Hi. Could you add copyright tags to the images you uploaded (Image:Sterappel dwarsdrsn.jpg)? For now I have tagged your images as "Unknown". If there are no tags, the images may have to be deleted. It is also necessary to link all your images to a Commons page or to add them to category pages. Thanks. villy 20:13, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

regarding Image:Eichenprozessionsspinner meyers 1888.jpg: please alwys copy all imformation about an image when you copy it to the commons. Local copies of images may be deleted and thus information obout the source etc. may be lost. Also, regarding this specific image, you used the wrong license: images from Mayers are PD, you can not make them GFDL (which would not make sense anyway as the original author is unknown). -- Duesentrieb 15:57, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

About Image:MetaseqLeaves.jpg: please note that the GFDL requires the author of the image to be mentioned - please provide that info. A link to the wiki you copied the image from is not sufficient, because the image may get deleted there. -- Duesentrieb 10:16, 2 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

dito: please compare Image:Maybug.jpg - you allways have to provide a link to the autor and to copy the history if you´re uploading images from other users:
 • copy full original german info text, translate it if you want
 • link the german user page of the photographer with XYZ
 • copy the history: e.g. first upload at de.wikipedia 22:06, 7. Mai 2004

Vicia[edit]

Hello Rasbak! Both your images Image:Heggenwikke Vicia sepium.jpg and Image:Heggenwikke bloem Vicia sepium.jpg do not show Vicia sepium. Their correct ID is Vicia sativa. The leaves of Vicia sepium have a different shape, it has a higher number of flowers per inflorescence and the calyx teeth are much shorter. Best wishes --Franz Xaver 19:07, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

papiervlekken[edit]

Your picture titled papiervlekken shows white spots which are definitely not related to Phytophthora porri, but almost surely indicate inbreeding.

House mouse photo[edit]

Are you sure that house mouse in the photo (at the heading of the Russian-language article) is a house mouse or a white-footed mouse? It looks a bit more like a white-foot or perhaps a deer mouse to me. But then I'm not quite a mouse expert. ;)

The photo was taken in the Netherlands where no white-footed mouse or deere mouse lives. Yes it is a hous mouse.Rasbak 11:00, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Verkeerde benaming afbeeldingen[edit]

Alvast bedankt! Hello Rasbak, thank you for classifying Sonchus oleraceus. I uploaded it again under this name. May I ask you for more help? here are all my pictures of those plants I’m not able to classify myself. I asked Franz Xaver for help, because I didn’t know another one who could do this. But he is very very busy everywhere. So, would you like to help us classifying those plants? I would be very pleased about this. Greetings from Germany --Wildfeuer 22:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will do my best. But classifying from photo without description is often difficult.~~
And I will do my best describing my unknown plants in english. This is pretty difficult to me. I'll try next days. (Where’s my dictionary?!) Please excuse me, if I'm accidentally impolite talking to you.
I own this plant Image:2006-10-16-Salvia8.jpg and think it's Salvia patens. Do you agree? I have some more pics here on my picture page. Thanx for all and kindly regards --Wildfeuer 23:49, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorbus aucuparia[edit]

Hi there, I may want to use the image Image:Sorbus aucuparia Wilde lijsterbes bloeiwijze.jpg in my diploma thesis. I will publish my work under a creative commons license, which is not compatible with GFDL. Would you consider adding a CC license to this image? That would be a great help! Thank you very much. The next problem: I will not use a ShareAlike license. Could you consider granting me the right to publish this picture in my thesis under CC-BY-NC OR change the license tag to a non-ShareAlice license? That would be great. --Lode (Messages) 08:31, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-random Corylus avellana links on my uploaded pictures?[edit]

Not complaining per se, but can you let me know what you intend by putting a context-free link on the image page under licensing that points to the wikilink page for Corylus avellana? Wouldn't it be a better idea to simply link to my images in the Corylus avellana page and be done with it? I'd understand it if you added a Category tag to the image, but I don't understand the isolated link text. Can you explain? I'll not do anything about those links for now, but would appreciate you cleaning it up if that's not what you intended.

