Thank you for uploading images on Commons.

Please add your images to appropriative pages and/or categories where other users could easily find them. For example to Category:Eger.

Please use {{GFDL-self}} instead of plain {{GFDL}} for your own images.

The first "version" of this image (at 19:55) is actually wrong (It is not a photo of Mari but the citadel in Tripoli, Lebanon) so is it possible somehow to preserve only the second (correct) "version" (20:03) and to remove only the first one? BTW, I am going to upload some Tripoli photos quite soon, I believe. Respond to my discussion page, please. --Heretiq 20:36, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Done. You could also use Commons:Deletion requests page for similar requests. Any administrator (who read this page :-) will do deletions for you. --EugeneZelenko 03:50, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the "old" version of this image, but please be careful in the future and not use the {{Delete}} tag. This places the image in the "speedy delete" queue and any overzealous admin may delete the entire image by mistake. Use COM:DEL instead. Bas parler voir 15:10, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Byblos[edit]

No, saj vem za drugič, kako in kaj. This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:UshuaiaViewFromPPLF2.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Damascus courtyard image - request[edit]

The Seattle Art Museum is interested in using the following image in a new multimedia interpretive project: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Umayyad_Mosque-CourtyardEW.jpg

I am new to the concept of Creative Commons and would like to know what stipulations might be in place for the use of this image by our institution. The use would strictly be non-commercial and educational in nature, and would create valuable visual context for a discussion of a set of wonderful Islamic manuscripts in our museum's collection. Please let me know if you have any particular guidelines for our use, as well as how you would like your credit line to read if we are granted rights to reproduce this image.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi, can you however care that Wikimedia gets some pictures of the Litani arroundings and the bridge? Would be great if you find some possibility, either you make it by yourself or you find somebody who can do it. At the moment we don't have any picture of that bridge. -- sarang사랑 13:30, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This user is not active anymore. The only way to do that is by using the same copyrights as on the picture and mention the username/photographer. If you don't place the same copyrights and the username (name of photographer) it's copyright violation. There is no other way you can use pics from here legally. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 00:37, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

awesome picture[edit]

Hey, I'd love to use this photo in a book: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Damascus-Bab_Kisan.jpg

Would be glad to pay if necessary. Drop me a line! ieatyams09 AT gmail.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebpinegar (talk • contribs) 19:51, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See above, the user is not active anymore. You have to use the exact same license and the name of the photographer (mostly the username). If you do that, you don't have to pay. If you use the picture without mentioning the license and the username/photographer, it's copyright violation. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 00:39, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
