Kategoriebezeichnung[edit]

Hallo Kabelleger. Wir lernen alle dazu. Ich habe bei der Kategorienbezeichnung "Bahnbilder.ch" ein Problem entdeckt. Eigentlich wollte ich nur einen Tippfehler korrigieren (siehe History bei Image:Re442_portrait.jpg). Da stand nämlich catpgory. Die Änderung hat aber dazu geführt, dass zwar der Text verschwunden war, aber es wurde kein link zur category gebildet. Der Punkt ist das Problem. Ich habs ausprobiert. Den Punkt habe ich herausgelöscht und siehe da, die catgory ist im Kasten unten (natürlich als nicht existierend) erschienen. Wenn also jemand per Zufall eines der Bilder findet, wird er nie auf diese category stossen (s. z.B. File:01 202 bei Otelfingen.jpg). Das "Problem" ist, dass Bahnbilder.ch eine versteckte Kategorie ist (kommt wohl vom Template User category). Ich habe im Moment keine Zeit mich mit dem Thema detailliert auseinander zu setzen, aber ich nehme an auf Commons:User-specific galleries, templates and categories policy werden sich entsprechende Argumente finden. --Kabelleger (talk) 08:15, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Die Kategorie an sich[edit]

Kann es sein, dass hier ein grösserer Upload von Bildern im Anlaufen ist. Das wäre eigentlich schön, denn Wikimadia ist das richtige Portal. Ich habe mal auf Eurer Seite herumgeklickt, da steckt wirklich viel drin. Ich selbst habe keine Erfahrung mit automatischen Uploads, aber es gibt sicher Hilfe. Ich lade nur gelegentlich Bilder hoch, wenn es mir sinnvoll scheint, und habe eigentlich auch nicht vor das zu ändern, aus zwei Gründen: Einerseits halte ich eine Flut von Eisenbahnbildern auf Commons für wenig nützlich (der Bedarf ist nicht so wahnsinnig gross), andererseits ersetzte ich Bilder gelegentlich durch neue Versionen oder skaliere sie für Commons noch etwas runter oder so, da ist es für mich angenehmer, wenn ich die Änderungen nur auf der Webseite und nicht noch auf Commons machen muss. Aber wenn sich jetzt der grosse Run auf Eisenbahnbilder einstellen sollte, dann können wir gerne darüber diskutieren :) --Kabelleger (talk) 11:36, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ich bin per Zufall auf deine Seite gestossen und tief von der Qualität deiner Bilder beeindruckt. Schön, dass du sie teilen willst. Meine Erfahrung ist, dass man nicht nur gut fotografieren muss, sondern seine Bilder auch noch mittels Nominierungen auf Quality Images und Featured Pictures "bewerben" muss, um nicht in der Masse des Mülls unterzugehen. Hin und wieder nominiere ich ein Bild für FP, aber nur sehr selektiv, denn ich habe den Eindruck, dass die Leute dort entweder für Eisenbahnbilder nicht so zu begeistern sind oder die Bilder zu wenig speziell sind für FP. Wie kommst du denn darauf, dass sich die Leute für Bahnbilder nicht interessieren? Von fünf nominierten Bildern hast du drei mit teils sehr hoher Zustimmung durchgebracht. Das ist gut, denn dort konkurrierst du gegen gut ausgebildete Profifotografen von der amerikanischen Armee oder die spektakulären Bilder des Hubble-Teleskops. Es gibt bloss 2000 FP, anderthalb Promille davon von dir :-).

Lizenzfrage[edit]

