonntag und v.a. die aus dem Vorfeld (066 bis 090) in die Category:Images by WikiAnika on 2015-08-23. Den Schusterhof kann man zur Not auch noch einmal besuchen, die Denkmale auch. Zeitkritisch ist das Vorfeld, zumal da nach meinem Wissensstand nur eine Scheune versetzt werden soll, die Häuser werden wohl zeitnah dem Abrissbagger zum Opfer fallen... . Falls es helfen könnte: für diese Bilder gibt es Ausnahmsweise auch mal RAW(?)-Daten. Die könnte ich dir auch mit deiner Speicherkarte zusenden.

Komischer Nutzer

Moin moin, Hexer!

Mir ist eben durch die "Neuen Dateien" ein Nutzer aufgefallen, der mir komisch vorkommt. Ich schreib dich an, weil Du der einzige En-Admin bist, der mir gerade einfällt und EN-WP einzubeziehen ist. Hier seine globalen Beiträge: https://tools.wmflabs.org/guc/?user=Adriancabreja15. Er hat vor kurzem dieses Bild hochgeladen, was auch von ihm in einem (neuen) EN-Personenartikel ("Karima Boutaleb") eingebaut wurde (und wo ich mich frage, ob das nicht vielleicht eine URV sein könnte). Nach DE-Maßstäben ist das erstens ziemlich klar Werbung und sieht nach fehlender Relevanz aus, außerdem auch nach einem IK. Der Nutzer hat am meisten den Artikel "Oskar Abreu" bearbeitet; die im "Boutaleb"-Artikel angegebene Homepage handelt vom selben Mann. Ich kenne mich jetzt bloß nicht mit eventuell relevanten Cross-Wiki-Verfahren und den EN-Löschkriterien aus, da hoffe ich jetzt auf Tipps von dir... LG, Grand-Duc (talk) 01:08, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Uff, für Cross-Wiki seh ich bei den wenigen Bearbeitungen noch keine Notwendigkeit. Ein Interessenkonflikt kann gut möglich sein, solange der Artikel jedoch handwerklich in Ordnung ist, sollte das weniger das Problem sein (klar, da muss noch was gemacht werden). Moin Martin, kannst Du als Übersetzungs-Admin bitte mal {{Prospective category}} entsprechend "aktivieren"? Ich hab von dem formalen Übersetzungsmechanismusgeraffel keine Ahnung. Dieses von Sebastian angelegte Template ist ähnlich wie {{Empty category}} gedacht und soll temporär Kategorien vor dem Gelöschtwerden schützen, die im Vorfeld von Aktionen wie z. B. Bitte um Admin-Hilfe für Datei-Bereinigung

Hallo Hexer, ich brauche Admin-Hilfe, und Du bist ein Zufallsopfer ;-)

Am Anfang stand die erste Datei in der Gallery: Eine interessante Karte, aber mit unzureichender Auflösung.

Es folgten drei Versuche des Kollegen User:Pemu, die Datei in höheren Auflösungen hochzuladen, mit dem Ergebnis, dass jeweils reihenweise andere Kacheln fehlten (graue Bereiche in den Karten).

Inzwischen konnte ich die komplette Karte ohne fehlende Kacheln in bester Auflösung hochladen (Datei File:Bb27998410 1.jpg). Das macht alle bisherigen Karten obsolet, einschließlich eines Crops (vorletzte Karte). Wegen des passenden Dateinamens bitte ich Dich, die letzte Karte auf die erste zu verschieben, und die übrigen Karten zu löschen. Aus der verbleibenden Karte werde ich einen neuen Crop erstellen, wie benötigt, sobald die Aktion hier abgeschlossen ist. Besten Dank,--Ratzer (talk) 19:47, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

Alwin Mittasch

Hallo DerHexer, ich habe ei Bild von Alwin Mittasch hochgeladen, offensichtlich mit der falschen Lizenz. Das Bild File:Alwin Mittasch 1902.jpg stammt aus den "Nachrichten aus der Chemie" und ist von 1902. Es wäre zwar schön, wenn eine Möglichkeit gäbe, das Bild zu behalten, wenn nicht, muss es eben gelöscht werden. Nachholtermin 17. Fotoworkshop

