Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.

To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.

Posicion animales[edit]

Hola, efectivamente por defecto no solo aguilas sino cualquier figura animal mira hacia la izquierda del observador, o dicho en el lenguaje heraldico, a diestra. Otra cosa se especifica con el adjetivo retornado, contornado,etc. No obstante he estado mirando el armorial de Piferrer de 1870 y pico creo, y pinta el aguila retornada en Aguilar de Campoo. Banderas[edit]

Pues estaré al tanto, por ahora no logro descubrir la causa. Sí que he visto en algún caso, ya alguien lo había comentado, que si un objeto queda visible a medias (entre el espacio de trabajo y exterior a este), pues no funciona su representación en Wikipedia. Sin embargo, hay casos en los que solucionando esto no se soluciona. Para las banderas vizcaínas, al final del Atlas correspondiente hay un vínculo a la web de la Diputación, debes acceder e "iniciar sesión" clicando al botón correspondiente. Una vez hecho, reaccede a la página con el vínculo original. Ahí encontrarás PDFs de cada municipio, con info de los escudos y si tienen, también info sobre las banderas. Pero la documentación es antigua de hace algunos años, y si algunos municipios han registrado posteriormente sus enseñas, ahí no estarán. En tal caso, puedes probar con el buscador del BOP de Vizcaya, aunque su buscador no es muy cómodo. Saludos! --HansenBCN (talk) 13:44, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Castrillo[edit]

El tema es de ortografía. Si al final de la descripción del segundo cuartel viene bordura con mayuscula es que se refiere a todo el escudo. Si se refiere al segundo, debe ir en minusculas precedida de punto y coma o coma. Revisa entonces lo que has puesto como descripcion. Aclarado, ya lo arreglo yo. Por otra parte, preguntas que sentido tiene separar dos campos de igual color. La razón es que en heráldica cada campo es representativo y por tanto, no se puede hace ninguna fusión: pongamos que unimos en un partido las armas de castilla (castillo de oro en campo de gules) con las de navarra (cadenas de oro en campo de gules)...el resultado NO es un escudo en campo de gules, con una cadena de oro a diestra acostada de un castillo de lo mismo a siniestra. Sobre tu "lio", chico, lo siento pero yo como los otros compañeros, tampoco entiendo tu problema y lo que es más inquietante, has usado la plantilla de borrado de manera un poco irresponsable. imagenes duplicadas[edit]

Por las imagenes duplicadas, puedes poner {{duplicate|Image:otraimagen}} en la que quieres borrar. Es mas rapido y no es necesario ponerlos en la lista de borradas. Asi no haces tanto trabajo para ti y los otros. :) -Nard the Bard 12:04, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

For categories it is not done by a bot. You open two windows, one at commons category, and one at the spanish wikipage. You start at the spanish wikipage, you click Editar, you go down the page and you find below the categories a block with interwikis (without the spanish interwiki of course, you are in the spanish wiki yet). You copy that block, you go to the commons window at the corresponding category, you edit that category and you paste the interwiki list, taking care that the spanish pagetitle es:spanish pagetitle is there also. A simple real-world comparison to illustrate: You removed the entire text of a page from a thick folder, but the then empty, useless page itself remained in the folder.

Buenas. He visto ediciones tuyas como esta quitando una categoría y una plantilla. Retirar la primera supongo que atiende a evitar redundancias de categorización, utilizando una categoría concreta del monumento que ya esté categorizada a su vez como bienes de interés cultural de la provincia de Palencia. Ná tranqui. Al principio pensé que tenías envidia de mis grandiosas fotos tiradas en modo automático :P, pero luego caí en lo mismo que dices. Lo de la plantilla más que nada es para que quede constancia de que entran dentro del concurso WLM 2011, para hacer bulto porque hay usuarios que están subiendo muchas y de mucha calidad. Se explica aquí en donde también se indican los pasos a seguir y un asistente de subidas. Básicamente lo de concurso es una excusa para intentar colaboración de la gente para fotografiar todos los bienes de interés de tipo monumental. En la provincia de Palencia son casi 200 (su código debe empezar por 51, los monumentos) y aunque se pueden subir fotografías tomadas en cualquier momento del pasado, para entrar en el concurso deben ser subidas exclusivamente durante este mes. Así que si quieres participar date prisa, me extraña que no lo hayas visto antes (ha estado apareciendo un banner en Wikipedia anunciándolo todo este mes). Verás seguramente las ediciones de Wiki-Bot categorizando dentro de la categoría de cada provincia, a partir del monumento (y unos pocos monumentos, para los que tengo introducidas las categorías específicas). He visto una foto en la que apareces como autor pero que me resulta extraño, te explico: es una foto tomada en 1968 según dices en la descripción, pero los metadatos son de 2010. ¿Es una foto de una fotografía? Pues tal cual me lo cuentas incurre en violación de copyright. Para que sea admisible debe haber un permiso de OTRS en el que el autor, el autor o poseedor de los derechos de autor, ceda los derechos.

Nono, arriba te aclaro que te lo había dicho al reves, la del 68 está sacada del libro de mosaicos editado por la Olmeda, es una foto de una foto. La que sale Don Javier paseando por Saldaña es la que es de Luis, él se puso ya en contacto conmigo porque no sabía quien era, y me dijo que la foto era suya, (me la pasó un familiar de Javier que trabaja en el Ayto de Saldaña de hecho), y a partir de ahí me dejó hacer. Escudo de Cisneros (Palencia)[edit]

Buenas tardes Sr. Valdavia. He visto en el armorial de Palencia el escudo de Cisneros que realizó en su día. Quería comentarle que el jaquelado, como se indica en el segundo cuartel, debe tener sus particiones al estilo del tablero del ajedrez por lo que si en vez de utilizar 5 filas x 3 columnas dibuja 3 filas x 5 columnas se aproximará mas a la realidad, y eso si, siempre empezando por oro como el blasón indica y está dibujado Reciba un cordial saludo Fernando

When we check Rename a category, there is nothing like "reason 3". The section "Type of renames" mentions "Controversial fixes" as the third type. However, it is not a reason.

If you meant Commons:File renaming (which is not intendes for category renames)), the reason 3 is "Correct misleading names into accurate ones". En ella figura una fotografía que no corresponde a Antonio de Oquendo sino a su padre, el también marino Miguel de Oquendo, lo que puede crear algo de confusión. Se trata de la foto "JohnPine TheBurningAndCaptureOfTheSanSalvador.jpg". Es en la categoría de Miguel de Oquendo (que también tu creaste) en la que debe estar esta foto, y no en la de Antonio. ¡Hola! Veo que estás catalogando estaciones del Vía Crucis. Te recomiendo la categoría Category:Stations of the Cross in the Land of Valencia donde encontrarás un puñado de ellas. Si te aburres puedes darte un paseo también por "Decorated tiles in the Land of Valencia" y sus subcategorías, que también son de mucho vicio. Estoy construyendo un catálogo en Wikidata de monumentos de la Comunidad Valenciana y estos enanos salen por todas partes, son de mucho vicio, ya te digo.

Como tienes un cierto aspecto palentino, te diré que en otro de los líos en que ando metido, es:wiki:Wikiproyecto:Ningún municipio español sin fotografía, nos faltan fotos de Amayuelas de Arriba. Puedes acercarte, echarle fotos y probablemente los frikis del asunto -somos bastantes- te hagamos hijo predilecto. A Palencia sólo le falta ese municipio, pero también hay huecos en Burgos, Salamanca y otras provincias.