Ich habe gesehen das die eines ihrer Fotos im Artikel Željeznice Bosne i Hercegovine befidet. Ich habe auch eine menge Fotos von dieser Bahngesellschaft 2009 gemacht (u.a. Bahnhöfe und Züge) und würde sie gerne in der WIKIPEDIA veröffentlichen. Du hast sicherlich dort angefragt, hat die Gesellschaft denn irgendeine dritte Lizenz an dem Bild, sodass es nicht hochgeladen werden darf? Ich bin ja wirklich kein Jurist, aber mir wäre nicht bekannt, dass die Bahngesellschaft Rechte an einem Bild hat, das du gemacht hast. Natürlich kann sie dir das Fotografieren auf ihrem Gelände verbieten, was aber in Bosnien und Herzegowina zumindest bei den beiden Staatsbahnen meines Wissens nicht der Fall ist. In Doboj haben wir auch gefragt, ob wir auf dem Bahnhofsareal fotografieren dürfen, und da hatte niemand etwas dagegen. --Kabelleger (talk) 22:18, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, your LKAB locomotive pic is going at the top or bottom of the F and A page of The Signpost this week, although the position has not yet been decided. I've adapted the file mentioned in the Discussion Title (view comments). Since wikimedia is a compound of media in wikipedia English shall be first in text, as you did before already. Other languages might be added, especially – and that's not against you – as second,e.g the main language of the country where the item comes from.
And linking and maybe further categorizing, ...
I know that's a lot of work but once it has to be done (I will be retired 2016 and I definitely put already Hauptseite, Main Page and [1] for the time after on my tasklist).
By the way: my pics I've upladed to wikimedia about [2] needed me about 1 ½ year to edit and there's still some work with it. But's really nice to do it and to see, how the community reacts on it. But as I mentioned before second language about the item should be the one the thing comes from. Therefore I think I have another challenging task for later ;-).
I've tried around one our to get to two wikimedia links correctly, but I couldn't handle it. Maybe you can help me.

Ja, meine älteren Uploads haben nicht alle Deutsch und Englisch. Früher wurde das vom Upload-Formular halt so nicht vorgegeben, da ging das halt gerne vergessen (und ich bin dann auch zu faul, alle alten Files durchzugehen und das zu beheben...). Bei den neueren Uploads sind aber immer beide Sprachversionen da. Zuerst mal das: Ich habe kein Problem mit fehlenden Sprachen. Ich habe bei meinen uploads auch nie beim Tool darauf geachtet, ob man da schon was mit Sprachen machen kann. Ich mache das nämlich immer ganz anders – ich bin vielleicht etwas altmodisch – , normalweise lade ich meine Bilderserien in ein Excel-file, wo ich dann zuerst die Bilder mit gescheiten Namen versehen kann. Dann hat’s da Spalten für die Texte und Links, wo ich dann immer suchen gehe, ob es da schon was gibt – wir wollen ja keine Paralleluniversen in Wikimedia – und wenn nicht, dann mache ich natürlich z.B. neue Kategorien, die ich dann aber natürlich sofort auch auf Bestehende einbinde. Wenn‘s dann bei ein paar Bildern soweit ist, dann lade ich in der ersten Phase das Bild hoch, kopiere aber in der zweiten Phase sofort das Komprimat meiner Excel-Datei hoch. Ein gutes Beispiel, das mich sehr viel Arbeit gekostet hat, ist <<File:2010 07 20880 6702 Da'an District, Taipei, Daan Park, Exercise equipment, Fitness trails, Taiwan.JPG>>, da war ich sicher 1.5 Stunden am arbeiten.
Wikimedia hat halt da wirklich noch gewisse Probleme, weil es auf Wikipedia aufgesetzt ist. Da muss man halt selbst aktiv werden.
Zu den Sprachen denke ich, dass bei Dir für Wikimedia alles richtig ist. Mein Sprachvorschlag für die zweite Sprache ist eine Idee von mir; ich habe mir dabei selber auch ganz schöne Probleme mit der Editierung eingehandelt, aber was soll’s, ich krampf mich da halt weiter durch.
Das mit den links siehst Du wahrscheinlich in meinem Comment: Die :de und :en kommen als Klartext durch, die : commons nur als webIcons, die zwar funktionieren, aber keine Klartext anzeigen.
Ist ein bisschen viel geschriebenes, aber ich glaube Du verstehst’s.
Übrigens, irgendwer wird das dann in Ordnung bringen – oder auch nicht? –, dazu hat mir ein Wikimedia-user auf meinen Kommentar, dass ich mich mal um die Kategorisierung kümmern werde, die Antwort gegeben, dass das eine endlose Arbeit sein wird. Aber was wir machen, ist eine lebende Enzyklopedie, und das macht Spass.