Im Gedenken an Gnu

Moin von der Küste,
es ist schon so viele Jahre her, dass wir uns in Nürnberg getroffen haben, wir (Ailura und ich) planten deshalb einen Fotoworkshop im Frühjahr 2019. Als wir erfuhren, dass Sebastian ebenfalls in Frühjahr ein BarCamp plant, entschlossen wir uns, zusammen zu arbeiten. Wir gliedern uns organisatorisch an diesem BarCamp an, sprich sind im gleichen Hotel, essen gemeinsam und nutzen ein Raum des Camps für unsere Fotovorträge, ähnlich wie auf der WikiCon 2011 in Nürnberg.
Wie Ihr vielleicht mitbekommen habt, ist Gnu zu seiner letzten Wanderung aufgebrochen, daher möchten auch wir seiner Gedenken.
Die weiteren Tage wollen wir gemeinsam ein Programm aus Fototouren und Vorträgen zusammenstellen, es ist noch viel Luft für Eure Ideen und Vorträge. Den geplanten ausführlichen LR Workshop wird zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt im Frühsommer ( WMDE gibt den Ort vor) stattfinden, da dieser sehr weit in die Tiefe gehen soll. Ich würde mich freuen, Euch in Nürnberg begrüßen zu können, wundere Dich nicht über meine Nachricht auch wenn Du lange nichts mehr editiert hast, ich habe Deinen Namen aus den letzten FWS kopiert. ;)

Erstes Fotoprojekt

Hallo DerHexer, ich habe erstmals ein Fotoprojekt begonnen und dafür eine Fotogenehmigung von einer Landeskulturstiftung erhalten (500 Jahre alte Skulpturen). Das erste Beispiel findest du hier. Auf mehreren Seiten habe ich mich nach der sinnvollsten Lizenz erkundigt und unterschiedliche Antworten erhalten. cc-by-sa-3.0 vs. cc-by-sa-4.0 – was ist sinnvoll? Außerdem ist es mir nicht gelungen, meinen bürgerlichen Namen in der Lizenz unterzubringen, so wie es z.B. dort gemacht wurde. Wie hat Nutzer Carschten das softwareseitig gemacht; ich habe es im Quelltext leider nicht erkennen können? Irgendwie geht es mit dem Parameter |1=, klappt aber nicht. Dich habe ich zufällig gefunden, als ich nach Fotografenseiten mit aktuellen Diskussionen gesucht habe. Danke schon mal. --LGvProtesus (talk) 10:09, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Die 4.0er Version hat eine Heilungsklausel bei unbeabsichtigt falscher Lizenzierung, die es in der 3.0er nicht gab, zudem wir der Datenbankschutz erstmals geregelt; ein paar weitere Änderungen sind bspw. hier beschrieben. Für die Namensnennung scheinst du die Lösung mit author= schon gefunden zu haben. Einfach dahinter angeben, wie du genannt werden willst. Der Übersetzungsadministrator bitte einmal :)

Die Seite "Hilfe" ist ja denke ich eine vielbesuchte und wichtige Seite. Deshalb ist diese Seite auch gegen Übersetzungsvandalismus geschützt. Das ist aber in dem Moment kontraproduktiv, wo die deutsche Übersetzung seit November 2014 hinter dem englischen Original hinterherhinkt. Bugzilla gibt es seit 2014 nicht mehr, trotzdem verweist die deutsche Übersetzung noch immer darauf. Ich denke das haben schon mehrere gemerkt, aber ich bin wohl der erste, der sich die Mühe macht, diesen Text hier zu schreiben. Könntest du das vielleicht abändern, bzw. die Übersetzung auf den neuesten Stand bringen? Eine generelle Frage, da es möäglicherweise ein strukturelles Problem ist: Gibt es Bedarf an Übersetzungsadmins weil die aus der Liste alle inaktiv sind? Gruß --Keks by 20:16, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

