Hello, I am asking your help with regard to the file

File:Entwicklungserwartungen von russisch-deutschen und deutschen Müttern von vierjährigen Kindern.pdf,

It is a file from German wikiversity, in a similar situation a year ago you have decided to keep it, see Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_uploaded_by_Mgausmann

My fingers hurt!

Have I told you lately how much I miss having you sail through the DN's hitting delete? I'm doing the best I can to try to do what I can, but it feels like the tide is turning and too few holding the nets. Do you have any ideas how to automate some of this? I'm thinking there has to be a way for someone to code something or another which would help. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 01:13, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

Check your email. INeverCry 02:25, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
  • @Ellin Beltz: It's been a while since I closed FFDs/PUFs on en.wiki. I'm not sure how AnomieBOT could deal with DRs where a closing rationale of whatever level of complexity is needed. I personally think simple DRs don't need rationales, which is why I rarely used one. Something like AnomieBOT would be great for those IMO. AnomieBOT and DelReqHandler, which we didn't have on en.wiki, would make closing a large number of simple DRs much quicker. INeverCry 02:44, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

Rights to the images

Hello! You have deleted several images I posted yesterday:

Gary Williams himself, who holds all the rights to his album covers, gave me the right to use these images however I see fit (and, in turn, to set licenses for them). Please, can you tell me what is the simplest way to prove this in accordance with Wiki guidelines? Is it enough if he sends this template from his e-mail address? Or should I tell him to put them on Flickr with the right license so I can reuse them here? --Strizivojna (talk) 09:11, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

OTRS would probably be the best option. INeverCry 17:33, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
I will do that, thank you.--Strizivojna (talk) 21:10, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Just to let you know: I've re-uploaded the pictures with a "subst:OP" tag, and the author has sent the OTRS e-mail. Thank you for your help. --Strizivojna (talk) 11:38, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, good to see you around again. I have a question to you: I uploaded the above image (enjoy it, better with a glass of white wine or rakı) "today". Suddenly I see that the image appears in someone's talk page archives of 2008! The only explanation I may find is that there was another file with this name but it was removed. Should I not be warned by the system that I was re-loading a deleted file? (Well, not the same file, only using the same name.) Or is there another explanation to this? Best. --E4024 (talk) 13:42, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I don't see any other entries in the log for that image. 2008 is a while ago though, so who knows? I see you've asked a few people about the current category issue; it's being dealt with in https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T116001. INeverCry 20:47, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

A cheeseburger for you!

Thanks for reviewing the license on the latest picture I've uploaded! I really appreciate your help. As you know, I used to nominate lots of pictures for deletion to also be helpful here, but typically I got very sick within hours. I decided to try once more a few days ago, nominating over ten pictures for deletion, but again I got violently ill. I suspect I'm very vulnerable to witchcraft! LOL Anyway, have a great day! • Give barnstars. There's only a few grumpy fucks around here who don't like barnstars, and you probably wouldn't want to have anything to do with them anyways... INeverCry 04:30, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
  • My big problem with barnstars is that whenever I have spent a lot of time helping new editors on Wikipedia, they either don't thank me, or they do show some gratitude, but they are too new to understand how to give me a barnstar. I have only received one barnstar in my entire career (which I show on my Wikipedia user page in a place that's supposed to be a list). Life is so unfair to me! Dontreader (talk) 04:47, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks so much! It's a great honor to receive a barnstar from you. What I must do before I nominate more pictures for deletion is buy a bunch of needles and voodoo dolls! Dontreader (talk) 05:27, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

  • The kittens I'm dealing with here at home are cute too, but always hungry... I see my post on your talk didn't help too much. The negative photo suggestion actually comes from experience: Fae had to upload a neg pic to save an old pride photo a while back. As for the abuse bit, I'd chalk that up to frustration. As per this block log, you've indefinitely blocked a user, the reasons you've mentioned there.

Let me share with you that this user has contributed quite productively on Urdu Wikipedia since the last two years.

I therefore request you to revoke block on him.

