First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Per le foto caricate con l'autorizzazione dell'autore, tutto corretto quello che dici, salvo che, niente di personale, la regola è che non sono ammesse autorizzazioni indirette. Ovverosia non si possono caricare foto su cui altri hanno diritti salvo che i titolari inviano l'autorizzazione direttamente come spiegato qui it:WP:OTRS o Com:OTRS. Quindi grazie per la foto, mi spiace, sono convinto della tua buona fede, ma purtroppo per difenderci dai furbi dobbiamo fare così e le regole sono uguali per tutti. Se il tuo amico da l'autorizzazione possiamo trasferire su Commons anche le foto caricate su Wikipedia e renderle disponibili a tutti. Oppure gli chiedi di caricarle lui con un suo account dichiarando che sono sue. Se hai dubbi scrivimi qua o su Wikipedia. Il copyright è una materia complessa. è scaduto come dici tu in Italia. Qui si applica sia la legge americana sia quella italiana. Se vuoi farti venire mal di testa leggi Commons:URAA altrimenti accontentati della risposta breve, siccome hai scritto fine anni 70 per me è in pubblico dominio da dopo il 1996. Ecco se fosse senza copyright da prima del 1996 potrebbe stare qua. Tutto qua. Per questo non l'ho cancellata su it wikipedia, lì si applica la legge italiana. Quindi se sai le date delle altre foto che hai caricate scrivile per favore perchè poi passerò a controllare. Mi ero dimenticato di avvisarti. Se hai dubbi scrivimi. Allora mi ripeto, quando non si conoscono le regole non bisogna insistere. Se la foto è del 1979 è entrata in pubblico dominio nel 1999 e quindi può stare su Wikpedia ma non si può copiare su Commons a causa del URUGUAY Uruguay agreement act perchè è entrata in pubblico dominio dopo il 1996.--Pierpao.lo (listening) 21:43, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sempre in quella pagina è scritto "se il progetto ha una linea guida sul fair use" e Commons la ha: "il fair use è vietato" qui, sempre. COM:Fair use. Che sia applicabile o meno l'URAA. Per gli edifici è scritto male; parla degli edifici negli USA. Infatti nel 1990 è passato il Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act. Ciao, lì si parla solo del software, non riesco a trovare riferimenti espliciti alle cartine, se li hai notati tu potresti indicarmeli? In ogni caso la cc-by-nc-nd non è accettabile per questo tipo di immagini: può essere usata solo ed esclusivamente per immagini per le quali non può esistere un'alternativa "più libera", per esempio il quadro di un pittore contemporaneo la cui foto venga pubblicata sotto tale licenza dal pittore stesso. --Vituzzu (talk) 18:55, 28 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Libertà di Panorama[edit]

Sarà anche surreale ma è la legge. COM:FOP#Italy. Poi nessuno impedisce di fotografarla; è l'uso commerciale che è vietato. Neanche a me piace ma è così. Protesta col legislatore. Poi magari lo scultore l'ha regalata alla cittadinanza e proprio per questo non gli fa piacere se mettono la sua immagine (della stauta) sull'etichetta di un prodotto locale per pubblicizzarlo o ne fanno cartoline senza pagarlo. Per te è naturale metterla su Commons. Magari per lui è naturale che se la godano solo i suoi cittadini. In buona sostanza, forse la legge fa schifo ma magari se non c'era questa legge l'autore non la donava. In ogni caso puoi sempre chiedere al sindaco che se vuole promuovere la statua che giri all'autore il consiglio di inviare l'autorizzazione a commons:otrs.