@Der Keks: Hallo! Danke für deine Anfrage. Die Seite ist, soweit ich das sehe, nicht vor Veränderungen geschützt. Sie ist eine klassische übersetzbare Seite, deren Ausgangssprache Englisch ist. An die Übersetzungen kommt man heran, indem man in „This page is a translated version of a page Help:Contents and the translation is 96% complete.“/“Diese Seite ist eine übersetzte Version der Seite Help:Contents und die Übersetzung ist zu 96 % abgeschlossen und aktuell.” auf die kursiv gesetzten Wörter klickt. Das führt mich dann hierher, wo ich zumindest Texte verändern kann. Diese müssen noch von Translation administrators freigegeben werden. Wie der aktuelle Bedarf auf commonswiki ist, weiß ich nicht genau. Unterstützung wird sicherlich gesucht. … Lustigerweise habe ich genau gestern auf der WikiCon zum Thema Übersetzung auch einen Vortrag gehalten. @Rillke: Ich habe absolut keine Ahnung, was das ist und wo es herkommt. Ich habe Bilder mit WMDE-Technik (Canon 5D Mark III) erstellt und mit IrfanView bearbeitet. Upload über VicuñaUploader. Die EXIF scheinen sauber zu sein, ich kann da keine "Benutzerkommentare" entdecken, also auch keine löschen. Im Hex-Editor findet man das aber in der Datei. Sehr komisch. @Smial: hast du eine Idee? --Ralf Roletschek 19:31, 27 October 2019 (UTC) Es sind genau 16 mal 16 Byte.

Laut https://tools.wmflabs.org/guc/ hat dieser Benutzername keinen einzigen edit (wäre also frei). Moin DerHexer, letzte Nacht hat es ja wieder eine Attacke gegen dich (auf meiner Disku) gegeben, die Kollege Srittau bereits beseitigt hat. In diesem Zusammenhang wollte ich dich als Steward aber mal fragen, ob wir zumindest Konten, deren Name bereits einen PA darstellt und die ja auch klar gegen die ToU verstoßen, nach ihrer Aufdeckung und Sperre nicht zumindest "verstecken" können, so dass der Kontoname nirgends mehr offen erscheint. @Túrelio: Oversighter können solche Benutzernamen lokal auch vor Admins verstecken (Policy; Special:ListGroupRights s. v. „hideuser“), Stewards können dies sogar global (Link). Anfrage für Umbenennung

Hallo DerHexer,
ich frage Dich an, ob Du mir beim Umbenennen einer Datei helfen kannst. Die Datei File:Henry Cuyler Bunner.jpg müsste in File:Henry Cuyler Bunner.xcf umbenannt werden. Da sie vor langer Zeit in der umgekehrten Richtung umbenannt wurde - damals unterstützte die Wikimedia-Software noch keine XCF-Dateien - existiert unter dem alten Dateinamen eine Weiterleitung. Diese verhindert jetzt, dass die Datei zurück verschoben wird.

@E4024: I agree that this is probably the best photo of her taken at the match. But I don't think that a crop would really make sense here, you will always see parts of her teammate. The CropTool is easy to use, in my opinion. You can find the help page here: Just go to https://tools.wmflabs.org/croptool/ and copy the name of the image. The rest should be self-explanatory. • I’d like to invite you to our group’s second Virtual Meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2020. As last time, this meeting will serve as an opportunity to get to know each other better, share learnings, and connect in times of the global COVID-19 pandemic. • Also, I'd like to start a conversation about how we should be sharing responsibility for the user group going forward. I'd love to get some help when it comes to organizing things and I'm convinced that we can achieve more if a couple of people helped with coordinating stuff.
• Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has asked me to spread the word about their latest survey: Universal Code of Conduct Survey. The goal is to create a safer environment on Wikimedia projects and the Foundation gathers feedback prior to coming up with a first draft.

