Hello! I do understand your question, I think there is quite a mess here and no clear rules. I personally think that article pages are better than categories, especially in case of birds, but as you can see here it is not decided yet and I’m afraid will never be... (even if 1st option has more advantages than others). In my opinion it should work like that: 1. article page for a species, with a gallery of images; 2. article pages gathered in categories=families; 3. families gathered in categories=orders and so on. Some images of unidentified species could be linked to category page of family, until someone recognizes it and puts in a proper species article page. Category:Anatidae is very confusing, but for example category:Ciconiidae is much better organized. It’s up to you what to choose, if you’d like to help me – you’re welcome, but there is always a risk that somebody makes species level categories full of images again...--Anniolek talk 20:26, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Birds[edit]

I notice you've made significant contributions in the area of birds, so this is just a note to let you know that I have started a wiki-project birds :-) --Tony Wills 05:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
