Hi, Thorvaldsson! Isn't this subcategory duplication of main Category:Hunting portraits? All the models in hunting portraits I belive are in hunting dress? or not?--Shakko (talk) 10:32, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shakko (talk) 04:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Boucher[edit]

Ok no problem, I can rename it.--Zolo (talk) 05:11, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Erm, Why has this been moved to Madame de Maison-Rouge, it is Charlotte de Rohan, Princess of Condé! The painting was owned by Marie Antoinette! This has annoyed me greatly tbh! Monsieur le Duc LouisPhilippeCharles (talk) 03:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Madame de Maison-Rouge as Diana, previously wrongly called Princesse de Condé as Diana, by Jean-Marc Nattier (1756)
New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art
I am grateful to you, Monsieur, for expressing your concerns to me. I would like to assure you that I feel sorry that these concerns have caused you an unpleasant feeling of being annoyed to a degree which is evident in your message to me. I do hope that the following explaination of the reason would make you feel as graceful as the sitter of the painting.

Due to the research on the identification of the sitter conducted by Xavier Salmon, the result of which is described in Xavier Salmon, Jean-Marc Nattier, 1685–1766, Exh. cat., Musée national des châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon: Paris, 1999, pp. 266–270, the sitter has been convincingly identified as Mademoiselle Belot, who was married in 1756 to Étienne de Maison-Rouge, receveur général des finances. In 1777 she was painted by Nattier in the guise of Venus (collection of Lynda and Stewart Resnick, Los Angeles). The gallery label of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in regard to the work in question has followed this identification.

You may notice, Monsieur, that the actual identification of the sitter, which is contained in the title of the work, is already present in the source, which has been kindly stated, as I remember it, by youself, Monsieur.

I must confess that this issue has convinced me to add the following information to the label : previously wrongly called Princesse de Condé as Diana.--Thorvaldsson (talk) 10:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Noooooooooooooooooo, this upsets me greatly lol! Sorry if I came across rude, I am a great fan Charlotte! Regardless who it is, I have always liked the painting, it is just so elegant Monsieur le Duc LouisPhilippeCharles (talk) 16:41, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Thorvaldsson! My mistake indeed, the bust was exhibited at the Salon of Paris (see the museum description, in French). I'll correct my description. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 19:58, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. The pleasure is mine:) mickit 21:58, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thorvaldsson
I've tried to improve this picture in QIC, I think it is less blue now. Could you have a look, please ?
I'm going to upload more photographs of paintings, taken by me last week-end in the Musée Condé of Chantilly. As I'm not a specialist, and as you look to be one of them, I'll be happy of your future reviews and comments if you are interested.
Thanks in advance, and for the current review anyway.--Jebulon (talk) 15:55, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. You have substantially improved the quality of the picture, unfortunately, I am afraid, the blue colour is still predominant. Nonetheless, I realise that to achieve the proper, true colours of a painting, one has to use special lightening etc. and that an editing programme alone is not enough. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for uploading the pictures you have, especially from the Musée Condé, which, as I believe, is poorly represented at the Commons. --Thorvaldsson (talk) 09:59, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