Next Commons Photographers meeting featuring large format photographer Ben Horne

Just like with other categories in this field (biathletes, curlers, etc.), I first create them and then add the photos which are already uploaded: Category:Ice hockey at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. Photo in Recoleta Cemetery Commons Category should be moved to more appropriate category

Hallo Martin kannst du mir helfen, wenn nicht dann leite das an die entsprechende Person weiter: ich habe mich von der Wikipedia verabschiedet. Das Problem ist wenn ich mich dort anmelde, muss ich mich hier wieder einloggen und gleichzeitig wieder auf Wikipedia eingeloggt (was ich aber umgehen will). @Ricardalovesmonuments: Seit 2008 gibt es diese Form der globalen Konten, die eben nicht lokal voneinander getrennt werden können. Es gäbe ein paar Hacks, mit denen man kurzfristig eine Trennung herbeiführen könnte (die aber laut Wikimedia Foundation nicht verwendet werden sollen), aber nach einiger Zeit würde genau dasselbe wieder auftauchen. Ich verstehe noch nicht so ganz das Problem mit dem Eingeloggtsein in Wikipedia: Man muss ja nichts editieren usw. Gibt es da etwas, das dich besonders stört? Entgegenkommende Löschung wegen dem Fehler eines Fotografen?

Hallo lieber Hexer,

ich habe (glücklicherweise) folgende Passage in dem Beitrag zu Löschungen gefunden:

"Entgegenkommende Löschungen Auch wenn es nicht aus rechtlichen oder anderen Gründen erforderlich ist, kann Commons sich manchmal dazu entschließen, Bilder zu löschen, zum Beispiel als Geste des guten Willens gegenüber einem Fotografen, der einen Fehler gemacht hat. Für vorgeschlagene Richtlinien, siehe Commons:Courtesy deletions."

Wäre es möglich alle meine schwarz-weiß Bilder oder wenigstens bestimmte, für mich wichtige Bilder unter einer Entgegenkommenden Löschung löschen zu lassen? Ich habe 2016 nicht gewusst, dass ich meine Bilder damit jedem (!) zur kommerziellen Nutzung frei zur Verfügung stelle, leider, leider , leider! Ich habe seit dem verhältnismäßig wenig Geld mit meinen eigenen Fotos verdient, aber andere und vor allem große, finanzstarke Unternehmen (Zeitungen, Verlage etc.) leider sehr viel und das macht mich als Künstler einfach traurig, ehrlich gesagt...

Damals (2016) habe ich einfach nur einen Beitrag zu diesem tollen Projekt leisten wollen und wusste nicht, welche Lizenz ich genau wählen muss, damit es nicht kommerziell genutzt werden darf, auch da es hier leider alles andere als intuitiv oder nutzerfreundlich gestaltet ist und schwer zu überblicken war. Ich finde mich (auch aufgrund meines Alters) so schon nicht immer so gut zurecht auf Seiten die weitaus übersichtlicher und einfacher zu verstehen sind als diese, hier war ich einfach überfordert, aber wollte trotzdem meinen Beitrag leisten!

Es war ein Fehler damals nicht die Lizenzen und die terms genau gelesen zu haben, ja das steht außer Frage. Aber die Entgegenkommende Löschung ist ja genau für solche Fälle vorhergesehen und zwar "als Geste des guten Willens gegenüber einem Fotografen, der einen Fehler gemacht hat". Genau das ist der Fall bei mir und aus Fehlern lernt man!

Ich wäre euch wirklich sehr dankbar und verbunden und würde mich sehr über ein Entgegenkommen eurer Seite freuen!

