  1. Alfred-Wegener-Institut
  2. Alfred-Wegener-Institut für Polar- und Meeresforschung

Hallo Hannes, die Hauptkategorie ist Category:Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (englische Bezeichnung), die beiden anderen Kategorien sind nur Weiterleitungen.
So dürfte eigentlich beim kategorisieren mit HotCat.js die "Category:Alfred-Wegener-Institut" gar nicht erscheinen da sie ein redirect ist - merkwürdig, daß das noch immer nicht richtig funktioniert. Liebe Grüße. --GeorgHH • talk   10:51, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I want to upload this image from Flickr. Generally I use the upload bot, but now I want to upload manually. The upload bot form the permission section in the upload form in the following way:

Hi, when uploading files manually, only add {{Flickrreview}} to the description. A trusted user later will check the license and fill out the fields.
Before you can upload a flickr image to commons manually, you have to save it to your hard disk drive. The image name you stored at your drive is the "Local filename". Hi Georg. The pages User:GeorgHH/Bad file names* are posing considerable problems with User:CommonsDelinker at the moment. The pages cannot be edited because I get time outs (want to add {{Nobots}}, and they get a lot of attention from CD because of their nature (some contain 5000 images!). Ideally you would have a tool on toolserver that does a better job using less resources. Would you please consider blanking these pages and finding another solution? Cheers! I just read the message on my discussion page regarding this picture. I'm not very familiar with Wikimedia Commons, but if I understand it right it is sufficient if the copyright holder fills in this e-mail template[1]? redirect[edit]

Hello GeorgHH,
I wanted to create the category Category:Canis_lupus_familiaris as a redirect to Category:Dogs. But I discoved that this had already been done and suppressed by you.
I have already seen such deletion, but never understoud the reason. I would like to understand the reason to avoid myself bad redirect.
Could you tell me what rules/ideas this deletion follows ?
Personnaly, I find this redirect cool because:

  • in Canis lupus there is a list of existing subspecies, but Category:Canis_lupus_familiaris is a red link.
  • when I search for "Canis lupus familiaris", I would prefered to find a category (or even a page). Currently there is none.
  • redirects have that purpose: provide multiple access to the same cat/Article from different names.

Hi Leyo, in der Regel werden werden die gelöschten Bilder gesperrt bzw. mit {{Prohibited name}} hochgeladen. Eine Zeit lang funktionierte die Sperre leider nicht richtig, es konnte trotzdem hochgeladen werden. --GeorgHH • talk   11:05, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Diejenigen Namen, die ich ausprobierte, scheinen nicht gesperrt zu sein. Jedenfalls habe ich im Upload-Formular nichts entdeckt, was auf eine Sperre hindeuten würde. Ganz ganz unten erscheint zwar ein Hinweis, dass mit “DSC” beginnende Namen nicht geeignet seien, aber dieser kann leicht übersehen oder ignoriert werden. --Leyo 14:21, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Gesperrt sind in der Regel auch nur die Dateinamen, die zuvor schon einmal gelöscht wurden. Zuvor noch nicht verwendete Namen wie Image:DSC000117.JPG können hochgeladen werden, nur der "DSC-Hinweis" erscheint. aber da Du Dich ja in Hamburg auskennst, eine Frage von mir: Der Uploader dieses Bildes meint, es sei von der U-Bahn-Haltestelle Hoheluftbrücke aus gemacht (wenn mein rudimentäres Verständnis der polnischen Sprache mich nicht völlig im Stich lässt). Moin und sorry wenn ich mich hier einmische, aber ich denke es ist die Haltestelle Hoheluftbrücke Richtung West, da die Bahn nach Barnbeck fährt und die Gleise auch links abbiegt. Habe per Google Map noch mal nachgesehen, Bäume sind auch da und würde so auf 80% gehen. Fahre da aber mal wieder vorbei und steige aus um die 100% zu erreichen. delete request File Gerson-Grab.jpg[edit]

