Where can I find a deletion request for this A. de Vries' drawing?

During this round of consultation, we want to discuss the implementation of this policy. As a member of the functionary team of Wikimedia Commons, your opinion on enforcement is of great value. We want to hear from you on how this policy can be enforced on the Wikimedia Commons community and what might be needed to do so. There are a few enforcement questions so you can easily outline your answers based on them. Please do not hesitate to bring any more questions/challenges you think are not yet discussed.

regarding image deletions from the Symeon Shimin page

hi - either the images were pulled directly from the website regarding his art or provided by his family for me to use in the creation of this page. Symeon Shimin is no longer living and his daughter requested my help in creating wiki page to honor her father. all of the pictured of his art were provided by her. or taken directly off her website about him. which I've cited all sources, as well as responded to it being unpublished due to him still being alive which isn't the case.

And in the description of the uploaded image (File:Solaris Erke.jpg), I noted that the image was from Solar Team Solaris' media archive, which marked for the necessary licensing Wikipedia requires and again used by the permission of Solar Team Solaris' Sponsorship and Media Subgroup. Image must be deleted

I had exactly the same problem with other images and they were deleted without any problem. The image was not taken by me and I don't have the copyright. It's very simple. I'm quite puzzled by this motive as I personally took this picture during the 2014 European Fencing Championships, as show the title and the description page. Kanan Aliyev was one of the competitors. Absolutely! [Here is where we are currently https://www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/51344512902] in the album News of 1910s, the year is 1923, but we just found an image from 1918 mixed in. Someone must have used it to make a copy at Bain and misfiled it. I have been going back to earlier tranches and finding ones we all just skipped over because the person didn't have an entry in Wikipedia, but now they may be in Wikidata since all of The Peerage was loaded to Wikidata. I also create entries in Wikidata for the obscure people that do not have entries already. Here is a good example of a 1914 image I went back to and had skipped over when it was first presented: File:American League (owners?), 2-11-14 LCCN2014695420.jpg and here is where I created a Wikidata entry for someone in a photo: James Lawrence Spalding --RAN (talk) 16:24, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

I am writing to you because we are looking for feedback for a new Wikimedia Foundation project, Structured Data Across Wikimedia (SDAW). SDAW is a grant-funded programme that will explore ways to structure content on wikitext pages in a way that will be machine-recognizable and -relatable, in order to make reading, editing, and searching easier and more accessible across projects and on the Internet. We are now focusing on designing and building image suggestion features for experienced users.

We have some questions to ask you about your experience with uploading images here on Wikimedia Commons and then adding them to Wikipedia. You can answer these questions on a specific feedback page on Mediawiki, where we will gather feedback. As I said, these questions are in English, but your answers do not need to be in English! You can also answer in your own language, if you feel more comfortable.

Once the collecting of feedback will be over, we will sum it up and share with you a summary, along with updated mocks that will incorporate your inputs.

A building/artwork/text is creative enough, i.e. have shown some distinctive features/above COM:TOO of the source country, are qualified as artistic works and need to be protected by copyright. A situation in which I need a solution

Hello Gbawden I don't know if you expertise here but I thought there would be no bad to ask. So what happened yesterday that a famous YouTuber agreed to give some of his video's screenshot to me. Now, if I upload all those image/screenshots on Commons, what would I have to do in order to give it a correct license? Because the YouTuber disagrees to make his whole video CC.   • I found no files containing 10273652865.
  • I used the flinfo utility to find the corresponding 10273652865 image on flickr. It doesn't look familiar. It does look like it was properly licensed, however.
  • So, had this image been uploaded, and subsequently deleted?
  • If so, did I upload it, even though it doesn't look familiar?

Hi @Davey2010: . I suggest you file a COM:UDR for it if you feel this strongly about it. Per COM:DEL "The debates are not votes, and the closing admin will apply copyright law and Commons policy to the best of his or her ability in determining whether" the file should be deleted or kept."

Hi, I see you deleted File:Jacob Cooper headshot 2019.jpg. I just wanted to point out: the site it was taken from is https://jacobcoopermusic.bandcamp.com/album/terrain; and the id of the person who uploaded it is Jmcooper02, which is most likely Jacob Cooper.

I actually asked him about this very same image a year and a half ago: User talk:Jmcooper02#File:Jacob Cooper headshot 2019.jpg and he asserted "I hired David Johansen to take the photo, and he should be credited as the photographer, but, as per my agreement with him, I own the copyright to the photo."

I'm not sure whether this suggests maybe OTRS rather than deletion might be the correct route. (I'm only occasionally on Commons; I'm mostly familiar with the ways over at English Wikipedia.) TJRC (talk) 02:43, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

I know we normally need the permission of the photographer, but that's because they normally retain the copyright in their own work, but when something is a "work for hire", the copyright rests with the person who paid for it. At Commons, we need the copyright holder to release the pic. Hi Gbawden, regarding this deletion, I have offered to help Andrew get his pics reloaded, but I need your advice. Due to the advent of tripods, it's totally possible for someone to take a picture of themselves, but the big question is, how do you prove it to the Wikipedia folks? Do you normally ask folks to take a picture holding a sign that says something to the effect "hey, it's really me taking this pic" or would it be better for him to get his wife to take a pic of him taking the selfie. I appreciate your due diligence RE: copyright, but on this matter I am the photographer and copyright holder. I accidentally re-uploaded the original file, which you can delete if you like, but I've followed up with another photo from the same session on the same day which has not been published anywhere. You can see both photos were taken with the same equipment and in the same circumstances, only with a different lighting setup. If you still want to delete the first photo, be my guest, but the second photo of the subject can't be found anywhere else and should meet your copyright concern requirements. You deleted a photo of Bai Ling claiming it was a possible copyright violation because it's on the internet. Where exactly is it? The only place it's on the internet is at IMDB posted by the subject herself. You are a student and not a copyright expert. What you did could be illegal.