@Gerddanigel: Vielen Dank für deine Nachricht und die Erläuterung der Situation. Leider fürchte ich, dass diese Form von Irrtum bei Courtesy deletions nicht gemeint ist. Hier ist eher Persönlichkeitsrechtliches gemeint. Die Lizenztexte der gewählten CC-Lizenzen sind ziemlich eindeutig, auch darin, dass man sie nicht widerrufen kann. Letztlich kann man wohl nur noch freiere Lizenzen ergänzen. Grundsätzlich hast du das Recht, falsch nachgenutzte Bilder abzumahnen. Sofern die Bilder korrekt genutzt werden, fürchte ich, dass es wenig Möglichkeiten für mich gibt, hier etwas zu ändern. Tut mir leid. Grüße, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:18, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Crosswiki vandalism

Hello, could you take a look at Special:CentralAuth/Ryan_Rees56? It's the newest incarnation of Sockpuppets of Mike3Matthews17. Is there any way to stop the crosswiki vandalism using your Steward/CUA-rights (perhaps block his IP-Range?)

It would be helpful, if all uploaded pictures by his sockpuppet got deleted quickly, as they are copyvios from (apparently random?) Facebook & Instagram pages. Commons:Deletion requests/File:NicolaField2018.jpg was deleted within hours, but Commons:Deletion requests/File:EmmaAlbrighton2021.jpg is still not done, even though I linked it in the other deletion request and two other pictures uploaded by the same socketpuppet as the Albrighton picture got speedy deleted. [3][4].

Commons:Deletion requests/File:ElliePoulakis2020.jpg is open as well, clearly copyvio from Instagram.

Today the new sockpuppet uploaded these three pictures [5][6][7]. Do I need to spend time looking on facebook for the originals or can they just be speedy deleted?

Hi, I've seen this thread has expanded once again and looked carefully as to where these "photos" were likely to have come from. @Achim55, Racconish, Taivo, Elcobbola, and Johannnes89: , is it a good idea to inform these people on social media to hide their photos from the public point of view? I'd imagine the vandal is probably stealing photos that are currently visible to everyone though I have no knowledge on the photos uploaded today because Taivo has already deleted them way before I logged in. Oh yes, good point.

this photo was definately one of many that the sockpuppet uploaded as I provided the source as to where it come from. There may well be more public photos from this account which might have been uploaded on Commons, by clicking on the arrows, you may or may not recognise they were uploaded on Commons. Taivo identifies some photos from Facebook and has therefore removed them with the reason "source - Facebook". This sockpuppet today "claims" this to be it's own work (see here). What you said Johannnes89 may be true though only the vandal knows where the photos came from. So I'm guessing more uploading of "random" people who may have the same names are on the way unless what Ben Lexington47 says is true, see their talk page. I had an email from what appears to be the vandal, in fact, Mike6Matthews17, saying all the details as to where these photos have come from. Johannnes89 may have already got it as well as the email mentioned that user's name as well as mine and another user who is not mentioned on this section. However, I have copied it and sent it to Johannnes89 in case the vandal may not have been able to send it to the user that way. Two copies is better than none.

Quantity of group

Yes, there are 2 mean and 2 women (counted) on that photo but not 2 men with 2 women (grouped in pairs). There is a semantic difference between “and” and “with”. If true, that would be a fair point, and we may have to revisit the use of 'and' and 'with'. Can you provide some citations for this semantic difference being universal, or what parameters should be applied to its application? It sounds like the issue here is in the category name, not the contents. In such a case, the remedy is to change the category name/description, not to remove files from the category. The reason is that when the category name is 'fixed', the removed files remain 'lost' to the category. Since the content of Category:2 men with 2 women should be all images with 2 men and 2 women in the subject group, regardless of sub-grouping, the file in question still belongs there. Isn't it logical?

• I see one man and two women standing there, and wait, another man comes along, standing a bit apart. If I am required to count them, I first count the men 1+1=2 and then the 1+1=2 women, therefore 2 men and 2 women.
• I see one man with two women standing there, and wait, another man comes along, standing a bit apart. I identically count them but I would not say that there are two men with two women because the correct description would be one men with two women and another man.

and is a conjunction and with a preposition. The latter indicates companion, the former one does not. Certainly, there are various scenarios where this does not matter much. But on the given photo I cannot see 2 men with 2 women (a man-only sports double and a woman-only sports double) but a mixed-double of 2 men and 2 women.

