First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?

Olá! Ao carregar um ficheiro de uma fonte externa com licenciamento compatível ao do Commons, peço que use...

A verificação do status do licenciamento será feita por Bot (Flickr) ou por revisores especiais para confirmar o licenciamento. Peço também que transporta a licença correta --> exemplo. Tenha em mente que serviços para hospedar imagens atraem também usuários que hospedam imagens sob um licenciamento livre que - na verdade - foram roubadas de outros sites. No caso do Flickr, este comportamento é conhecido aqui por Flick Washing --> ver Commons:License laundering para obter mais informações e instruções. Obrigado e boas contribuições. Bem vindo[edit]

Olá NosLida, parabéns pelos carregamentos, eu estava mesmo precisando de alguém que carregasse fotos de escolas de samba de outros estados aqui no Commons tb, pois as do Rio, da Intendente Magalhães, todo ano eu fotografo, mas as de SP não tem ninguém daqui. Eu comecei a pegar fotos livres do Léo Pinheiro postadas no Flickr, mas dá um pouco de trabalho, é bom que você esteja me ajudando.

Note, no entanto, que algumas fotos que você carregou já haviam sido carregadas por mim antes. Veja File:Angelina Basílio (Rosas de Ouro).JPG que você carregou eu já tinha carregado antes como File:2010 - Rosas - Angelina MG 1016.JPG. File:Seu Leandro (2010).JPG eu também já tinha carregado: File:2010 - LeandrodeItaquera MG 1011.JPG. File:Serginho da Vila Maria (2010).JPG também: File:2010 - VilaMaria MG 1233.JPG. File:Vai-Vai (2010).JPG também em File:2010 - Vai-Vai - casal.JPG.

Eu separei as fotos nas categorias mais específicas, veja que dentro da categoria das escolas de São Paulo cada escola tem uma subcategoria. Só não criei praquelas que tem poucas fotos e é difícil achar novas, como por exemplo Dragões de São Miguel que tem uma foto só e se não me engano ta fora dos desfiles oficiais. É importante separar em categorias para por nos artigos da Wikipédia assim: {{commonscat|NOME DA CATEGORIA}}, por exemplo, no artigos pt:Sociedade Rosas de Ouro você pode por {{commonscat|Sociedade Rosas de Ouro}} e vai criar um link para a Category:Sociedade Rosas de Ouro. Beleza amigo, eu deveria ter consultado, mas porque você carregou e não colocou nas páginas?? Nunca que iria passar na minha cabeça que existia fotos carregadas sem serem utilizadas nas respectivas páginas. É difícil achar fotos de profissional dessa qualidade disponível para carregamento, mas as fotos do Léo Pinheiro é de 2010; espero que ele continue fotografando e deixando disponível para enriquecer a enciclopédia. Quanto às fotos duplicadas, o ideal é que a primeira postada seja mantida e as demais eliminadas, mas tudo bem, elimina as duplicadas que não estiverem nos artigos, porém daqui pra frente, por favor toma mais cuidado e não posta as duplicadas. Qual o seu e-mail? Preciso te mostrar uma imagem que tenho aqui, não sei qual escola é, você deve conhecer melhor, tem como me dar essa ajuda? Leandro Rocha (talk) 10:18, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedian,

You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in Round 1 of the 2022 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