I will then communicate to him to upload only his on pics on commons. --Muzammil (talk) 07:54, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

I (very slowly) need your help

Hi INeverCry, Following Commons:Deletion requests/File:Marche charlie 07.JPG, it's too late, but I don't understand, this photo was never on flicker, it was in my camera then in my pc (hdd, more accurately) and then I upload the file here, on wikimedia commons. What is doing Flickr here ? No big deal at all, but I understand less and less what happens on commons. And the 2 persons who made the (ugglishly childish) drawings were ok for the file to be on "wikipedia". But things are dust covered, now, so please answer only if you have nothing else to do. Salut. Alvaro (talk) 14:31, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alvaro. The photo seems to have been fine, but, ugly or not, photos of artworks constitute derivative works if the artworks are prominent. In such cases OTRS permission from the "artist/s" has to be obtained. I imagine if we said Commons derivative policy only applied to "beautiful" works of art, we'd quickly be up to our necks in arguments and interpretations... INeverCry 21:05, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello INeverCry,

thanks for reviewing my uploaded files in the last days! I use them in a textbook and it helps a lot to have the license of the files reviewed because so I have the assurance that the file will not be deleted because of copyright claims.

Greetings, Stephan Kulla (talk) 15:03, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Stephan. I'm happy I could help. INeverCry 21:26, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Opinion please?

I value your opinion on images greatly, would you take a look at this one [1] and see if it's promotional/etc.? Also the use of the OTRS tags on all the photos, while [2] only shows one edit and not by an OTRS volunteer. Each of the three photos has different author and each has OTRS. It just somehow struck me as odd. Thanks! Ellin Beltz (talk) 15:39, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

The first one doesn't look promotional in a commercial sense to me: it looks like its purpose is more evangelical than anything else. The uploader has had one of their uploads DR'd today as a promo though. The OTRS tickets would have to be looked at by an OTRS member like Steinsplitter or Green Giant, or asked about at COM:OTRS/N. INeverCry 22:27, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
Both images were processed by @Ronhjones: in 2014 but I'm not 100% sure about the permissions because they are from the same Hushmail address with a forwarded email from the separate copyright holders. Green Giant (talk) 23:07, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Mass rollback, again

Something's still wrong. I decided to revert all of the latest problematic edits, so I searched all the contributions after having it give me only file edits and only edits that were the latest to each page, ending up with [3] after making minor edits (either dummy edits or small improvements) to images that would suffer if I reverted the latest changes. This done, I clicked "rollback all" and was told Error: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Writ Keeper/Scripts/massRollback.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript at line 0: Script error Could you suggest what's wrong? Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 02:10, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Looks like the script won't run. I've had other scripts go dead in the past. I'll see if I can find an alternative. INeverCry 19:54, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Another opinion please

Is this file [4] correctly licensed? Flickr has it as 2.0, but I don't see that on our file template. Thanks as always for your help. Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:31, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

@Amitie 10g: This is cc-by-sa-2.0 rather than PD-author. Likely a simple overlook (I do it now and then); can you take a look at this and adjust the license? INeverCry 17:47, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
@INeverCry and Ellin Beltz: , as I remember, I checked at november 10 (two days ago) that Clive Barker licensed the file originaly as PD Mark (where the most correct license is {{PD-Author}}) and I checked that twice. You're right that the license is now CC-BY-SA, so I'll update it. --Amitie 10g (talk) 17:55, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
It's actually good that he changed it then: cc-by-sa-2.0 is a more clear license. INeverCry 21:10, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Deleted Image on Cordis (File:Cordis.jpg)- November 16th, 2015 8:10pm

Hi there,

I am wondering where you found the flickr content with the wrong copyright tag. I can't seem to locate it, and keep having problems with the images being taken down. Could you elaborate on why you did this, so I can correct the issue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 375mon (talk • contribs) 01:11, November 17, 2015‎ (UTC)

The license is displayed directly under the image at the direct Flickr source. Take a look at {{Flickr image info}} for the acceptable and prohibited licenses. If I failed the review on an upload of yours, it had one of the prohibited licenses, likely non-commercial. INeverCry 01:43, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

