Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Please properly use the "source" field

Hi Ralbegen, Thank you for your contributions to Commons! It looks like a file you uploaded to Commons has an invalid entry indicated for its "Source" on File:Opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election after 2019 (LOESS).svg. It is important that the |Source= field, which is the record of where a file came from, be accurate and as machine-readable as possible so that others can verify its license and be able to reuse the file under the correct terms. For example, sources such as "Me", "Self" or "My camera" should be replaced with the template {{Own}}; sources such as "Google", "The Internet", etc. are not considered valid and may result in deletion of the file. If you did not generate the file yourself, then you may want to revisit the file and be as specific as you can in identifying your source: ideally, this might be a stable link to the exact webpage that the image or file came from, or perhaps the title, year, and page number of the book where you found it (a link to a website in general is not usually considered specific enough, nor is simply restating the name of the author). For guidance on indicating your source please visit the page COM:SOURCE.

@Senator2029: Thank for getting in touch! The data are opinion polls conducted by a lot of companies, as collated on the English Wikipedia page Opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election. Previous graphs used on the page have used "own work" as the source without controversy, so I'm afraid I wasn't aware there was any other expectation. I'd be happy to update the source field, but could you advise me on how best to reflect the use of English Wikipedia as a source? I keep the graph up-to-date with data on there and I've shared the code there so that others can do so if I stop. I would also prefer not to update the source field with a new specific revision link to the page whenever I update the graph, which can be several times a week, if at all possible. People Polling 28/12

Hi Ralbegen,

Regarding your UK LOESS graph, I wanted to suggest that the People Polling outlier poll conducted on the 28th December is removed for the time being.

The LOESS obviously is struggling to weight it properly because of the 6 day separation. Because of this, I'm sure you're aware how much of an inaccurate picture this paints, and I've personally seen several social media posts misinterpreting the situation.

Once 1 or 2 more post-christmas polls are released, I'm sure it will fix itself but I think it might be best to remove it until those are released
