Eo Romam

Hi :). I'm so jealous - I was the last time 15 years ago in rome. Without my knowledge of today. You know, what I ever want ;). Vases, vases, vases (especialy painters like the Shuvalov painter. Euphronios, Exekias and samples of all we actually don't have - and rare forms ofcourse, stiles not so often shown in museums like Xenon, Red Swan, Northampton group, Chalcidican, Pseudo-chalcicican, Pontic, [Caeretaner Hydria Caeretanian], Canosinian (there are much better than mine), Centuripe, Kemai, Teano, Impasto or other etruscan and italic styles). Ceramics of all kind, but I'm like you also interested in all other archeological artefacts. In this moments I cant tell something special. Are you going to the Vatican Museums? (if then go really early in the morning, if you don't want to wait for hours!) I don't know, if it's alloud to take photos there (I think yes). If - then a good picture of fr:Auguste Prima Porta with some details, a good Image of the Laocoon-group, maybe also some details there. And, if you go to the Palazzo Colonna, there's my old project, the de:Knöchelspielerin (I must rewrite this article, my oh my...). An image of the version there would be great. So - without knowing what I want and need I had told you enough for the whole time, I think ;). Other thing - I've told it already to Bibi - if some of you will be in future in Berlin, there ever would be a room at my place, if you like. Marcus Cyron (talk) 20:07, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

If you're going to take photos of pottery - no wikipedia has an article about Campanian Ware, which was very common in the republican period in the Mediterranean before Terra Sigillata (or Arretine Ware) was developed. We don't have photos (very rare in german Museums) and it's hard to find any in the www. These two (rather small) can illustrate how it looks: [1] [2]. If you're visiting museums anyway, there is a big chance that you see this "black gloss ware" (sometimes a little bit red too). --Haselburg-müller (talk) 23:36, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Cameo

Humph! Excuse me if I'm unconvinced. This is clearly Gothic & I don't believe such a convincing classical gem could have been created at this date, certainly not in France. Gem dating is often controversial. But if the museum dates it then,it should be left. Johnbod (talk) 15:17, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