I'd be grateful if you could restore these images, they are OTRS pending. Thanks. edward (talk) 07:20, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator, so I'm unable to restore files. Once the OTRS is confirmed, OTRS agents/administrators will restore them. INeverCry 07:30, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

The Photographer (talk) 23:27, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

@The Photographer: Thanks Wilfredo. I don't remember any rudeness from you, but if we had any disagreement, it likely had to do with my stance on issues regarding Russavia. I over-reacted from the start on that, and I'd certainly do things differently if I could rewind time. I can understand Scott's care for his uploads and why he socks around the ban. I'd probably do the same if I was in his place. I can't revisit the past, but if you speak with him, or if he sees this, I can assure him I won't be interfering with him in any way going forward. I hope you and Beria have a good Xmas & New Year. INeverCry 20:46, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

May I know?...

Hi, Sorry if I said something not appropriate, but I don't understand why you got angry and left. I was just trying to offer a honest assessment of the pictures. I don't see the point saying there are all perfect if that not the case. Regards, Yann (talk) 06:57, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

@Yann: I sincerely apologize for my behavior toward you. You didn't deserve that at all. I was in pain and I took it out on you; there's no excuse for my actions. After looking through those cat show pics, I can see your points about the harsh lighting, and the cats are in public and under stress, so a lot of them do look scared or bothered. Those images are better as educational illustration of the various breeds, especially the Donskoy and Ukrainian sphinxes. Anyways, it's time for me to shut up and get back to work. Category:Sara Malakul Lane "by country" advice?

So; after you were kind enough not to delete everything left and right after I screwed up a few details of these uploads, and instead to fix it, I ended up with two images for this person, possibly a third. So I made Category:Sara Malakul Lane. According to w:Sara Malakul Lane this person is of Thai-English descent, born in Guam, and resides in California. I also noticed that Category:Female models by country and Category:Actresses by country listed among User:INeverCry/Stuff#Interests. So, have any advice? Where in the various "by country"s would you classify her category? --GRuban (talk) 22:08, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

I've catted this to my standards. There's no Guam-specific model or actress cats, and she never actually lived in the UK, so I left out UK-related cats. If you ever find any other actresses/models from Guam, you could start new specific Guam-related occupation cats. INeverCry 22:22, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
Nice! I clearly went to the right person. Thank you! --GRuban (talk) 22:29, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

Just a note: please don't rename files that are currently in a DR. You moved File:Marlen Food Plaza.jpg which is currently in a DR to File:Marilen Food Plaza.jpg, and due to that, the deletion template remains in the redirect and there is no deletion template at the renamed file. When I see some files that are currently in a DR and also has a rename request, I decline the rename because I know it will mess up a bit the DR. Not a warning but a reminder. Thanks! Expo 2012は無料ではなく有料です。--hyolee2/H.L.LEE (talk) 23:42, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

These are modern buildings in South Korea. South Korea has only an unacceptable non-commercial FoP. You have to pay to stay in modern hotels, and to have office space in modern skyscrapers, so I don't see what an entrance fee for this expo would have to do with South Korean FoP restrictions. South Korea FOP deletion requests

Any comments pertaining to the numerous deletion requests of potential South Korea FOP violations I've recently filed should be made at the deletion requests themselves; they won't do much good here - you want to put them where the closing admin will be sure to see them. I would also note that these deletion requests aren't done with any personal motive; I've deleted and nominated thousands of FOP violations from Russia, Ukraine, Slovenia, France, Italy, the US, etc. INeverCry 01:32, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

How to request a picture of deletion in Wikimedia commons?

Hi INeverCry, sometimes I found that some of the images posted here are Skype own copyrights but claimed as one's own ...
File:Stiahnuť.png

Plus such as these whereas he claimed is his own work but it is from TImes website as seen in the picture
Koesno soekarno
Also , last case, someone using Wikimedia commons to promote the adverising of the products without any actual values... Such as these..
Volante CTP Grapex Perú 02
So how may I request a proper deletion pages ?