Hallo, der Fotograf ist ein älterer Herr, der mir schriftlich die Erlaubnis zum Benutzen des Bildes gegeben hat. Bei Einstellung des Bildes habe ich ein jpeg-Bild dieser Erlaubnis an die angegebene e-mail Anschrift geschickt. Dies habe ich heute auch an diese Anschrift getan: permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Leider ist dies zur Zeit die einzige Möglichkeit die ich habe, die Erlaubnis nachzuweisen. Ich denke nicht, daß er sich anders äußern würde. Ich wäre deshalb für einen Ratschlag dankbar, wie ich das Problem lösen kann, außer selbst nach Hamburg zu fahren und das Bild aufzunehmen. Hallo, wie befürchtet, der Fotograf meldet sich wohl nicht. Ich denke, er ist wegen seines Alters nicht mehr dazu in der Lage. Ich würde vorschlagen, das Bild zu löschen. Ich werde Anfang Januar in Hamburg sein und dann sehen, ob ich das Bild nochmals selbst fotografieren kann. Dann haben sich die Probleme mit der Lizenz erledigt. Hallo Georg. Ich habe dieses Bild und File:Logo Bier und Burgenstraße.gif am Montag hochgeladen. Ich habe dem Verein der Straße das Offizielle Wiki-Formular zugesendet, in dem man eben angeben muss, dass man der Urheberrechtsinhaber ist und das Bild in Wiki verwendet werden darf. Du weiß schon ;)

Jedenfalls, so weit ich weiß, haben die vom Verein in einem Formular für beide Bilder erklärt, dass ich sie hochladen darf etc. (mit dieser cc-by-sa 3.0 lizenz, oder wie die heißt...).

Vielleicht hat man daher einfach nur übersehen, dass für diese Datei auch eine Erlaubnis da ist. Ich weiß nicht, inwieweit du da zugriff auf die Commonsserver hast, aber vll. schaust du ma bei der Bestätigung für das Logo nach.

Soft Redirects bei Arten[edit]

Ahoj Georg, nicht erschrecken ;-) Kannst Du bitte mal hier vorbeischauen? Das dort angesprochene „Problemchen“ habe ich mir nur kurz angeguckt, aber mir scheint schon, dass es zumindest im Lebewesen-Arten-Bereich besser ist, „fehlende“ Galerieseiten nicht mit einem Soft Redirect zur en.wikipedia, sondern mit einem gewöhnlichen Redirect auf die passende (und fast immer schon bestehende) Commons-Kategorie zu versehen. Betreffs deiner Ablehnung der Löschung von File:Bundesautobahn 26 number.png möchte ich gerne von dir wissen. warum man die Datei File:Bundesautobahn 26 number.png aufheben soll, wenn es eine SVG gibt ? Commons: Deletion of PPI-Signet[edit]

Hi GeorgHH, It seems that you deleted File:PPI-signet.svg because of "No permission since 28 June 2010". This is very odd to me as I recall that I uploaded it myself (=author) and choose an appropriate license, that is in accordance with the one of the Piratpartiet signet on which it was based on. Hello Valio, if you upload a signet/logo of a partie to commons you have to provide source and license information so other users can check it. Permission was requested on 28. Hallo GeorgHH, ich habe mich mal auf die Suche nach dem Urheber des Bildes begeben. Das Bild stammt aus einem Nachbarort meines Heimatorts. Die Verwalter diverser homepages habe ich angeschrieben. Den Verlag, der die Postkarte herausgegeben hat, habe ich gefunden. Das war aber eine Sackgasse. Es wird wohl schwer, den Fotograf zu finden. Falls er unauffindbar bleibt, könnte die Regelung "älter als 100 Jahre" Sinn machen. Wie siehst du das? Gruß --LoKiLeCh 23:24, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

picture source[edit]

It seems you wants to delete a picture I've added (Jan Stig Andersen). Apparently it lacks source-information but I think I've put everything in there and it is all fine and free to use for anyone. I do not want to spend another four days trying to figure out, how this system created for engineers and nerds works. Could you please tell me in a language normal people understands how to fix this non-existing problem? Best regards Sindbaek - who is in total despair over trying to do good and contribute, but gets stopped all the time!

Thank you for the note about this file, but if you read the history of the file you will see that it is not my image. I merely transferred it from the German Wikipedia before automatic tools to do so existed.

The page on the German Wikipedia appears to have been deleted some time in the last four years, so I suggest you ask an administrator on that project for details of that page and the original uploader. 21:02, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
