Please add a proper copyright tag to the image. For now I have tagged the image as GFDL, please change it if you'd like another copyright status. Nice image by the way. -- Chris 73 08:11, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Please add a copyright tag, and also to the other images of you. —Breeze 12:53, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Untagged images[edit]

Hi - several of the images you uploaded are listed on Commons:Untagged_images#H, because they have no license info. Please add the appropriate Commons:Copyright tags to the images description pages, as images without license info will have to be deleted. Please also add the author, source and date of creation if applicable. Thanks! -- Duesentrieb 13:01, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that this image you uploaded is still lacking a license. I assume by your description that it should be GFDL but I leave it to you. Regards, Thuresson 12:19, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

old PD tags to PD-self tags[edit]

Welcome!!! It appears that you are interested on the above project. I will be working on the project after 12 December 2006. I hope you are still interested. We need to enlist many more members. Ketankhare 59.182.47.100 16:36, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In nl:Ammonium, I replaced your image:

File:Neutralization of Ammonia.PNG

by a <math> notation:

which, in my opinion is prettier, but also easier to modify and derive from. --82.169.106.20 20:46, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fractional Distillation[edit]

HI. I'm trying to do some research on building a small petroleum distillery and I was wondering if i could talk with you further about some of your distillation tower drawings. If so my e-mail adress is thelakerat@aol.com. Thank you for your help. Matt

File:Triclosan.PNG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

The factual accuracy of the chemical structure Image:Ethylbenzene.PNG is disputed[edit]

Dispute notification The chemical structure Image:Ethylbenzene.PNG you uploaded has been tagged as disputed and is now listed in Category:Disputed chemical diagrams. Images in this category are deleted after one month if there is no upload of a corrected version and if there is no objection from the uploader or other users. Please discuss on the image talk page if you feel that the dispute is inappropriate. If you agree with the dispute, you can either upload a corrected version or simply allow the image to be deleted.

In all cases, please do not take the dispute personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! --Leyo 01:49, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded an improved image since then. H Padleckas (talk) 08:12, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi H Padleckas. Thank you for striving towards good quality chemical images on Commons. However, may I ask you to upload PNG images in a higher resolution (see here) in future? Improved PNG images I upload look e.g. like this or this. Thank you in advance. --Leyo 08:52, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems as if you want to make chem structure *.PNG images roughly about 1000 pixels wide for higher resolution. Since File:Hydroxybenzene.png is not being used on any important Wikipage, it is not a high priority for me to fix it now, but there are other *.PNG images I may improve this way; i.e. making them large. H Padleckas (talk) 15:58, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is what I meant. If you redraw a structure anyway, there is not much more work to save them in a higher resolution. --Leyo 17:58, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, H Padleckas!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Producing pictures of chemical structures[edit]

Hello,

I saw a couple of your images (methylbutane, neopentane) in the Wikipedia article on Pentane and wondered whether you created them by hand or using a molecule editor. If you used an editor, which one was it? Thanks, 212.84.104.198 22:18, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I created the images manually, so to speak. I did not use a molecular editor. H Padleckas (talk) 15:07, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. 212.84.110.64 15:04, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alembic image question[edit]

I'm interested in where you found File:Alembic.png. I'm using it as an illustration, and it'd be nice to be able to give its original source, if you have that information to hand. Many thanks, Pseudomonas (talk) 13:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow I made a mistake when I called this image File:Alembic.png. In fact, it is not an alembic but a glass retort used for distillation. The page you listed above with a link, File:Alembic.png, states where I got the image: from the Polish Wikipedia. Specifically, it says "This image is taken from the Polish Wikipedia where it is called Grafika:Destylacja.png . It was originally uploaded into the Polish Wikipedia by User:Topory in 2003. In the Polish Wikipedia, this image was released into the public domain." However, it is not Distillation by Alembic, but Distillation by Retort. H Padleckas (talk) 17:56, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Today this image file was moved to File:Distillation by Retort.png for correctness. H Padleckas (talk) 04:43, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