Thanks again for promptly granting request of file renaming. Thanks to Wiki very confusing and beaureaucratic making me at loss — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thatonewikiguy (talk • contribs)

Hi. I've made a few changes to the Skype logo, which is ok because it's a simple text logo. I've tagged the 2nd one a a possible copyvio, and we'll see if someone who knows more about LIFE images can come up with the proper info to keep it. I've tagged the last one, and all but one of the user's other uploads as promotional images of a non-notable company. I used Help:VisualFileChange.js to delete the five promotional files at once (you can enable it for yourself by clicking that link and following the instructions). For tagging single images for deletion or as copyvios, we have automated tools that help. Go to your Preferences/Gadgets/Maintenance tools/ and tick the boxes next to AjaxQuickDelete and Quick Delete. This will give you menu options on the left hand side of your screen that allow for easy deletion tagging. INeverCry 19:02, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

FPC

Your comments here were hurtful to me, and rude to Yann. You have the cheek after that to lecture me on whether to include "I reckon" in a review. I am not responsible for your hissy fit over some bleedin' cat photo. I won't be going out of my way to signpost comments so you can tell what is speculation, opinion or fact. Feel free to mentally prefix anything I write with "In my humble opinion, and with the greatest respect to the photographer, uploader, nominator and any reviewers who hold different views..." if it makes you happier. I'm more than happy to engage with others at FPC to discuss what makes a featured picture. And I'm happy to see your reviews of pictures at FPC. The other stuff, I really really really do not any longer give a shit about, and would appreciate if you would refrain posting that kind of remark at FPC or pinging me about it. -- Colin (talk) 15:10, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

@Colin The simplest way to reduce the stress load and unwelcome behavior is to stop participating in it and creating more of it. Perhaps you are unaware of how emotionally loaded your note is, or perhaps you didn't read the memo, but at least two of the words you have thrown at a colleague are considered vile by Native English Speakers in the United States - probably on your side of the pond as well. If you would be so kind as to find your professionalism and politeness, many problems of this sort can and will be avoided in the future.
There is absolutely no reason to play Verbal Drama Games here or anywhere.
Saying or writing them indicates a problem with Verbal abuse on the part of the user. Do have a read because it's a very short distance from Verbal abuse to other forms of bullying. This is unbecoming, particularly coming from a Commons user. Ellin Beltz (talk) 18:53, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Ellin I sincerely hope that the "emotional loading" in my note transfers the idea that (a) I am upset by what INC wrote, which has no place on FPC, (b) INC continues to blame me for his fake-retiral which I reject and (c) I no longer wish to be lectured on the subject. I hope the previous sentence is suitably free of "OMG he said a bad word" that you might get the point. Particularly (c). PS, I have no clue what your last sentence means. I am not an admin nor a 'crat nor have the slightest intention of ever applying for that role. -- Colin (talk) 19:11, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
@Colin The simplest way to reduce the stress load and unwelcome behavior is to stop participating in it and creating more of it. Continuing to participate in over-emotional discussions doesn't benefit anyone - including yourself. I get the point. Please get mine - politeness and good behavior will produce far better results than petty insults. I have re-edited my last sentence to include "a Commons user" instead. Ellin Beltz (talk) 19:19, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Ellin I really don't think you get the point. That's twice you've said I should stop participating, and you put it in bold this time, just in case I have vision difficulties. Well you are the big admin and 'crat with the block button, so I wonder who is bullying who? There is nothing in my reviews that twice causes me to be blamed for someone's fake retiral. If you can find a way of informing INC with "professionalism and politeness" that I don't appreciate being twice blamed for his fake retiral, then I would appreciate it. But no, the most important thing on Commons right now is that I said "bleedin'" or "shit" when I was upset, and need a lecture on the subject.-- Colin (talk) 20:02, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
@Colin Be cool please. ;) INC, I am glad you are here again. Yann (talk) 20:26, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

My uploads

Hi! I recently uploads some images from [5] that you last reviewed and accepted the term of it's use like this. But User:Ytoyoda listed my uploads for deletion! Please help me. Thanks. GTVM92 (talk) 12:38, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