I really enjoy seeing the whole world of trains. Most of my railroad photos are from the United States (including Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey), and I've only ever been to Germany once, which was a big thrill. Tracks are for trains[edit]

I just wanted to say thank you for this edit, because it makes exactly the same point as I did here in another recent FP nom (In that case, it turned out the photographer in question took it during his work as an engineer, so I was OK with it).

I am wondering, perhaps, if we might not want to create some sort of template about this, perhaps building on the "Tracks are for Trains" hashtag that the Union Pacific railroad has been promoting here in the US (an issue which railfans have been complaining about for years as well). Is there any similar campaign in Switzerland (or Europe as a whole)? Because we have a whole category full of similarly egregious images. @Daniel Case: Something like this? I think I can simply put this in a template. I don't know of any specific campaigns in Europe, but the hash tag is certainly a good attention catcher.

Trespassing on railroad tracks is dangerous and strictly forbidden!

  • Trains can not stop upon seeing you
  • Trains can approach silently (even large freight trains!)
  • Trains can travel at high speeds

Hi, I have problem with the places named on this image. It mention Joloman and Saryozek but here Cayly. I can not find any of these three places on any map. And I question the coordinates för w:en:Sary-Ozek, Kazakhstan which points to a place in nowwhere and far away från the railway. Bonsoir, Le fichier de la photo "File:Grandfey-Viadukt.jpg" porte la date 21 août 2009 à 21:39. Ma question est simplement : est-ce la date de la prise de vue, ou la date à laquelle le fichier jpg a été inscrit sur Wikimedia Commons. Je ne sais pas à quelle date le train (locomotive et voitures de voyageurs) qui circule sur le pont a été mis en service en Suisse.

Spain - Photos[edit]

Hi David! I'm working to expand the Linares-Almería line and I think these two photos (1, 2) would fit good. There is another one image (3) which would be perfect for the Mérida-Los Rosales line (unfortunately this last railway often has insufficient images). Could we count on them? And one last question, as a suggestion. For another occasion that you come to Spain, I inform you that there is a mining railway in Huelva (of British origin) that still works with steam locomotives and tourist functions. Meines Wissens gehörte der Triebwagen zum Zeitpunkt des Fotos Ferronor, auch wenn er nie für Ferronor fuhr. Soweit ich weiss gehört auch mindestens dieser Teil des Bahnhofs Baquedano zu Ferronor, so dass man selbst bei ungeklärten Eigentumsverhältnissen mindestens behaupten kann, der Triebwagen sei im Besitz von Ferronor. Meine Konvention für Bezeichnungen (die wir auch auf bahnbilder.ch einhalten) ist immer den Zustand zum Zeitpunkt des Fotos abzubilden (so gut wie möglich), weil das insb. bei Fahrzeugen mit Betreiberwechseln, Vermietungen etc. noch am ehesten sinnvolle Resultate ergibt. Was auf dem Fahrzeug angeschrieben steht ist weitgehend irrelevant, denn Anschriften wechseln in manchen Fällen erst lange nach einem Betreiberwechsel und manchmal gar nicht. Diese Methodologie lässt sich endlos diskutieren und es gibt beliebig viele Randfälle (Besitzer vs. Halter vs. Eigentümer vs. UIC-Nummer vs. EVU vs. Besteller vs. Marke vs. Vermieter/Leasingfirma vs. Tochtergesellschaft vs. übergeordnete Holding vs. ...). Aber abgesehen von alledem: Wenn du bessere Infos zu den Eigentums- resp. Besitzverhältnissen des Triebwagens zum Zeitpunkt der Fotos hast, lasse ich mich auch gerne von etwas anderem überzeugen und ändere dann auch gerne alle Angaben. --Kabelleger (talk) 21:34, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nachtrag: Du hast durchaus recht, wenn man den Triebwagen als Museumsstück betrachtet würde es mehr Sinn machen, den Triebwagen unter dem letzten Betreiber einzuordnen. Ich habe den Triebwagen damals eher als "abgestellt, vielleicht macht Ferronor irgendwann mal irgendwas daraus für touristischen Verkehr, aber wahrscheinlich gammelt er eher im Schuppen rum bis er zu Staub zerfallen ist" betrachtet.
