OTRS ticket question[edit]

I forwarded a permission letter, concerning several photos recently (my e-mail adress- confrontation-game@narod.ru), have you received it? The author of the photos also says he sent you the permission himself, not just me (it concernes several photos from forum.guns.ru website).

Need confirmation that e-mail received to stard uploading. Best regards --RussianTrooper (talk) 14:56, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, after a discussion on IRC, I have re-opened this ticket as the closure was unclear. Could you revisit the ticket and add some more meaningful notes, better to demonstrate that an appropriate release has been made on record, and the images uploaded to Commons are correctly verified and can be validated by other OTRS volunteers? Amongst other issues raised on IRC, there were no links to the images given on OTRS, making it highly ambiguous. Thanks -- (talk) 19:37, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The ticket can be closed. I have removed the images from Commons and moved them to foundationwiki. guillom 19:41, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the prompt action on this. :-) -- (talk) 19:48, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of OTRS agents (again)[edit]

I think we would all like to know why you kicked @The Photographer out of OTRS. odder (talk) 08:16, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I will not oppose publicly available any material sent to you or OTRS for me. Here another injustice was committed. Not only WMF take important actions back to the community. Now we have a small group of OTRS superusers WMF subordinate doing the same. shit has hit the fan. In order to clarify the situation and stop the secret game. Can I release the mails to the volunteer list? --The_Photographer (talk) 11:02, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: OTRS permissions queues[edit]

The result was not positive. :( --►Cekli829 04:07, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS account[edit]

Hi Ryan. Just got a mail that my OTRS account was deleted due to inactivity. This happened at least twice before as well, and was promptly restored. Basically, I use OTRS only mostly to review tickets of files that comes up on the deletion queues. This has been mentioned even during my application for OTRS back in 2010 or '11. Would you be able to restore please? Best regards, Rehman 14:22, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rehman, given that you were inactive at least twice now you should probably re-apply via Meta - as is the process explained via email and the activity policy. As stated, we have plenty of volunteers so maintaining access for an agent who primarily only needs to read tickets is not generally something we encourage. OTRS permissions queues[edit]

I've been turned down twice, but thanks. Evrik (talk) 21:20, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, I think? Rjd0060 (talk) 19:58, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see...as an image reviewer you received the auto-notification. Now it makes sense. 20:00, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

About File:Lai_Ying_Tong,_Hong_Kong_Songwriter.jpg[edit]

Hi! I've uploaded a photo on commons a few weeks ago, I've ask the owner to send the email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. However, the photo still got removed. It's been more than 2 weeks since deletion. I really hope you could help me to restore the photo as this photo is for one of my wiki articles for class assignment. Thanks! Tvchan (talk) 23:35, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tvchan, you should leave your note at the OTRS noticeboard. That way once a volunteer finds the ticket, they can undelete the file. Rjd0060 (talk) 22:41, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Rjd0060 Thanks for your reply! I've left a note to them. Tvchan (talk) 20:15, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS permissions queues[edit]

Hello とある白い猫. You are receiving this message as a license reviewer. As you know, OTRS processes a large amount of tickets relating to image releases (called "permissions"). As a license reviewer, you may have the skills necessary to contribute to this team. If you are interested in learning more about OTRS or to volunteer please visit Meta-Wiki. Tell your friends! Thank you. Rjd0060 19:01, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed your message to me from a while ago from 1 March. I'd be more than willing to help. I am unsure if an OTRS access request would be realistic for me. -- とある白い猫 ちぃ? 19:59, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

OTRS[edit]

Hi, Rj, the OTRS automated responses are only available with commons and permissionen? And other languages? Willy Weazley 15:21, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Willy Weazley, they are not being used on any other languages (aside from German, where it has been in use for years) at the moment. I believe the plan was dependent on proper translations before it could be more widely implemented. ~
@Willy Weazley: If this shall be done in other languages, please go ahead an take the draft from otrswiki:User:Trijnstel/Automatic response, double check it and put in into a new response as in otrswiki:Response:en-permissions-mail received. If you need assistance, please let me know. --Krd 16:03, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd: please see. I translated to portuguese. You can check with a google translator. Willy Weazley 21:18, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Installed, please check. --Krd 07:37, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Willy Weazley, I hope you did not translate that solely with Google. As you know, that will not properly convey the appropriate message. Machine translation while helpful has its issues. Rjd0060 (talk) 16:21, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Of course not! It's for you guys to understand%Þ.Willy Weazley 21:22, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: OTRS permissions queues[edit]

ticket # 2008091810045165[edit]

Hello Wikipedia,

Regarding the photograph of Kermit Roosevelt III, which was uploaded by Rjd0060, Page address: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermit_Roosevelt_III

WHen one double clicks on the photo, it says that the copyright is held by Kermit Roosevelt III. That is false. The photograph is mine and I hold the copyright. No one obtained permissions from me. It also says that you have correspondence from KR III confirming that he is the copyright holder and is agreeing to license publication of the image to third parties. I would like to see the correspondence from your permission archives to confirm whose name is indeed on the correspondence. Please tell me who usurped the copyright on ticket # 2008091810045165 so that I can deal with the matter. Many thanks.

I have contacted Kermit Roosevelt about the issue and he has removed the photo from the site this evening, 12/30/15. I tried loading a screen shot of the site with the photo and the above information, but was not permitted, if you can tell me how to, it will be sent. Perhaps this link will work: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kermit_Roosevelt_III&oldid=697470510#/media/File:Kermit_Roosevelt.jpg

The photograph of KR III is my work, originally published in the Penn CUrrent: http://www.upenn.edu/pennnews/current/2005-09-08/interviews/next-big-thing The photo credit was accidentally omitted that week, but you can see my work here and all through the Penn Current publication for many years: https://www.google.com/search?q=candace+dicarlo%2Fpenn+current&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I can provide you with the hi res file from my archives, along with other photos from the session. My copyright information is also embedded in the metadata of the file.