He also slapped "no permission" tags on some images I'd already reviewed. I've asked to have my image-reviewer right removed, so I can focus on more relaxed areas like categorization and simple file moves. I'm not in good health, so I need to stay as far away from drama as I can get here. Sorry I can't do more for you. INeverCry 20:00, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Oh no, INeverCry! Don't go, you were very good. You helped me when I asked.
Or, rather, I guess you know best. Take it easy for a while, then come back when you're able.
@GTVM92: I'll try to help you. I've still got the image license reviewer right, let me look over the images and get back to you, and/or talk to Ytoyoda. I've got to go do real world stuff now, but tomorrow will be all right, I hope? --GRuban (talk) 22:56, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Oh that was easy, I was literally editing Ytoyoda's talk page, when I got an edit conflict with him admitting he was wrong! I didn't even submit my message. INeverCry - can you point to the "no permission" tags on images you already reviewed, and I'll take a look at those? Or were they also Tasnim News Agency photos? --GRuban (talk) 03:54, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
They were a bunch of Korean K-Pop singer pics. The "no permission" tags had been removed, but it was just a bit of an annoyance. In the end, I've been overworking myself on the reviews, and I'd rather work on sorting images, which is easier; and I can focus on my own uploads and other things that interest me personally, rather than spending hours with K-Pop pics or Slovenian cycling videos... I'll leave it to the under 40s crowd... I just don't know how I managed to do almost 300,000 mind-numbing deletions and 14,500 slightly less boring blocks as an admin here, not to mention the 30,000 log actions I did as an admin on en.wiki... INeverCry 04:22, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
@INeverCry: , @GRuban: Thanks for your helps. The problem is solved. Thanks a lot. GTVM92 (talk) 14:21, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Technical problems

Hi, INC. I'm trying to upload photos via UploadWizard, but every time it stalls and gives me the message "Internal error: Missing parameters on request". This happened even when I tried to upload a photo that I'd previously uploaded successfully a couple of years ago. Yet to judge by the Upload log other people are not having problems. Could you guess what the cause of all this might be? Thanks. --Antiquary (talk) 22:24, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

I wish I could help, but I've never used the Upload Wizard. I always upload my own images one at time via the plain old basic upload form. Other than that, I'm decent with Flickr2Commons. I guess you could do it the old slow way as I do, or, if you've got a bunch of images, you could ask at Commons:Upload help. My other method is to just keep trying different things till something works, a bit in the MacGyver spirit... INeverCry 22:38, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I should have thought of using the old-fashioned upload form. That seems to work fine for me.
Superb picture of the cat, by the way. --Antiquary (talk) 22:55, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Old-fashioned is often the best. Take holding a nice old 8vo volume in your hand instead of looking at a blaring computer screen for instance. That just reminded me of my Reade. Four 1871 Harper volumes of 12mo in double columns. I'm glad glasses aren't old-fashioned... INeverCry 01:36, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I couldn't read for pleasure from a computer screen. As for the Commons:Upload page I'm finding that even that is now only working occasionally, and all the alternative methods look much too complicated for me. My participation here hangs by a thread. --Antiquary (talk) 13:09, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
You're using this upload form? This has never gave me problems, and I've used it pretty regularly for 6+ years. In any event, I hope that thread is of the strongest fabric. INeverCry 18:22, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Actually no, I was using this one. Maybe now I can start making progress, though if an upload form can be ballsed up my hardware and software will do it. Thanks for the lifeline. --Antiquary (talk) 19:38, 3 March 2016 (UTC) By the way, what do I write on the "Permission=" line? -Antiquary (talk) 19:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
You can leave the permission line blank. That's primarily used when the image author is another person and OTRS or other permission indication is needed. You just need to put {{Own}} in the source field, {{U|Antiquary}} in the author field, and then choose a license in the drop-down list below the source/author/description form. INeverCry 19:59, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

We have a large backlog in many areas; I wish some of the tasks could be more automated like an upload comparison to google or tineye; if found - send to a suspension area, or refuse the upload without OTRS. Something, or we'll drown in submissions. Ellin Beltz (talk) 05:00, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Grumiaux

