I noted that you have no problems with uploading :-) But could you categorize your images directly on upload? That would be a great help for others, so that they are are able to actually find the images. If you know the genus of a plant, please put it at least in the relating category, e.g. Category:Tabebuia. See here for what I've changed exemplary. Great photos

Hi, I like your photos of birds :-), have you got larger versions? If they were larger (at least 1600x1200 and not very compressed) I am sure they could be nominated as Commons:Quality Images. Also I see from notices on this talk page that a couple of photos were deleted due to lack of information, they can easily be restored (undeletion request) if you wish to add author/permission info. --Tony Wills 10:15, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Watermarks

Hello, and thank you for the many great pictures of birds you have been contributing!

There is one small request I would like to make however, would you be willing to remove the watermarks on your images? Unfortunately watermarks on images are discouraged here on Wikimedia projects, and it would be a shame to not be able to use your valuable images to illustrate Wikipedia articles and such. =/

Considering the vast numbers of images you have uploaded already, I realize it would be tough for you to go back and re-upload every single image - I and other Commons users would be glad to help you out with this with automated tools if you'd like! We would also gladly help you insert the copyright and license information into EXIF fields to further protect your copyright if you would like. --Krimpet 10:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if you noticed but you are putting all your photos in a Category and no one will ever see them unless you connect that named category to a higher level Category by the same name. I have done 120 for you (birds and butterflies and a few plants) but you have to connect your cat's to a Common's Cat. WayneRay 13:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)WayneRay

I couldn't follow you. Could you be more specific? I am giving Genus name in the category. Also pictures can be searched either on scientific name or common name, in WikiMedia Commons. Further I have linked most of my pictures myself on Wikipedia. User:J.M.Garg

I have reverted a Category to the way you had it = Category:Porphyrio at the bottom of the Category page there is nothing, no bird family link. Now go to Category:Galerida and at the same place at the bottom of the page is the Category:Birds ALL OF YOUR created Categories were blank like the first one. Now if you go to your photos on Category:Anas and you will see the higher order Category, where there are many species pages and subdirectories. For now to be safe put the bird photos in the one that was already there = Birds. Or better still, Category:Birds of India And Butterflies of India is a category that is already there. I will move the ones I did from Birds to Birds of India to be safe. Also see this category of yours and you will see two linked categories Category:Ploceus One where is should go species and family, and the other your India collection. Hope this helps Oh and with Trees, most of the Botanical material on Commons is done so they should be put right in a photo gallery, not in a category. WayneRay 06:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)WayneRay

Hi, All the categories have been moved from Birds to Birds of India, that is finished, so for you it would appear best to not have galleries but to have only species categories, that way they can be linked to Birds of India and also add a second link to an appropriate higher order category in the bird kingdom. Category

Your photos are excellent. I have put the parakeets into species categories, which are all linked to higher directories. If a category does not exist, you can make a new one. Incidentally, it would be interesting if you would say a little (not to much) about yourself on your user page. User pages belong to the wiki for readers and editors to see. Category:Grus antigone

Ok my friend let's start over again. Start with the photo of the Grus antigone. YOU put it as a photo in Category: Birds of India AND you put it in a Category by the same name. Please go and look at the Category page Category:Grus antigone and you will see it is not linked to anything. See how it is a red color and it should be a blue color. PLEASE go to the EDIT link at the top of the page and click on it, at the bottom of the EDIT page is a blank page where you put the Category:Birds of India in between the brackets. Yes you are right but only for the individual photograph, If the photograph is in a Birds of India Category then it too, does not have to be there, only the Category. A new Category has to be linked by hand, it is not automatic. I will check your page tody. WayneRay 12:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)WayneRay

I have spent 4 hours and I think I have made all the connection or at least most of them. If you look through the list you will find both a higher order category or genus and also Birds of India (in most). WayneRay 15:23, 23 October 2007 (UTC)WayneRay