This is discussed at various places and seems to be simple grammar to me (I'm not a native English speaker but I've studied lingustics of other Indoeuropean languages). I've searched for grammar sources but this does not seem to be discussed pretty often (maybe it's too obvious). But I think that Brendan S. Gillon: Towards a Common Semantics for English Count and Mass Nouns In: Linguistics and Philosophy , Dec., 1992, Vol. 15, No. 6 (Dec., 1992), pp. 597-639 (JSTOR; can be accessed through m:TWL), here: 614sqq. discusses it under the topic The collectivity and distributivity of collective and distributive readings. @Sebastian Wallroth: Hallo Sebastian! Entschuldige bitte die späte Rückmeldung. Leider funktionieren ja viele Uploadtools aktuell nicht richtig. Ich habe deine Frage auf Facebook ebenfalls gesehen. Mir fällt leider nicht so viel anderes ein, als bspw. über Help:VisualFileChange.js all diese Dateien zu löschen (bspw. über ein temporäre Wartungskategorie) und die Dateien neu hochzuladen. Sollte es wegen desselben Namens nicht gehen, einen anderen wählen und dann über importScript('User:Legoktm/massrename.js'); oder importScript('User:Perhelion/massrename.js'); zu verschieben. Sollte es Probleme geben wegen schon einmal ähnlich auf dem Server gecachter Fotos (gibt's tw. bei VicuñaUpload), würd ich nochmal ins Grübeln gehen, wie man das vllt. umgehen könnte. How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. Sound Logo

Hello,

I am messaging you because a contest for a sound logo for Wikimedia is being developed and your opinion as a Wikimedia Commons admin is appreciated. My team would like to know if it is possible for the top finalist sound logos in the contest to have attribution temporarily hidden from public view until all the votes are final? Bilder aus den Wikimedia Commons in die deutsche Wikipedia verschieben

Lieber Hexer, wir kennen uns flüchtig, von mehreren Treffen der Berliner Wikipedianer/innen. Ich habe heute folgendes Anliegen an Dich: Ich haben mehrere von mir aufgenommene Fotos des interdisziplinären Kulturzentrumas LUMA in Arles, Frankreich, in die Wikimedia Commons hochgeladen, wurde aber von Wikipedia-Kolleg/innen darauf hingewiesen, dass ich das gar nicht darf, da es in Frankreich offenbar – anders als in Deutschland – keine Panoramafreiheit gibt, so dass man Fotos architektonischer Werke wohl nur mit dem Einverständnis des Architekten (oder der Architektin) unter Creative Commons-Lizenz stellen dürfte, in diesem Fall also mit dem Einverständnis von Frank O. Gehry. Das war mir neu. Könnte aber ein tolles Geschäftsmodell etwa für den Architekten des Eiffelturms sein. Auch eine Refinanzierung der Baukosten der ägyptischen Cheops-Pyramide durch Einzug von Tantiemen von allen, die die Pyramide jemals fotografiert haben, erscheint möglich... Ich habe das Gefühl, das Urheberrecht und ich, wir werden keine guten Freunde werden; unsere Beziehung ist eher kompliziert zu nennen. ;-) Um nun aber Ärger zu vermeiden, sollen meine betreffenden Fotos aus den Wikimedia Commons in die deutsche Wikipedia verschoben werden. Und darum möchte ich Dich bitten. Es handelt sich um die folgenden vier Bilder:

@MYR67: Bitte entschuldige die späte Rückmeldung. Ich hatte mich zwecks eines Tools für das Verschieben von Fotos in die seltenere Richtung (Commons -> Wikipedia) direkt nach deiner Anfrage erkundigt, aber leider wohl vergessen, dir eine Nachricht dazu zu schreiben. Bedauerlicherweise scheint es tatsächlich so zu sein, dass es kein derartiges Tool gibt. Es bleibt wohl nichts anderes übrig, als die Fotos herunterzuladen und später in der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia neu hochzuladen. Es dürfte jedoch nicht unter direkt diesem Titel möglich sein (solange es noch ein Foto auf Commons gibt). Gern kann ich aber die Fotos hier löschen, sobald du sie heruntergeladen hast. Create three pages on Boarisch Wikipedia