Thanks. --Malcolm Gin 17:32, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to upset you. That was sure not my intention. I put the link to the Corylus avellana page and put the pictures in the gallery, because then you can linked to all the pictures of Corylus avellana in commons with the tag Corylus avellana or Corylus avellana. For instance see the bottom line of the Dutch page of nl:Corylus avellana.Rasbak 16:53, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You said it isnt Thymus serpyllum, and I was a bit unsure too, but do you know what it is? If I get the name of the flower I will upload them again with the right name. //moralist 14:37, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know this flower. It looks like a member of the Caryophyllaceae.Rasbak 14:56, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What about Saponaria? It was the flower in the Caryophyllaceae family that looked like it most. //moralist 15:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is possible. But to be sure you have to check also the leaves.Rasbak 15:36, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I put it under the Category:Unknown flowers, so that somone who knows the flower can mark it. //moralist 15:45, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're too quick![edit]

Hi Rasbak, please give me at least half a day to put my fresh uploaded images to the right places. It's very confusing when you put them to galleries (and there to wrong places) while I'm working on them! Thanks. Ies 08:15, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categorisering molens[edit]

Groeten Havang 12:14, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wissinks Möl ligt in Overijssel.
Groeten Havang 19:19, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dag Rasbak, inderdaad, mill work was niet zo'n fraaie benaming. Groeten, Havang 14:06, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Making images brighter[edit]

I appreciate that you're trying to make images more legible, but your changes to Image:Cannon Beach 02.jpg and Image:USS Hornet (CV-12) stern.JPG, for example, did not make those look better so I have reverted to the originals. Your edits altered the images' color balance, removed much of the tonal range, and made the pixellation more obvious. Simply boosting the contrast or brightness of an image, instead of adjusting the levels, throws all of the image's other qualities off in this manner. Postdlf 14:33, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There has been continuing doubt about this really being a house mouse. Probably it’s a wood mouse (bosmuis). This is especially delicate because of the enormous popularity of the picture, and even the filename would have to be changed …

use of images[edit]

Dear Rasbak, I am writing to ask about the use of an image of yours from Wikimedia. I am working for a non-commercial biodiversity group “Biochange” in Ireland, making a web-based identification key of the plants of West Ireland. We would like to have images of plants next to their text descriptions.

I wanted to use some of your images from Wikimedia (Humulus lupulus female inflorescence, Panistaca sativa flowering plant and Rorippa microphylla inflorescence and leaves). These are accompanied by a GNU licence. In this licence it states that any “derivatives to be available under the same license”. Our identification key will be freely available for the public to use, however for various reasons I am unable to release it under a Creative Commons / GNU licence. Would you be able to grant me permission to use this image in the identification key nonetheless? (I would of course attribute it appropriately and the GNU licence would accompany the picture).

It would be very valuable for us if I could use these images as they are of plants I have not yet been able to find to photograph.

Yours sincerely

Chloé Galley

Hi, your picture of a governor seems to be the only one depicting a windmill governor. Have you got a date of installation for the governor? I am asking this, because it would be nice to actually have a picture of a pre-steam-engine/pre-James-Watt governor for the governor article. Thanks for your help. --DrJunge (talk) 08:34, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This one is from 1912 but I have read somewhere that in an english museum it was stated that the first governor way before the steam-engine was found in a windmill. Unfortunately I don't know anymore which museum it was.Rasbak (talk) 15:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rasbak/Archive 1!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you. BotMultichillT (talk) 06:23, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes the category disappear during uploading. I assume this is an error in the software. By the way I find the uploading sheet very unfriendly specially when I have to upload more images. Rasbak (talk) 07:35, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. If you transfer images from another Wikimedia project, like en.wikipedia to Commons please use the CommonsHelper tool with which you can easily transfer images. Files you uploaded may be deleted[edit]

The files listed below, which you uploaded, have been tagged OTRS pending for more than 30 days. This tag indicates that an email setting out permission to use the file was sent to the OTRS team. Unfortunately, we cannot find any record that such an email has been received, and accordingly the file remains without permission. Unless the OTRS team receives evidence that permission has been granted within 15 days of today's date, the file will be deleted. Please help replace this outdated license[edit]

Hello!

Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license PD. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.

The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding PD-self if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.

Thank you for your help. If you need help feel free to ask at Commons talk:Licensing or contact User:Zscout370.

