File:Carpeaux_-_Ugolino_And_His_Sons.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Also some other photos of 3D Artwork, I refer to Commons:Image_casebook#3D art (sculptures etc.):
- If the 3D artwork is old enough to be in the public domain, you may upload a photograph you have taken yourself. If the photograph was taken by somebody else, you need the photographer’s permission, since the photograph is copyright-protected, despite depicting art that is not.
You not indicated any photgraphers and no licenses for the photographic work, presumably its from the musums websites and not free. --Martin H. (talk) 22:47, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Important notice
[edit]I had to delete all 3-dimensional photos that you probably took from the Dallas Museum of Art website, since taking them without special permission is illegal. Only photographs of two-dimensional Public DOmain works (paintings, drawings etc.) are considered to be in the Public Domain as well. Please also consider when uploading:
- Add a category of the year of painting, e. g. Category:1888 paintings
- Use Creator templates in the author field, e. g. {{Creator:Paul Signac}}}
- Give the real source: "Dallas Museum of Art" is _not_ enough. No one knows who the picture is by then: is it yours, taken in the Museum? Is it from a catalogue? Or from the website? I guess they are all from the website, hence add the URL http://dallasmuseumofart.org to your uploads.
- Do not use categories like Category:Art or Category:Swiss painters, but rather use more specific categories (e. g. for motives Category:Laundry in art or painters Category:Ferdinand Hodler or techniques Category:Chromolithographs)
Thanks in advance --AndreasPraefcke (talk) 14:34, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
