Pre-2001 legislative framework[edit]

Until 2001, Maltese copyright legislation was included in Chapter 196 of the Laws of Malta, which set a copyright expiration 25 years after the death of the author. In 2000, this was raised to 70 years (current Chapter 415 of the Laws of Malta). This means that the work of authors who died before 1976 is also in public domain. I am trying to retrieve the text of Chapter 196 (does not seem to be easily available online). We should amend the templates accordingly. --Dans (talk) 19:39, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