The images we would like you to check are:

Not Myodes glareolus[edit]

Hello Rasbak, you have many nice pictures. But your «Rosse woelmuis Myodes glareolus.jpg» is belonging somewhere else, this must be from the Muridae family and certainly not a Myodes. I think this is a Apodemus, probably Apodemus sylvaticus as flavicollis is not common found in the Netherlands. Wikimedia Commons does not accept fair use content.

We do this because Commons is a shared media repository. Downstream wikis have different policies based on local laws. Uses that are acceptable under US law, for example, may not be acceptable in many other countries with more restrictive rules.

In addition, fair use is not compatible with our aim as a collection of freely distributable media files.

Therefore, Commons cannot legally rely on fair use provisions.

Non-free content that may be used with reference to fair use may be uploaded locally if your project allows this.

Biodiversity Photo[edit]

Hello Rasbak,

My name is Rita. I work in Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, that is a Public Organism in Portugal.

Actually, we are working on a road book of Biodiversity of Lisbon, for which we are going to produce a panel and a brochure. We found your photos on Wikimedia Commons and liked specially one of them very much, so we would like to know if you could allow us to use your photos, for free, to publish on this project, knowing that the brochure of will be for free distribution to everyone.

The photos we would like to use, for free, are the following:

apodemus sylvaticus - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mus_Musculus-huismuis_zijaanzicht.jpg apodemus sylvaticus -http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Apodemus_sylvaticus_bosmuis.jpg CROSSIDURA RUSSULA - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Crocidura_russula_%28Huisspitsmuis%29.jpg Robinia pseudoacacia - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Robinia_(Robinia_pseudoacacia).jpg

If you provide us these photos, we will refer your name in the bibliografy, just like we do with the other photographers and we need to know if Rasbak its the name you want we refer on the route bibliography?

If you could, please respond to: rita.neves@cm-lisboa.pt

Thank you very much.

Best Regards.

Several misidentified images[edit]

Dear Rasbak/Archive 1,

your images File:Trifolium dubium inflorescence, kleine klaver bloeiwijze.jpg, File:Trifolium dubium inflorescence, kleine klaver plant (1).jpg, File:Trifolium dubium inflorescence, kleine klaver plant (2).jpg and File:Trifolium dubium inflorescence, kleine klaver plant.jpg show Medicago lupulina, not Trifolium dubium. This is easily recognizable from the typical bent fruits of the plant, which are visible on some of the images, and also from the typical Medicago tips visible in some of the leaves. In addition, the flower pedicels of Trifolium dubium are somewhat longer than those of Medicago lupulina. Therefore the inflorescence of Trifolium dubium looks somewhat less dense (as in File:TrifoliumDubium-bloem-hr.jpg, which shows actual Trifolium dubium). By the way: File:Trifolium_dubium_seeds,_kleine_klaver_zaden.jpg should be Medicago lupulina as well. I am not sure about File:Trifolium_dubium_seeds,_kleine_klaver_zaden_(1).jpg, but if these are the seeds from the Medicago fruits, then they are also misidentified.

Hi

We are writing a book on spices and herbs.

The title is “Krydderleksikon med urter og smakstilsetninger” (Encyclopedia of spices and herbs). Print run is 5000 copies and the book will be published in May this year. It will be illustrated with photos of all the plants.

Most of the photos are already provided for but we still miss some picture.

We have found your photo of Glechoma hederacea on the Internet and we wonder if you kindly will let us use the photo in our book.

Hello Rasbak/Archive 1!

First of all, thank you for your contributions!

Is this file your own work? Are you the photographer/author of this file? If yes, please insert Own as source instead of "Rasbak (talk) 15:37, 5 September 2011 (UTC)". This is essential for keeping this image on Commons because this shows explicitly that this photograph is your own work.

Thanks in advance for your support. --High Contrast (talk) 10:20, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand the problem. When I use the uploader it insert Own work (bron) and Rasbak (Auteur). I have this done for thousands of photographs and never got complains.Rasbak (talk) 13:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: Used your media file[edit]

This is a courtesy note. One of your media files is featured in a new commercial eBook in Apple’s iBooks store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/book/dr.-kemps-kids-love-bugs/id497852225?mt=11

I’ve contributed images to Wikipedia for over seven years now (including several POTD and Featured Images) and I designed the WikiSpecies logo. I respect your work here and the CC-BY-SA license we all labor under.