Hi INC. You recently deleted an image I'd uploaded. It was a CC BY 2.0 Flickr image of a CD cover that included a pic of Arthur Grumiaux. I think you deleted it because the original image, before the Flickr user took his shot, was copyrighted; is that correct? If so, are we allowed to use any images of this chap with some sort of fair use rationale? Thanks, Bromley86 (talk) 06:19, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, just to note, INC didn't deleted the image you uploaded (but he was an admin before), but just marked the image as a copyright violation. Christian Ferrer deleted the image you uploaded. It was deleted because it is copyrighted, due to COM:DW. So the CC-BY-2.0 license won't apply to the image. Also, fair use is not allowed on Commons, see Commons:Fair use for explanation. Please upload the image to a project that allows fair use, such as the English Wikipedia. Thanks, Poké95 08:28, 17 March 2016 (UTC
Thanks Pokéfan95 for that great explanation, much appreciated. Bromley86 (talk) 21:15, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Opinion please?

Greetings INC!! https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/2016/02/07 contains a few Russian issues. It's over a month old and no resolution, could you render an opinion on the ones in Cyrillic? Thank you ever so much if you can! Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:52, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

@Ellin Beltz: I've put my vote in at the three by Dogad. I'm familiar with him from my admin days, and he's very solid with his DRs. The bottom one looks like it involves OTRS tickets, so I'll have to pass that one by. INeverCry 18:04, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks INC, those were the three I was puzzled over. The bottom one of course needs an OTRS volunteer to solve. Again thank you for your help and have a great Caturday! Ellin Beltz (talk) 18:09, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello

Hey. Could you please check if these files pass the License review? Here they are [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11]. Thank you in advance! --Eurofan88 (talk) 19:20, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

We have 6 images here, all small with no COM:EXIF, from 3 different venues, uploaded by https://www.flickr.com/photos/140936599@N04/, which is a very new Flickr acct with 8 uploads. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting my name to a review of these at the moment. Perhaps @Jameslwoodward: , @Stefan2: , or @Túrelio: could have a look at these and give us a 2nd opinion? INeverCry 19:44, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Indeed, it looks suspicious. However, a Google-Images search gave no hits for the 6 images. Some of them aren't of pro-quality anyway. --Túrelio (talk) 19:58, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Well there are many other small sized images on WikimediaCommons, but i don't think it's a reason to remove these images as there won't be any other picture to use in this person's Wikipedia article. This image will most likely be deleted because i found it on many sites. --Eurofan88 (talk) 20:26, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
  • At flickruser:140936599@N04, it says that the account was created this month. Flickr reports that seven out of the eight pictures were uploaded today. It doesn't say when flickrphoto:26265607456 was uploaded, but it's placed between two pictures which were uploaded today, so I presume that this one also was uploaded today. I wouldn't dare to review these files as 'passed'. --Stefan2 (talk) 20:29, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
  • Hmm. No EXIF, and, as Stefan says, suspicious. On the other hand , Google doesn't find any of them anywhere else (although Google is quick, I wouldn't expect it to have images uploaded today.) There's nothing like any of them on Bryson Tiller's Facebook page and he doesn't seem to have a web page, so I'm OK with them right now. Eurofan88, what you might do is wait a week or two and then do another Google search -- if the Flickr person found them someplace where they were just uploaded, that would give Google search time enough to have both the Flickr version and the real source. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 22:17, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
  • As a former license reviewer, I agree with the comments above. I suggest you to ask them if they get the images from the web (but don't ask first if it was their own work, otherwise there will be a high chance that they will lie)? If they said they did get the images from the web, ask them what website(s) they get the images. If they said that it was their own work, ask them what camera model they used, and when the image was taken. Ask them also why there was no EXIF data on their images (and don't forget to explain what EXIF is). Then we have information. Poké95 02:08, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
I do know what EXIF is. On Flickr those images were uploaded by someone i know on Facebook, who has the right to publish them. I contacted him about this and he added the dates when those images were maden. It's not his own work but his friends, who sent him the pictures via Facebook PM and gave him the permisson to do "whatever he wants". He told me that he cropped and edited those pictures via pixlr.com, so that's why the EXIF data is not shown in the page i guess. --Eurofan88 (talk) 07:24, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Just a note; If you upload others' images on Flickr, it doesn't show the EXIF data. --Eurofan88 (talk) 08:26, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately we need "friend Dallas ... on Facebook" to release the image, not just Fergu Porgugh. See, "whatever he wants", could just mean that Fergu Porgugh himself could put the images wherever and however, but not necessarily someone else be able to do "whatever". We need the latter. The easiest thing would be to have Dallas send an email that says "I took these photos (specify the photos) and am putting them in the public domain" that you would then forward to COM:OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). --GRuban (talk) 17:53, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Eurofan also uploaded some more images that he asked me to review and because they only have the YouTube standard licence they are now up for deletion at: Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Eurofan88. It seems that most of the balance of the images have been passed by various reviewers as good though they might possibly require a recheck. Ww2censor (talk) 10:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Hello IneverCry, Iberia Express A320.jpeg image has permission to publish. This author has given permission for the publication of their photos in this album as indicated in this other wikimediacommons publication.

