Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Source: You say, that the images are showing Ente del Transporte de Rosario, they are from Ente del Transporte de Rosario, the author is Ente del Transporte de Rosario, and the permission is from Ente del Transporte de Rosario. A very bad description and a real mess. Sorry. So: Who is the creator and where is this permission?? A permission must inlude, that everyone can use the images for commercial purposes. Is this given? Did you take the images from a website without permission?

Te traduzco el problema: vos subiste fotos del sitio busesrosarinos que en su pie de página dice que las fotos se pueden usar sin fines comerciales, lo cual no es compatible con las políticas de commons. Entonces si querés salvar algunas fotos tenés que decirnos cuales son tuyas pero no deben estar en aquél sitio. Si vos pertenecés al grupo ese de busesrosarinos no lo sabemos, por eso hay que demostrar todo. La otra posibilidad es que se autoricen por el proceso especial conocido como OTRS, pero debe quedar en claro que si son autorizadas, las fotos que se subieron y las que se suban a futuro podrán tener valor comercial lo que volverá inutil el aviso ese del pie de página ¿ta?. Y aunque el sitio dijera que es de libre uso comercial y todo eso, al final las fotos las tenés que arreglar todas porque dicen que son tuyas. Hay 5 tipos distintos de cámaras en las fotos que subiste. Hay fotos de pobrísima calidad sin metadatos de cámara usada. Hola andres, tanto tiempo paso que no hablo, mira; 1: hay que eliminar esa imagen que claramente tiene viola derechos de autor (y eso que ya no subo esa clase de imagenes, a menos de que tenga licencia commons, etc), y 2: Ya tengo material nuevo propio que subire cuando pueda.

Bueno, de paso te informo que me converti en patrullero en wikipedia. Además ya estoy entendiendo eto del grupo wikimedia. Revertí ediciones vandalicas, tuve que avisar a los usuarios que sus paginas (no las de usuario) que se tenían que eliminar.