I know commercializing Wikipedia work is tricky and so I’ve taken great pains to follow your CC-BY-SA license requirements. I also plan to donate 10% of my proceeds to the Wikimedia Foundation directly. This is the very first self-published e-book created with Apple’s new tools and sold in the store.

I’ve given your file a credit line in the “Image and Video Credits” section starting at page 24 as required here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License

This compilation features many of the finest Wikipedia media files in their exact form and not as derivative works. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verbatim_copying_under_the_GFDL#Making_verbatim_copies_of_images

If I did alter your work -- such as cutting out an insect part or adding a video sound track -- I shared a Share Alike version of the new media in a DRM-free format and listed the web address in the credits section.

Thank you very much for uploading your work to Wikipedia and releasing it for the world to use in enriching educational formats.

The Photographer's Barnstar
Hi Rasbak!

My name is Edoardo Bit, I am an architect and also a “young researcher” of the University of Ferarra (Italy).

I am writing a book on the “green walls technologies” and I have found very interesting some photos in your Wikimedia Commons page. So, I would kindly ask you if I can use them in my book.

Obviously, if you gently decide to grant me the permission, your name (or your Wikimedia Commons nickname) and the link of the pictures will be correctly cited in the credits of my publication.

The 5 photos which I would use are: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bitterzoet_Solanum_dulcamara.jpg http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Asperge_planten_Asparagus_officinalis.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Poa_pratensis_(Veldbeemdgras).jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gewoon_roodzwenkgras_Festuca_rubra_var._commutata.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lolium_perenne_Engels_raaigras.jpg

Myrrhis not Anthriscus cerefolium[edit]

Hi! Long time ago you uploaded the following photos:

As far as I can see, this plant is Myrrhis odorata, not Anthriscus cerefolium. The fruits are too big and to strongly ribbed for Anthriscus. Although having been uploaded at different times, I suppose all four photos belong to the same plant. Unfortunately these photos are widely used in many wikipedias to illustrate the wrong plant. Notifying you of an image removal under the DMCA[edit]

An image that you uploaded to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Station_Eindhoven_kunstwerk.jpg was removed based on the receipt of a takedown notice made pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. 512 (the “DMCA”). The Wikimedia Foundation (“WMF”) takes alleged copyright infringement very seriously and carefully examines each takedown notice received and the image in question for compliance with U.S. copyright law. This image was one of 59 photographs included in a DMCA takedown notice received by WMF of various publicly-installed sculptures around the world created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

Some of these sculptures are located in countries that recognize “freedom of panorama” for sculptures, while others are not. Currently, U.S. copyright law does not recognize freedom of panorama for works of art, such as sculptures, and thus the copyright holder of a sculpture has the right to exclude others from publishing images of that sculpture, so long as it still enjoys copyright protection. While it is true that some of the sculptures in question here are located in countries whose copyright regime conflicts with the U.S’s regime, current U.S. conflict of law principles indicate that U.S. copyright law would apply in evaluating the scope of a copyright holder’s rights.

WMF strongly supports a change in U.S. copyright law that would extend freedom of panorama to artwork so that more people can experience beautiful and thought-provoking works of art that they would not otherwise be able to enjoy. However, WMF is a U.S.-based organization that must comply with U.S. laws as they presently exist, including U.S. copyright law, conflict of law principles, and the DMCA.

What can you do?[edit]

If you want to express your support for the extension of freedom of panorama to works of art (and you are a resident of the United States), you can write your U.S. senators and/or representative.

If you feel that this particular image does not infringe the alleged copyright holder’s rights, you can contest the takedown notice by submitting a “counter-notice” to us. Before doing so, you should understand your legal position and you may wish to consult with an attorney. If you submit a counter-notice, the alleged copyright holder can stop us from restoring the content by suing you. Please note that WMF will not be a party to any legal action that arises from you sending a counter-notice, and that WMF is unable to provide you with legal advice.