I wonder if I can publish the photo as there is permission to publish

Thanks.--Cuentaprueba10 (talk) 17:12, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

Upload it with the OTRS ticket in the permission field. INeverCry 18:04, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Category_talk:Baseball

Hello! I was going to create the subject page, as I have a proposal pertaining to the category which I would like to discuss. However, I noticed that you had at one time deleted it with the log message, "out of scope". I am unsure if that applies to the page itself (i.e. there's a better place for discussing the category) or just what had been written there at the time of deletion. So, I thought I'd ask you before I recreate it. Waz8 (talk) 03:06, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

That deletion applied to some kind of out of scope content that had nothing to do with the category, likely posted by an IP editor. Feel free to recreate it. INeverCry 05:13, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, I will do so. Waz8 (talk) 02:09, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Waz8: it was deleted because an IP added an unrelated question in Afrikaans asking something about booking options. Green Giant (talk) 19:56, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
Surely you deserve more than this, but you are a hero for processing my bursts of excitement (upon finding a cache of wonderful free use media) with such alacrity. Your license reviewing service to the project is appreciated. czar 22:51, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

I don't understand

Why did I get this email? Why was I being subject to deletion? I'm confused.

@AbeEzekowitz: Your userpage here got hit by an anonymous IP vandal: see here. I've reversed the vandalism. INeverCry 02:24, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

Text expander

Re: User:INeverCry/Deletion, have you tried using a text expander? Saves me a lot of time, personally. I use Typinator but there's a Chrome extension that works pretty well too czar 20:07, 8 May 2016 (UTC)

I haven't, but I usually use the top rationale for 90%+ of my DRs anyways. I'm one of the safest bets for new admins who want to get a handle on DR work. Glad to see your RFA's going so well BTW. INeverCry 20:25, 8 May 2016 (UTC)

kantei.go.jp

Have you worked with this site before? I'd do their license reviews but I don't trust my translation of their permission statement. Also haven't heard back at Commons:井戸端#kantei.go.jp. czar 20:33, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

I have no experience with that source. Perhaps @Whym: , @Yasu: , or @Miya: could help with checking the license at http://www.kantei.go.jp/jp/terms.html. INeverCry 20:42, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
Apparently it's the same license used across multiple Japanese gov sites. Once it's verified, I can help make a template that spells it out clearly for English readers. czar 20:53, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Czar: I've done a couple custom replaces, and so we now have 48 files in Category:GJSTU2. Reviewing shouldn't be hard, as it's just a matter of finding the image at the source. Adding the applicable attribution code or title to the attribution parameter shouldn't be too hard either, since most seemed to be from 3 different sources. I couldn't do anything about this with custom replace for the ones that used the basic {{Cc-by-4.0}} since I couldn't use multiple values for one replacement. That means 40 or so of these have to be attributed by hand; only the MOFA ones used the attrib template, which was my 2nd and smaller replace. INeverCry 01:37, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

