The first issue is that I find DKW Schnelllaster, Bj. 1950 (2013-09-03 museum mobile).JPG by the same photographer shows the entire vehicle better and is more valuable. It is an interesting perspective, not usually seen. Suggest you nominate this image instead.

The second is that location information added to the scope makes it too narrow per COM:VIS. That was my first thought. But then I decided to mention the driver first because there are only few pictures in its category. In addition, in captions in newspapers, the driver is usually mentioned first too, followed by the car. – I would have been very surprised if you had nothing to complain about and you will probably vote against. Scopes that are “too wide” may cover such a wide field that it may not be obvious why your image is more valuable than others. On the other hand, scopes layered with too much description (“too narrow”)vmay not define a sufficiently generic field.

The statement of view limits the scope and I think you can go wider and drop the view if the year is added. “Barn find” is just extra description; it does not define a generic field or category for VI.

COM:VIS: “There should be something visible in the nominated image which links it specifically in some way with the chosen scope.”

Would you know from looking at the image, that the scooter was a “barn find”?

There are many racing Minis of different years in the linked category and I am sure the engine prepped for racing is not the same for all. @Spurzem: I am just another participant in these Valued Image ratings (not the judge) but as you asked, COM:VIS clearly states that “Note that scope is not a simple description of your image. Rather, it defines a generic field or category within which your image is the most valuable example.”

Writing the “just right” scope is a challenge and there is more than one way to do it depending on the subject (It is a good idea to listen and consider the comments of others on the scope).

With an automotive subject, the model, and possibly year, are necessary to define the vehicle. If the vehicle looks different from the left or right side, you could make that case as well. Everything else is likely descriptive and should not be included in the scope.

What is valuable information to you as the photographer, is not necessarily important to define the "generic field or category" that is a "just right" scope for a Commons Valued Image.

"In motion" and possibly the view is just extra information that is not needed here. You could state that your image is the most valuable example of a "BMW 700 Cabriolet" or "BMW 700 Cabriolet (1961 - 1964)". @GRDN711: I would have been surprised if your objection had not come up. Why should the scope be wrong? It's a picture from the 1000 km race in 1970 and a scene with Hans Herrmann. Of course, I could also describe it the other way around. But then you would ask why I name the driver first and not the car or why I name the car first and the driver second.