More information on DMCA compliance may also be found at:

Filing a Counter-Notice[edit]

If you choose to submit a counter-notice, you must send a letter to legal@wikimedia.org asking WMF to restore this image. The letter must comply with DMCA standards and must contain the following:

 • A link to where the content was before we took it down;
 • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe the content was taken down mistakenly;
 • Your name, address, and phone number;
 • If your address is in the United States, a statement that says “I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court in the district where my address is located, and I will accept service of process from the person who complained about the content I posted”; or if your address is outside the United States, a statement that says “I agree to accept service of process in any jurisdiction where I can be found”; and finally,
 • Your physical or electronic signature.

Pursuant to the DMCA, WMF must inform the alleged copyright holder that you sent us a counter-notice and give the alleged copyright holder a copy of the counter-notice. We will restore this image within ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days, provided that the alleged copyright holder does not give notice of suit to restrain re-posting of the material. Use of your pictures[edit]

Hi,

We’d like to use some of your pictures for a book that will be publish next fall. On the Internet site that we consulted, it says that the pictures are copyright free.

The title of the book is Secrets de plantes 2 and the name of the author is Fabien Girard. The initial print run will be 1000 copies.

We’d like to have your autorisation by e-mail to use those pictures.

Here are the links of the pictures.

poa pratensis[edit]

Note:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Veldbeemdgras_Poa_pratensis_ligula.jpg

3 : The ligule is extremely short and square ended, making a contrast with Annual Meadowgrass (Poa annua) and Rough Meadowgrass (Poa trivialis) in which it is silvery and pointed.

So, I don't see that on your image. See this: http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image.jsp?id_galery_obfuscated=f39b0ea6365642b7a6c7a194864c7f37

that would qualify as ligule is extremely short and square ended

Thanks for uploading File:Molen Kerkhovense molen, maalkoppel maalbak pasbalk (1).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading File:Molen Sint Jan mengketel.jpg.

Thank you.

File:Wekeromse Zand Plattegrond GL.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Attribution for image[edit]

Dear Sir,

I would like to use the image "Mealworms in plastic container of bran" available at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/38/Mealworms_in_plastic_container_of_bran.jpg/556px-Mealworms_in_plastic_container_of_bran.jpg, in an extension-outreach publication related to pests in community environments. This publication is purely for educational purposes and has no commercial interests whatsoever.

However, the suggested attribution format,"Mealworms in plastic container of bran". Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 via Wikimedia Commons - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mealworms_in_plastic_container_of_bran.jpg#mediaviewer/File:Mealworms_in_plastic_container_of_bran.jpg", is very different from the style I will be following for other pictures in my publication, which will most likely be much shorter and in the format: "Photo by Abc Defghijk", or "Photo by Abc Defghijk, Lmnopqr.org".

Therefore for the sake of consistency, kindly let me know whether I may cite the images in the above formats, and if so, what name/affiliation should I use.

Thank you! Sincerely, Shaku

Pay attention to copyright
File:Stem-cross-section2 Dutch.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Beste Rasbak,

Thanks for uploading File:Molen van Hunnecum (01a).jpg.

Thank you.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Category:Bromopsis erecta a redirect to Category:Bromus erectus[edit]

You created the Commons category Bromopsis erecta. But the Commons category Bromus erectus already exists. Would it not be better to make the category Bromopsis erecta a redirect to the category Bromus erectus, so that all images are shown together?

Thanks for uploading File:WikipediaParamotor.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:WikipediaParamotor.jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.

License review[edit]

When uploading files taken from somewhere else, please always add Licensereview, otherwise we have to delete the files if the source changes the license or is no more available. --Didym (talk) 22:29, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, I went ahead and added License review to most of your recent uploads from external sites, and I changed the tele-botanica licenses to . If there's any problems with the review we'll let you know. Guanaco (talk) 07:02, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Calamagrostis pseudophragmites ligula (1).jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation.

Flickr2Commons[edit]

I have just come across a few images you have recently uploaded from Flickr. I would appreciate it if in the future, you used the Flickr2Commons tool. This tool allows images to be moved to Commons from Flickr without having to download the images to your own computer. It also brings in the largest resolution of the image, as well making sure to list the correct license and url, making it easy for the automated Flickr Review system. Also, it is fairly easy to categorize images with this tool. Elisfkc (talk) 20:17, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