Hi @DerHexer Since you are from Germany and you may know Boarisch (Bavarian language) can you create three pages for these three car manufacturers there:

• Ford (as there is a page for Ford Fiesta model and not for the main car manufacturer)
• Toyota (as this car manufacturer is related to BMW which cooperate now together and is the world's most sold car manufacturer)
• Volkswagen (as this car manufacturer is missing on Bavarian Wikipedia. There are Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Opel)

Question from the CPUG Board

Dear user group member,

I'm writing you to today on behalf of the board of the Commons Photographers User Group. The past year has been a busy one for us. In 2022, we've had more activities than ever before in the history of our group and you'll find an overview on our group's page.

With that being said, 2022 was also a year of learning for the current board members. Most of us hadn't been involved in running the Photographers User Group and we spent quite some time on getting used to our new roles. We all feel it was a steep learning curve.

That's why, at our last board meeting, we decided to ask our members whether they'd be ok with us serving for another year. Extending our board duties to the end of 2023 would allow us to continue the work we've started this year, and to benefit from the knowledge we've built over the past twelve months.

However, in the end, it's up to you and the other members of our group to decide whether such an extension of our board term should be granted. I invite you to voice your opinion on this page:

OTRS-Freigabe

Hi, ich weiß nicht, ob du mir hier weiterhelfen kannst. Es geht um die Datei File:Ernst Jacobi by Stuart Mentiply.jpg, die Mentiply eigentlich (Anfang?) November 2022 freigegeben haben müsste. Ich lade die Bilder immer hoch und schicke den Freigabetext dann direkt im Anschluss an die Fotografen, um deren Fotos es geht. Abgestimmt hatte ich mit ihm natürlich alles im Vorfeld. Es ist derzeit (noch) kein entsprechendes Ticket beim Foto vermerkt. Er würde gerne weitere Bilder spenden, aber ich zögere da noch, solange dieser eine Vorgang nicht abgeschlossen ist. Hi. User:Orijentolog, At first, he edited a page of his own accord, and there was no evidence to change the name of that page. In the following, he has linked me to another user without any evidence and has started an editing war two hours ago. He far from complying with the law, he edits my page. Dear member of the Commons Photographers User Group,

in preparation of the 2023 board election of our group, we invite you to take a look at the following page:

The timeline for the 2023 election will be

• September 15 – September 30: Applications for the election committee
• October 1 – October 9: Vote for election committee (ideally comprised of three members)
• October 10: Election committee starts work
• October 20 – November 9: Nomination phase for candidacies
• November 10 – December 10: Elections
• December 15: Results announced

In the first step we ask you to be part of the election committe. Please add your name on the Election Page.

Flickypedia soft launch and a huge thank you

Dear fellow Commons photographer,

I hope this message finds you well. As you might already know, the Flickr Foundation has been busy creating a new Flickr-to-Commons bridge (“Flickypedia”) this year. After a successful demo at the GLAM Wiki Conference in Montevideo, the Flickr Foundation team is now inviting all members of the Commons Photographers User Group to be the first to review their alpha, reporting any technical issues or other feedback via the Flickypedia project talk page.

At the same time, this message is an opportunity for me to thank you for your trust and support over the past couple of years. Since 2017, we've grown into being one of the largest user groups in the Wikimedia universe. I've tremendously enjoyed interacting with all of our members when it came to joint photowalks at Wikimanias, virtual Zoom meetings where we covered a wide variety of photography topics, as well as our annual “Most memorable shot of the year”, among many other events. As I'm not running for an official position in our current board election, this will be my last message on behalf of the user group to you. Thanks for all the happy moments we shared together over the years! I hope you'll continue creating free images for the millions of people we serve through Wikipedia and Commons.