CopyRight Violation File:Jeff_car_craft_pro_builder.jpg etc

New to Wikipedia and was practicing in Sandbox. I did not realize that these photos were going into the Commons. The cars are pictures from magazines, so yes, delete them. But the other two are personal photos. The pro builder shot was taken at an event with my iPhone. Thank you. Cdevlin67 (talk) 04:57, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

They were all deleted, and I have no power to restore them. As a general rule, mixing copyvios with good uploads is a recipe for getting them all deleted. The presence of the copyvio uploads often casts doubt on the rest per COM:PRP. INeverCry 01:40, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of two files

Hello! You've marked File:ES2G ride, Moscow - Khimki - Skhodnya.webm and File:ES2G front ride, Khimki - Skhodnya.webm for speedy deletion with the reason that they were uploaded on YouTube under Standard YouTube License. A few hours later, both files were deleted by User:Ellin Beltz. However, the author of these videos added license information into the description for each video:

Original text in Russian:

Лицензия Creative Commons

Произведение « » созданное автором по имени Леха Неизвестный, публикуется на условиях лицензии Creative Commons «Attribution» («Атрибуция») 4.0 Всемирная. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Translation into English:

License Creative Commons

The work « » created by the author Lekha Unknown is published under the license Creative Commons «Attribution» 4.0 International.

Basically, YouTube allows users to mark their videos only with the CC-BY 3.0 free license, so if author wants to select another CC license or doesn't know about this option, he usually uploads video under Standard license and adds license information into description. Also, if YouTube detects copyrighted content in a CC-licensed video, it automatically changes the CC-BY license to the Standard without possibility to change it by uploader. In this case, all 3 videos on YouTube contains copyrighted music — I've removed it and replaced with a CC-licensed music from SoundCloud and AudioTool websites. Because the copyright holder of camera-recorded video and sounds is the YouTube uploader which permits usage of his videos under CC-BY 4.0 International license, there is no copyvio in the files that I uploaded to Commons. So I ask you to restore these files or if you don't have admin rights, notificate User:Ellin Beltz to restore them. — Xenotron (talk) 07:43, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi Xenotron: I think it would be better if you took this to COM:UNDEL and let the folks over there decide how best to handle this situation. I will not oppose an undeletion, but I'd like consensus. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:24, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

vio pictures!

Hi friend. there is a problem! all of the upoads, have copyright! I suggest you to speedy deletion! Thank you as usual.Saman-1984 (talk) 19:14, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

A recent filemove

Hello, INeverCry,

I saw through my watchlist a recent filemove of yours. I have some objections to it (and I even refuted an earlier request to move it). Even if it was requested by the uploader, there were one or two good reasons to not follow the demand. The name is somewhat erroneous in the first place: the photo shows the street some time ago, where it had an older name, not the current one (duplicated by the filename), it should have stayed for historical reasons. Moving to a filename using non-latin characters reduces the readability and usability, which may be discouraged in my opinion (I admit that this is a not very strong argument, but still useful to tilt the balance to one side of a decision or the other). So, can I convince you to undo the move? Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 15:03, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

I wouldn't be supportive of moving it back. The original name honored the Soviet writer Alexander Serafimovich, a writer I'm quite familiar with. Serafimovich was a staunch Bolshevik, a member of the Communist Party, and a winner of the Stalin Prize, which in 2016 wouldn't be at all attractive to a citizen of Kiev, or most other parts of Central or Western Ukraine. Since the uploader requested the move, and he's a native of Kiev, I think it would be insensitive to force the issue with the cultural and nationalistic issue present, and with the serious internal conflict currently taking place in Ukraine. In the end, I'm not an administrator any more, so I wouldn't be able to delete the redirect and move the file back myself even if I wanted too, but I would prefer to respect Maxim's wishes in this case. INeverCry 21:23, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
OK, then... I conceive that under those circumstances, trying to keep a historical document is not the best. F*** politics of those guys (or women, when it comes to Thatcher or Merkel) of either side of the Atlantic searching for bigger cocks and wanting to hide some inferiority complex on the soviet side and losing sight of innocent inhabitants of disturbed areas.
