Hermes and Esculape[edit]

Hello SolLuna. Are you 100% sure of Category:Angoulême City Museum is Hermes and not Esculape, and why ? I took the photograph and it was written Esculape (I didn't invent it). But maybe it was a mistake of the museum. If you are sure, then I will rename the photograph. Regards, Jack ma (talk) 14:16, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sol/Sun vs Sol deity[edit]

I know it. Note that Sol, the Roman deity can be Sol Deiges or Sol Invictus. To Sol Invictus there Category:Sol Invictus but Sol Deiges is a divinity of the Republic, it can not relate to the time of Diocletian. As in both categories are used Helios and Sol is understood that this is because it knows which refers divinity. Sol is a very common word in Spanish, can not appropriate for that specific use. Many people are not used to try to find an English word into Spanish. Besides the two mentioned images can not be determined to be the god Sol or Helios and in any case, it is Sol Invictus, which has a separate category. Please do not revert back. If desired, you can recreate the category with another name, but no Sol, because it is confusing to native speakers of Spanish. Metrónomo (talk) 09:48, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All that you say I know. But notes that the policy mentions the names of the categories, at no time said that the redirects are to be provided in English. And indeed it is not, I made that redirect because I had seen before in several other languages, but do not recall any instance. I say no need to use Sol just as the two gods can be identified with a compound name. More even if this term is ambiguous. What I discuss is the redirect. And you cann't argue that the policy says should be in English, because it does not. Unless you have a specific policy, naming policies do not affect the redirects.Metrónomo (talk) 04:34, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
