You might want to start over again based on File:Flag-map_of_the_world.svg, because unfortunately File:A map of the Arab World with flags.png is a mess... AnonMoos (talk) 17:14, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It has been over a month and noone seemed to respond to the request. any reason for that? -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 06:12, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Outside of me being on a business trip in Ivory Coast, not really... - Zil (d) 14:44, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm a bit new to SVG file editing. Could you help me out here? Something went wrong with the Key text box, it's black. Even though it is ok when I use my editor. Thanks, A elalaily (talk) 10:30, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, take your time! Cheers, A elalaily (talk) 11:28, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Thanks! Now, which do you think is better in the infobox (considering the key has a tiny font there)? Cheers, A elalaily (talk) 12:02, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Qasr al-Nil Bridge[edit]

Not sure I know much about it, except that it gave the name of the "Casher O'Neill" character in en:Cordwainer Smith's novel "Quest of the Three Worlds"... -- AnonMoos (talk) 09:03, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Egyptian military insignia[edit]

Hi,
Could you please check out the navy insignia and army insignia files and let me know if there's anything wrong or anything that needs to be modified ?
I know that File:EgyptianArmyInsignia-FieldMarshal.svg needs some work. It's next on my list.
Cheers, A elalaily (talk) 22:46, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Featured picture candidates rules[edit]

Hi! Commons:Featured_picture_candidates/rules, Featuring and delisting rule #3:

  • Ratio of supporting/opposing votes at least 2/1 (a two-thirds majority).

So, for promotion with 6 oppose votes needed at least 12 support votes.

Very friendly, -- George Chernilevsky talk 06:21, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: The lion of Egyptian revolution (Qasr al-Nil Bridge).jpg[edit]

Hi, to be featured, an image must have seven supports, and at least twice as many supports as opposes. Thus, this image cannot be featured. Sorry! --The High Fin Sperm Whale 16:47, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you create a new map, with the new Libyan Flag representing "February, 17th Revolution" --Ismail Shahin (talk) 11:05, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help --Ismail Shahin (talk) 11:11, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It might be better to have it be a separate file under a different name (at least for now)... AnonMoos (talk) 12:53, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And now there's the South Sudan issue... AnonMoos (talk) 12:46, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I did File:A map of the Arab World with flags.png... AnonMoos (talk) 13:23, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will be time to change the Libya flags soon (probably within a few days), leaving the South Sudan fixes in place (of course)... AnonMoos (talk) 16:41, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Al Thoura[edit]

Sorry, don't think I'll have time for this anytime soon. If in a few months it's still relevant though, let me know and I'll take a look (hopefully my schedule will change by then). Cheers, Ynhockey (talk) 21:08, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This file is problematic due to several reasons:

  • Template:PD-Cuba can only be used for works created in Cuba, while this photo was taken in Gaza
  • Because in 1959, Gaza was under Egyptian occupation, Template:PD-Egypt may apply
  • This photo doesn't come from a book or newspaper, so it's unclear weather it was ever published

I think it would be proper to initiate a formal deletion request for the file, so that more people can have their say. Cheers! Óðinn (talk) 15:56, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, it still looks a bit dubious to me, but I'll leave it to the local copyright warriors to make a big deal out of it if they wish :-) Óðinn (talk) 21:38, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The answer is in the error message: "more than 12.5 million pixels". You need to reduce the size of the images, so that the software can create thumbnails. Regards, Yann (talk) 14:20, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I did it. Yann (talk) 15:07, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic descriptions[edit]

Would you mind adding Arabic and Egyptian Arabic to the description of File:No to Military Trials in Egypt.jpg? There is a backlog of Arabic and Masry/Egyptian Arabic descriptions needed, so if you want to translate more I have a link that I can show you. Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 06:54, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear caption for Egyptian constitutional referendum[edit]

Concerning File:Egyptian constitutional referendum 2012.svg, what's "at the national average" mean? Average of what? Also, I almost changed the orange to green thinking the person who labelled the picture was color blind. :) LokiClock (talk) 14:34, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Saeed in VI[edit]

Hello.

A good scope could be:
Scope:Khaled Mohamed Saeed, Street painting portrait.
This young man is an important person of the modern history, and I agree that we could pay tribute to him here.
So, no need to complicate the scope.
Please follow the rules in changing the scope, and I could support.
We are all Egyptian Liberals.
Cheers from Paris, --Jebulon (talk) 20:48, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Egyptian Liberal.

Thanks for message.
You can (I mean:"you have the right to") re-nominate it by yourself with the scope above !
I think it is better (better value) if you do it "you", and not "me".
I'll support, of course.--Jebulon (talk) 10:18, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done

As you can see, in VIC, the problem is not the picture, but often the chosen scope.
Join the club !--Jebulon (talk) 17:54, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Appointment in VI[edit]

There is a technical problem in your appointment. The scope does not seem to me appropriate. If the problem is resolved I would change the scope for this image seems very symbolic. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 16:48, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
